Sunergy solar know known as ********** by their website. We agreed to get solar in 2023 if we had a static generator. The salesman agreed. and wrote generator on the contract. Fast forward to 2024 after getting my Order to Operate. I had to chase the company down to find my generator. after tons of back and forth they wanted to provide me with only a portable generator. We are still dealing with this issue. they have offered the following options: the generator, The 5k they budgeted while i cover additional costs for installation, or 5k reduced off the loan. Please ensure that you get the specifics of everything in the contract. The county they reside in dont have alot of lawyers that will take on the case in that county. Please be careful. They are good with their decitful practices.

We were promised by a sunergy sales man that we would be paying less monthly if we got solar panels. We were advised our roof and panels would have a warranty and now from the last hurricane we have leak. When contacted customer service I was placed on hold mid conversation and then hung up. I have called back 3 times to now only get voice mail. This company is scamming and taking advantage of hard working people.

      Business Response

Thank you for bringing this complaint to our attention. We understand how concerning roof leaks can be, and we want to ensure the customer's concerns are addressed promptly. Our *********************** was able to make contact with her this morning and is currently working to schedule a service technician to visit the property and investigate the issue further. Once we have a confirmed date of availability, we will promptly call the customer back to confirm the appointment.

I am rejecting this response because: I still have not received a call from their customer service dep. on tops of that I spoke with ***** at the non standard department for her to set someone up to come check out the leak. I advised her I was not available from 8am-9am window. So she change it from 12pm - 1pm window. A gentleman showed up this morning to my house at 8:20am I have attached ring footage. He was not even a-wear of change in appointment that o never agreed too as I knew I would not be home to supervise. This is so unprofessional.

      Sincerely,

      *****************************

      Business Response

We apologize for any miscommunication regarding the technician's arrival. We have coordinated with the customer to confirm an additional appointment scheduled for September 5th. Additionally, our ************* team has reached out to the customer to obtain 12 months of utility bill statements to facilitate a thorough investigation.

While this investigation is still in progress, we have observed a few key points: the solar system is functioning without any technical issues, and the customers utility bill indicates that their energy consumption exceeds the amount the solar system is designed to produce. Sunergy is committed to continuing this investigation and will provide the customer with the findings and potential options for resolution

Signed up with solar with the company back on 6/21/24. They made a great sales pitch but was mislead on how net metering works and promised if not change was made to how we use our power we would essentially have not electric bill at all. We chose to cancel and look elsewhere. They sent a bill for the work that had been completed to date. The only work provided was a permit being pulled, a moc up of design and the sales *** took some photos or our house. **** sent to us is unreasonable for the work provided.

****** ****** came to my door offering panels when I asked numerous times if I dont want it or dont work ( and they dont) dirt because they should install 26 for the size of the house and they installed 16. Also he signed the contract for me and never gave me a copy until I clapped two weeks ago asking for it. Because I never signed anything. I dont see any improvements on my energy bill , they also charged me for installation when they were not supposed to. I am an adult disabled and retired I was lied and they did fraud signing for me.

      Business Response

      Date: 09/03/2024

Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. We take allegations of signature fraud very seriously and are committed to thoroughly investigating any concerns raised.

Upon reviewing the Leasing Contract provided by the customer, we observed that on page 45, where the Certificate of Completion is located, the document was both viewed and signed by the customer on April 1, 2024 using the same email address that was listed with the Better Business Bureau as her preferred contact email. Based on this information, it would be unlikely that the sales representative could have accessed or signed the contract on the customer's behalf. Furthermore, before the customer signed the contract, a welcome call was conducted with our Deal Review Team, during which the customer was contacted via a recorded call. During this call, the customer confirmed their understanding of various aspects of the contract to ensure they had read, comprehended, and agreed to the terms and conditions.

To address the concerns relating to the solar system and its production, Sunergy Solar can confirm that everything is functioning as expected. We remain committed to ensuring the integrity of our processes and will continue to work diligently to address and resolve any issues. Our Resolution Team will reach out to the customer to obtain the Utility Bills in question to investigate further.

