In September 2024, I contracted with ****** for a solar panel installation. The project remains incomplete, and shortly after, I was informed that ***** filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. As part of this transition, I was told that Zeo Energy would take over my project and complete it.Since being transferred to ***, I have experienced significant difficulties. I have attempted to contact them numerous times via phone and email to resolve the issue, but I have received no responses. My project is still unfinished, and I have no timeline or point of contact to address the matter. The incomplete project includes:County inspection and activation of my services.I am seeking the following resolution:Immediate acknowledgment of my issue.Completion of the solar panel installation project as per the original agreement with *****. Benefits that were promised to me, Gift Card valued for first 3 mo of service.A clear and reasonable timeline for when the remaining work will be completed.I am extremely frustrated with the lack of communication and responsiveness from Zeo Energy. I am looking to resolve this issue amicably, but if I do not receive a response, I may be forced to explore legal options or file further complaints with other authorities.Thank you for your assistance in this matter.Business Response

Thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention. On behalf of Zeo Energy, I sincerely apologize for the delays and lack of communication you have experienced. I understand how frustrating it must be to face delays in completing your solar project, especially after the challenges youve already encountered with Lumios transition.
Transitioning projects from Lumio to Zeo Energy has presented unforeseen challenges. Unfortunately, we did not receive all the necessary information from ***** to seamlessly complete your project. Additionally, the expiration of *************** compensation in your state delayed scheduling the city inspection. Compounding this issue is the fact that the license is still in Lumios name, and transitioning it to Zeo Energy has taken longer than anticipated. Please rest assured that resolving these issues is a priority.
Your project is currently in the inspection phase. To ensure better communication moving forward, I will assign a dedicated customer care specialist to provide you with weekly updates and act as your direct contact for any immediate concerns.
Regarding the gift card, we were not initially aware of this promise as it was not outlined in your documentation transferred to us from *****. However, we want to honor commitments made to you. On December 18th, we sent a resolution agreement offering reimbursement of the first three loan payments, and I will personally follow up to ensure this resolution meets your expectations. If you have any questions about the agreement or additional concerns, please let me know, and I will ensure they are addressed promptly.
We truly value your patience and understanding as we work through these complexities. We are committed to completing your project as quickly as possible and restoring your confidence in Zeo Energy. If you have additional questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me directly at *****************************************************************************.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:I am writing to formally reject the response provided by Zeo in my ongoing case. Despite their promise to provide gift card payments, a month has passed, and I have yet to receive any of the promised funds.
Additionally, I have personally spoken with the county, and they have confirmed that nothing has been filed to conduct the necessary inspections. This further indicates a lack of action on Zeos part to resolve the situation.
This delay has placed me in a difficult financial position. I am now responsible for paying both my ****** loan and my *** bill, which is an unnecessary burden. Furthermore, I missed out on valuable tax credits for this past year due to their inaction. This issue goes far beyond the three bill payments they referenced and has caused significant financial and opportunity losses.
I request immediate and comprehensive action from *** to resolve this matter. Thank you for your time and continued assistance in addressing this issue.
Sincerely,
******* **********Business Response

Hi *******,
Im sending this response here and in our email chain.
First, I want to apologize for the delay in confirming the 3-month reimbursement. I recently took over this matter, and I agree that the wait has been unacceptable. Ive personally submitted the request, and in our email thread, I also mentioned that well cover the remaining loan payments until you receive permission to operate. Please let me know if this solution works for you.
Regarding the county records, youre correct that theres no inspection currently logged. This is because we cannot file for inspection without updated insurance. Unfortunately, the delay was caused by the expired insurance on Lumios end. I should have clarified that when I mentioned your project is in the inspection phase. While the next step is indeed the inspection, the insurance update is a prerequisite.
Theres been some complexity around renewing the insurance due to the license being under Lumios name, which is a challenge stemming from the asset purchase. I spoke to the broker today, and we expect to have the updated insurance by next Thursday. Once thats finalized, we can immediately request the inspection.
As for the reimbursement checks, Ill provide tracking numbers once they are printed and sent. Since the request was submitted yesterday, the checks should be mailed out by Friday. (tomorrow)
Thank you for your patience as we work through these issues. If you have any questions or need further clarification, feel free to reach out.
Kayla should be reaching out to you once a week as well until you receive permission to operateCustomer Answer

I canceled service for solar because we waited 4 months after order , we heard nothing from the company. Someone contacted me and told me I had to pay 20% of the original bill and that the company would put a lean on my home because I didnt cancel within 3 days of contract. There was no work completed on my home. They continued to have supplies delivered in my driveway then I had to call that place and tell them I had cancelled and to come pick it up. There again the person for solarengry told me he wouldnt have the supplies removed from my driveway, I had to find the paperwork in the supplies and call myself. I was given a huge hassle, I thought for sure I was being scammed.Business Response

