On 06 FEB 2024, A co-buyer who is my wife and I purchased an ** from Optimum (*****************, Wolf Pup Cherokee Black Label 16KHBL). I was provided a temp tag which has long expired. Prior to the expiration I was proactive and called the dealership for the status on the plates. The sales person, *********************** at ************** would transfer me to a coworker named Candy. I called numerous times for a status until she finally stated that the dealership never processed my registration or plates for the travel trailer. It has been over 4 months and still no plates/registration. *********************** and other staff at Optimum RV mishandled or lost the purchase contract/sales packet with our Personal Identifiable Information (PII). *********************** requested for me to send him information that the buyers packet already contained, such as purchase contract, driver licenses, and SSN numbers. After going to the DPS/DMV and police department, Legally, I cannot move the travel trailer due to no plates and no registration. This has forced me to park the ** and it prevents me from enjoying the use the recreational vehicle that I purchased from Optimum RV four months ago. When I call Optimum RV and provide my name the staff hangs up the phone or places me on hold and never picks up. I have waited on hold for periods longer than 60 minutes trying to speak to someone to resolve the issue. *********************** and ***** clearly demonstrated that they refuse to provide a service that I paid for and I have not received the registration or vehicle tags for the state of *****. I request to be reimbursed from the date the temp tags expired to the date I receive the registration due to the failure on behalf of the dealership staff. Such failure has forced me to park the ** and prevented the use and enjoyment of the recreational vehicle due to Optimum RV staff mishandling of my sales contract, plates, and registration.

I am rejecting this response because:

In regards to the response from Optimum RV, I see no mention of the delay to process my plates by an employee who identifies or is named as Candy.I talked to Candy twice and each time I was given an excuse on why she had not processed my plates. Her inability to perform her duties and process something that I already paid for played a major factor on why I filed this complaint. I went to the Department of Motor Vehicles / Department of Public Safety to verify if the process was initiated on the two occasions I talked with Candy and it was not. ***** refused and failed to send me a second temp tag. I did not receive the plates on the date or timed that Optimum RV claims.

I was sent a four-page non-disclosure agreement and offered $500.00 but after reviewing the document I need to seek legal counsel. The compensation is tied to me signing the non-disclosure agreement.

      Sincerely,

      *************************

Why is my complaint going to Optimum RV in Florida when the complaint I made was against Optimum RV ************** located in ********, ******** on 13 June 2024?

The Florida complaint has a different date which does not match my initial complaint.

      Customer Answer

      Date: 08/10/2024

      Complaint: 21848659

I am rejecting this response because:

Optimum RVs only obligation in this matter is not just to see that I received my registration and plates as stated in their response. Optimum RV is obligated to safeguard Personal Identifiable Information (PII) of customers in which employee, ***********************, and other staff at Optimum RV failed to do so. They mishandled or lost my purchase contract/sales packet with our (My wife and I) Personal Identifiable Information. *********************** requested for me to send him information that the buyers packet already contained, such as purchase contract, driver licenses, and SSN numbers.

Additionally, Optimum RV stated in their previous response the following statement:
****** failed to follow internal procedures and requested your identifiable information again.

Again because it happened on more than one occasion.

If Candy no longer works with or for Optimum RV that is not a valid excuse to take four months and 14 days to provide me with my plates per your delivery date. Candy is not a one-person business or show stopper and another member of your organization should have fulfilled the obligation Optimum RV has to provide me with my registration and plates that I paid for in a timely manner.

The $500 compensation is not in good faith or goodwill, as it is tied to a non-disclosure agreement which after seeking legal counsel I refuse to sign. I am free to complain about the failure of Optimum RV to meet its obligation to me as a customer to whomever I choose. The poor customer service experience is a fact and I will not be tied to a legal document that prevents me from bringing this up, filling, and continuing to push for this, or any additional complaints against your business. Optimum RV has clearly failed to meet requirements for PII, processing my registration, and plates in a timely manner. Per their delivered date, four months and 14 days is how long it took and that is not a timely manner to receive my plates. Optimum RVs failure prevented me from using and enjoying the ** for travel purposes as a retired service member who purchased the ** to travel and enjoy time off with my family and friends.

I fulfill my obligations on every payment for the ** but Optimum RV cannot fulfill their obligations to customers. I will share my experience with every friend and Family member that I know and ask them to share my experience with their friends and family to expose the lack of Optimum RVs customer care and refusal to rectify a problem. The non-disclosure agreement states in the following:

RECITALS section, B. Optimum RV denies any wrongdoing whatsoever.