      Complaint: 22190945

I am rejecting this response because I was unable to provide a detailed description of my case to provide more context as to why I am confident I was a victim of fraud and fraudulent misinterpretation of the contract. In my initial response, I provided a limited summary that does not accurately describe what occurred, and I do have rebuttals about the points regarding the email address tied to the signature, as well as to the April 1st signing. Regarding the email address, I was asked to submit a signature via. DocuSign, in which I can confirm you do not not need an email account to make the signature and it can be placed there to notify someone of their involvement with what is being signed, something that I was never informed would be used, as I was under the understanding that my email was just part of basic contact information during the consultation as I was clear to demonstrate to the representative that I am not tech-savvy due to my age. As for April 1st, I did not meet with any Sunergy Solar representative that day to make any agreements, as I was busy at the time preparing for an international trip. As for the phone call received to the client, I would like to be provided with evidence of this interaction as I do not have any recollection of being contacted to approve the contract, especially given I only ever heard the term "contract" be applied once I was already investigating concerns with Sunergy Solar before contacting the BBB in August. I ask you to please investigate using the information I sent over to ***********************************************. I would also be more than happy to provide further documentation of my actual signature to demonstrate the differences.

      Sincerely,

      ***** ******

At this time, our Resolution team does not have a dedicated Spanish-speaking agent. However, our Manager is actively coordinating with other departments within the company to ensure we can provide the necessary translation support.

Please know that we are committed to addressing these concerns promptly and with the highest level of professionalism. Our priority is to ensure clear and effective communication throughout this process.

On March 25 2024 a ***resentative came to my house to discuss my solar options. He explained the process and then told me in order for him to get started, I needed to sign a bunch of paperwork allowing them to draw up plans to see if I would be eligible to connect to the grid in my neighborhood as sometimes the utility company has maximum capacity and denies permission. I noticed as I was signing that there was a 10% fee if I canceled the contract, I asked him about it and he told both me and my wife that nothing could be done until the utility company approved my connection and then after approval I would sign the final paperwork and get the permits, etc. Months later I am informed that the utility has approved my connection to the grid and they were almost ready to install. I never received another form, permission, commencement letter, or anything to sign after that day in March. Around June I inquired about the status of whether or not I was eligible and the ***resentative told me someone had dropped the ball on my paperwork and they would have to get things back on track. I had made several inquiries about solar batteries and never received an answer, so I assumed that Sunergy was just a slow company and this was the service I should expect.Fast forward to July and suddenly its rush-rush we want to install your solar next week! However in the 5 months time, we had changes in our house that would require more power and even modifications to the roof. I told the new solar *** who worked out of **** this and we discussed my options, as well as the 10% cancellation fee. At this point I explained to him by my knowledge, the only thing done so far was utility company approval and then told him what the first *** had told my wife and I when I signed the paperwork. He then informed me that getting the utility company approval is the last thing that gets done. So having been misled, I signed documents that allowed Sunergy to do what they want without my consent

After a thorough review of this complaint, we have determined that Sunergy Solars role in this project was exclusively as the installer. Our responsibilities were limited to the installation of the solar equipment. We understand the customer's concerns, and we want to ensure that he receives the appropriate assistance.

For any questions or concerns related to sales we kindly recommend that the customer contact the sales dealer, Spartan Solar, directly. They are best equipped to address any inquiries or concerns regarding the sales process or any agreements made.

Solar Loan in the amount of $46,097 on 05/16/2023 Complaint is solely due to deceptive sales tactics, and failure to produce what we paid for.Sold solar panels that were suppose to produce ****** kWh annually for our home that consumes ****** kWh Company promised 90 days of "free solar" However, the sale occurred on 05/16/23 and the panels were operational only on 10/02/23, that's 5 months later. Obviously no free solar occurred and we paid both our energy bill and Solar loan simultaneously. Now more than a year later, the solar is still not producing what was quoted to us, now the company is saying there are trees that are shading the panels. ******** had knowledge of this as, he saw the property, however still sold us an amount of panels that he claimed would produce enough energy to replace our electrical bill.I have all emails between myself and the company and am happy to produce those. I have reached out to the company but have received no resolution.A desirable outcome would be for the company to refund me at least half of the loan, because the panels are only producing about half of what was promised, OR install enough solar panels on my roof to produce the quoted energy. Install more solar panels at the cost of the company, obviously.

I have been phoning and texting Sunergy since July 10, 2024. We have eleven of 34 solar panels which are not working. I need service. When I reach a person (in *****) by phone, they tell me my call will be returned within two hours. Call has never been returned. I simply need service. We paid just under $30,000 for our system. I will decline going into the absolute lies told to us by the salesperson because at this point, I just want our system functioning properly. This company has major integrity issues.

Thank you for bringing this complaint to our attention. Our Service team promptly scheduled a troubleshooting appointment for August 6th. After thorough evaluation, it was determined that the most effective solution to address the production issues and prevent future occurrences is to replace the microinverters on the affected panels that are not performing as expected.

Currently, Sunergy is coordinating directly with the manufacturer to procure the new microinverters and is keeping the customer informed with regular updates.