On 15 October I notified the company that my solar panels were not working. I was told a ticket was being put in. I called again on 29 Oct and was told it was still being worked and they were running behind due to the recent hurricanes. I called again on 4 Nov for an update and was told I would here from the service team in the next ***** hours, I never heard from anyone. I called again on 14 Nov and was told that a ticket was put in on 8 Nov for service and that a technician would be calling me in the next ***** hours. I requested to speak to a supervisor, and was told that request was put in and they would contact me in ***** hours. Today is 20 Nov and I still have not received a call from anyone at the company. I called again today and still got no resolution, just another promise that someone would contact me in ***** hours. I am skeptical that the company is actually in business, as every time I call I talk to the same person. They have a call tree (select 1 for x, select 2 for y, etc), no matter which option I select I get the same person every time. I have a 30 year warranty on my solar panels, but can't get anyone to come perform the maintenance to get them working, which is resulting in $300+ electric bills while I am still making monthly payments on the solar panels.Business Response

We were sold a solar panel system and was promised that our total electric bill would be $149 per month and we would no longer have to pay FLP. Since installing the panels we now have the $149 plus our regular FLP bill. We are seniors citizens living on a fixed income, this has hurt us tremendously. We have waited months for a resolution now we cant get a response. We cannot get them to resolve or remove those panels.Business Response

I purchased solar panels from Sunergy, ZeoEnergy in August and they finished the install around September. I had expressed concerns about the panel placement as my neighbors tree is shading it, but I was assured by the installers that it's fine and will produce optimal energy credits. A few months go by and while my energy bill went down it wasn't getting enough energy credits from my own estimation and what I was told from the sales **** I called before and was connected with ******* from Financial Compliance ( he is no longer there). I told him I believe the panels need to move or I need more panels. He advised me to wait 1 full year to generate a full report. I waited a year and had to pay even more money to the utility company because the credits ran out in April. I've contacted the customer care, tried emailing and calling. I've stressed that the trees are my neighbors and I can't do anything about it. No manager or supervisor has followed up with me even though they keep saying they will. I want this rectified, either remove the panels and give me my money back or add enough panels.Business Response

Sunergy has misrepresented their product in order to sell it to the consumer. I was told that this would not appear on my credit report and sure enough it appeared on my credit report. Now, this is the second complaint that I have made against Sunergy. I would now like their product removed from my home.Business Response

Thank you for sending this complaint to us. We would like to clarify that it is standard procedure to pull credit when applying for a loan, as it allows the loan provider to assess the application appropriately. However, this process is at the sole discretion of the loan provider. We apologize if there was any confusion during the communication regarding this matter.
Furthermore, we apologize for any frustration caused; however, we cannot terminate the contract at this stage, as the solar panels have already been installed and are operating normally, providing the agreed-upon service as detailed in the contract. A copy of the contract can be found in the "Attachment(s)".Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:Your salesman are liars and your deceitful practices should be illegal. I will speak with the finance company and if a lawsuit needs to be filed then that is an option that will be explored. It took your company almost a year to the day to install the panels and now the payments for the panels are the same at paying the utility. Your salesman insisted that it would "replace" the utility bill which was another lie and misrepresentation to get me to sign the contract under false pretenses. I suggest you remove the panels and advise the finance company of the same before a lawsuit is filed against Sunergy.
Sincerely,

The workers were cursing out loud and made promises that the job would be completed in a few hours. Instead they were laying down on the roof playing on their phones and not installing the solar panels like they were paid to do. On top of that they leaned solar panels on the neighbors house and they had to come out and complain to the workers about it. Then 2 of the people left and then they continued to curse out loud for everyone to hear. The workers and company have been very hard to get ahold of including their manager who's refused to answer his phone. I just want them to take panels and hardware away. I'm tired of dealing with these problems considering this should've been done Monday.Business Response

Sunergy failed to return calls and emails which the thier customer support team provide. It seams the staff don't have access to manages. You have to email them. I have been getting the runaround for two months. Each time they provide me with a apology someone will call you. Can't be placed on hold they hangup. I am rejecting this response because:
Dear BBB Representative and Sunergy Solar Representative,
I am writing to follow up on my previous complaint, as I have yet to receive any phone calls or emails from the business in question, despite their reply stating that they would reach out to me.
Please note that when I receive phone calls, the caller must have an identifiable incoming number. If the number appears as "Potential Spam" or is unidentifiable, it is automatically blocked, as with most phone systems today. All other calls are forwarded to me directly, and I always answer. I can confirm that I only have this one number, and no calls have come through from the business.
It is clear that the issue remains unresolved, and I am concerned that this lack of follow-up reflects the business’s disregard for its customers, as is evident in their negative ratings.
I respectfully request that BBB ensures the business makes a genuine effort to contact me with proper identification or through email, as this situation remains ongoing and unresolved.
Sincerely,
Earl Kevin Hughes

Now would like someone to talk to me about adding the whole house on solar or backup batteries. Which would help me since I am a disabled vet and on oxygen and refrigerate medicatio.
i do agree its okay to close this case.
And still want to work this Business in the future.