That is contradicting the entire scenario for $500 which again is tied to a non-disclosure agreement to stop me from exposing Optimum RVs failure. I am not satisfied with Optimum RV;I would like to continue with my complaint.

      Sincerely,

      *************************

On May 13, 2024 I did my walkthrough for my 5th wheel. I had 3 issues I saw that needed attention before leaving. The awning was never operational. I was told by the employee that services would probably need to order a new motor. I waited 30 minutes. Then they said it was ok for me to leave and they would let me know when they could get the part as I was supposed to have it delivered the following morning. They called me around ********************************************** a locked position and it worked perfectly. When I got my unit delivered then hooked up to electric I saw it didnt work for me. So I contacted my sales lady *******. She instructed me to call services. I called optimum service department and spoke with them and they advised me to call JK mobile. They came out for $125 which was charged to me. ********** inspected the issues and found that the plug was very corroded and stated it Didnt just happen. And it would not have opened when they said it was. Per our contract I paid an additional $999 and additional expense for pre delivery service fee. Which stated (inspection, cleaning, adjusting documents). I contacted the manager ***************************** ********************* ******************************************* ************* about this issue and a few more I found. He satisfied 1 of my several issues. I am still out money, no awning, he actually stated I need to go through the warranty which I assured him would be fraudulent because it was never fixed before I received the item in my possession. I have emailed for 1 month and got no response. I called again today 7/9/24 and left a voicemail. I need a new awning, JK Mobile needs to do it. And I need my outside recaulked. I have a bill from JK Mobilh for all the repair costs

Recently purchased a travel trailer from Optimum RV. Paid for a camp ready package as they call it and the refrigerator stopped working within the first 2 weeks of owning the camper. Took the camper back to have the fridge looked at and see if dometic would warranty a new fridge or not. At first i was never told i would be charge $200 to have the fridge assessed. Once i paid the $200 i promptly never got any other update on my issue. They never told me what was wrong or how it would be resolved. I tried contacting the service manager, my service advisor and the store manager to which i got bo response from anyone. They took my money and left me out to dry with no information or updates at all. I did end up getting the camper back because it was going past their promise date and i was not willing to chance being charged storage fees.

Transaction Date 12/30/2022 Amount: $25,126.52 Commitment from Dealer: New Trailer in working order and under Warranty.Dispute: Dealer has had the trailer for 6 months to fix several items. During that time it has developed other issues from incomplete service and sitting outside. Dropped of at dealer 11/2023, taken out last week of March 2024 for one week trip. I dropped it off thinking that the warranty and service would be good as the last owner of the dealership would have been. that has not been the case.Issues:1. Water Tank retention (I have informed them that I will take of this as they have tried to fix it once.)2. Furnace operation and cover. I first brought the tailer in for the furnace cover. I was told that it needed to be ordered and we were waiting on warranty information from manufacture. Furnace stopped working. Found that the furnace was unhooked and moving freely in the mount. Dangerous as the exhaust was not hooked up. We found this will on a trip in March. Very cold.3. Now the roof is leaking as well as windows. I brought it back and a new manager said he would fix it under warranty as I have not had the trailer for months. Areas of concern are refrigerator vent on roof, front driver side window and wall, dining window and wall. These are not the only things wrong but what we have discussed on multiple calls with *****.On top of that, I was asked if I had bought the trailer there.I have a trip over the 4th of July and no trailer.I am looking for the issues to be resolved or they can take the trailer back.

      Hello,

I have had a conversation with **** ***************** from Golfstream Coach on June 20, 2024 at 2:55. I had called to complain about the inability of Optimum RV to fix my ** under warranty for over 6+ months. I informed her that I was moving to **. She told me to go pick up my **. She said to find a dealer in ** and that she would assist me in the warranty work with the with the new dealership.

I went to pick up the ** and was informed by ***** that I was going to be charged ~$500 for repairs. Again, something that I keep communicating is not sinking in: This should be repaired under warranty.

I picked my ** up and took it home. I asked for repair under warranty and it was not done for over 6 months.

I should never have purchased from Optimum RV. I still want my ** repaired but I don't think I can waste anymore time trying to work with Optimum RV.

I will certainly take a call to let the manager know what I think.