On 7/20/24, a sales representative from Sunergy came to my elderly fathers home and gave him a presentation of the benefits of a solar system. My father agreed to proceed based on the promise that he would 1) pay nothing up front 2)pay only a $77.42 dollar monthly fee that was locked in 3) there was a 25 year warranty on the panels which consisted of a ***** kW per hour system. What was NOT disclosed was that the program was an equipment lease and that the payment was a lease payment and not his actual energy bill (he would still have an FPL bill) He was also not given disclosures or acknowledgements as the salesperson used an iPad for everything. In order to deliver the contract and disclosures, he set up a dummy email account for my father. He has never had an email address and doesnt own a computer. Im not sure how he was expected to be able to see the terms and conditions in writing without that. Luckily I was able to access the email account and find the term sheet. My father was mortified and embarrassed that he had agreed to allow this person to sell him on a system without providing clear and complete information. Buyer beware. Im not sure if any laws were broken by setting up an email account to deliver disclosures electronically to someone that has no ability to access them. But it is certainly an ethical concern.

One of the salesmen was going door to door and offering solar and I thought I'd give it a ****. I ended up being buffaloed into a contract the day of or day after he came and I had to put the brakes on it a couple of months later because of a family emergency that put me in a financial position where I couldn't spend any money on anything that's not essential and I had more urgent matters to attend to than making sure everything was filled out with them.I would keep getting at least one call a week by the salesman constantly hounding me and asking me to check the thing and sign it even though I said that I was going through a family emergency that wouldn't allow for new solar panels. He called again yesterday and today and said the same and I told him, in no uncertain terms, that I would have to cancel because of my situation.I then got a text today saying "We are too far in the process to cancel. If you don't want to move forward there will be a fee". A fee for what? I sent no money to the company and no measurements for solar panels have been made. This is nothing but predatory sales tactics and I have made a formal complaint to the ************************* regarding this demand for payment when no services have been rendered.

The salesman brought kinds of electricians to examine by electrical system, my electrical boxes and everything else associated with electricity. The salesman even went into my attic to ensure it could support having solar panels. I was told, "Everything looks great! You are all set." We can schedule this in about a month. Six weeks later the panels were installed on my roof. Then came other electricians to actually hook up the panels to my electrical system. Again they ran all over the house and left withour telling me anything. I hear a few weeks later that my wiring in bad and I would have to rewire the entire house for loads of money. My view is that the first electricians who examined my system should have seen these problems before the panels were installed. I tell Sunergy to remove the panels, that I can not afford to pay for rewiring. They say it will take an additional $9000 to get out of the deal and remove the panels, but they do not do this. An electrician comes and says he thinks it will work, so we decide to try. He comes again to work through the system and install inside boxes says it is connected. Yet, nothing happens. A few months later, he comes back, plays with the system and flips a switch and we smell a burning smell in the kitchen and the dishwasher is destroyed, the microwave is destroyed and two fans. He comes back and takes pictures of the system (I think he is going to fix the problem that destroyed the appliances, but he does not. So, he is supposed to come back a couple of days ago when I get a call that essentially says it's my fault and the electrician isn't coming back. THIS HAS TAKEN NEARLY A YEAR. BEFORE THE ELECTRICIAN CAME THAT DAY I HAD A DISHWASHER AND A MICROWAVE AND TWO FANS. NOW I HAVE NONE. Sunergy does not contact me. Appliances not working, panels on my roof do not work and no help from Sunergy. We did nothing to cause any of this. We trusted Sunergy to examine the sytem BEFORE INSTALLATION.

However, BBB does not verify the accuracy of information provided by third parties, and does not guarantee the accuracy of any information in Business Profiles.

When considering complaint information, please take into account the company's size and volume of transactions, and understand that the nature of complaints and a firm's responses to them are often more important than the number of complaints.

BBB Business Profiles generally cover a three-year reporting period, except for customer reviews. Customer reviews posted prior to July 5, 2024, will no longer be published when they reach three years from their submission date. Customer reviews posted on/after July 5, 2024, will be published indefinitely unless otherwise voluntarily retracted by the user who submitted the content, or BBB no longer believes the review is authentic. BBB Business Profiles are subject to change at any time. If you choose to do business with this company, please let them know that you checked their record with BBB.

As a matter of policy, BBB does not endorse any product, service or business. Businesses are under no obligation to seek BBB accreditation, and some businesses are not accredited because they have not sought BBB accreditation. BBB charges a fee for BBB Accreditation. This fee supports BBB's efforts to fulfill its mission of advancing marketplace trust.