      Thank you,

I had contacted the Branch in ********* ***** about purchasing a 2020 Winnebago Wanderer *** After multiple conversations about the *** I agreed to purchase. I gave them a 5000 dollar "nonrefundable" deposit to hold it for me. I booked a flight for myself and another driver. They were paying for our flights. They were supposed to pick me up from the airport,,but didn't because my salesman said his car was messy inside. I took an Uber to the dealership, so by the time I arrived I had already spent 900 dollars which they were taking off the price of the *** They told me they had inspected the unit but as I did my walk around, along with noticing that the left front tire was ready to blow, I also found loose molding and the ** had not been cleaned yet. On further inspection I noticed it was missing one key component, the outdoor kitchen. They said they called someone to replace the tire but after two hours the tire had not been replaced. I asked to see the manager and explained my issues to him about the *** I asked for a discount on the *** his response was I am already losing money on this, so no discount and instead of offering an apology for the false advertising he merely asked, "Didn't you read our website disclaimer about description of vehicles?" At that point I asked for my refund twice and they finally gave me my 5000 dollars back. I took an Uber back to the airport. I had to rent a car to drive to *******, to get a flight home. According to their website they still have the same ** in stock and have not fixed the "error" on their website, so this leads me to believe the false advertising was intentional. I am out close to 3000 dollars between airfare, uber, rental cars and meals. The manager did walk out to before the uber picked me up but, offered nothing else. They were a 2000-dollar discount and an apology away from selling me the ** but I felt like they didn't care because they thought they had me trapped. This a buyer beware kind of business.

      Complaint: 21832955

I am rejecting this response because: most of it is incorrect.

I was lured to ***** to buy an advertised product that was not as advertised. It was missing a major component, the outdoor kitchen. The managers response? Didn't you read our disclaimer? Cosmetic imperfections would be a scratch, a dent or scrape. The cosmetic issue as you called was a 10-foot-long molding strip that was 2 inches thick and made of some sort of composite material. If that piece of molding had come loose and it would have come lose it would have been a flying projectile, that could have hurt or killed someone. As far as your ace technician doing a complete inspection, he "may" have inspected the ** but he fixed nothing. I asked him to open the outdoor radio compartment. His response was I can, but it doesn't work anyway. We opened the compartment and the radio worked fine. As far as the tire goes, I spotted it immediately and brought it to the attention of my salesman. There were steel cords coming through the outer 1/3 of the tread area and 0/32 of tread which is illegal in every state.  He brought the service manager over who agreed that the tire needed to be replaced, especially on a 110-degree day. My sales said sir I can't even let you drive the ** out of here with a tire that bad. I am a 40-year tire industry veteran and have taught tire product knowledge courses for years, so I know what I am talking about. The other driver I brought with me has 30 years in the business. We were both shocked that your inspection would not have found this issue. When you couple that with the way the tire was worn there is a real indication that there was also chassis or alignment issues. The video I saw did not open all compartments so I could see all of the components. As far as the loose molding goes, I would not have seen that on a video and when I brought it up with the tech, he said I tried to snap it back on, but it wouldn't stay. Just another example of finding an issue and not fixing it. The molding is just glued and caulked in place. Just a simple fix that could have been made if the dealer was conscientious.  You were putting myself and my friend as well as countless drivers at risk if I had driven it out of that dealership. I believe this dealer baits out of state customers with false information and figures once the buyers arrive. they are stuck. I chose to spend the money to get back home. The manager only finally decided to say he was sorry just as my Uber driver arrived and I think that was just because another salesman told him how mad I was. One last note. If they are not trying to defraud customers, why haven't they corrected the ad? Used 2020 Winnebago Adventurer 30T Motor Home Class A at Optimum RV | *********,** | #2SR637. The ad still says it has an outdoor kitchen and it has been two weeks. There are a lot of BBB complaints on this company and very few are really resolved. My next step will be the Texas Attorney General because it is very apparent to me that this company is dishonest.

      Sincerely,

      Complaint: 21832955

I am rejecting this response because: again, because it is not based on fact. I did not get a video walk through of this motorhome. I watch the provided video on your website. I agree that you have a disclaimer on your website in regard to removeable features. The website said tailgate package which includes a sink, refrigerator and a portable gas grill that mounted in the hitch. I can understand that the previous owner could have removed the gas grill, but not an entire compartment. Your manager tried to apply that BS to me saying to read the disclaimer because an outdoor kitchen could just be the grill, which I challenged him on then. I also think the reason the motorhome wasn't ready for pickup when I arrived was because you probably have customers walk away from deals all of the time because they when they arrive because of missing features. Honestly if the vehicle had been cleaned and had safe tires on it when I arrived, I probably still would have bought it even with the missing features. I have looked through many complaints on the BBB website as well as the ******** page Optimum RV horror stories and still have not found where Optimum RV admits they made a mistake. I think that the BBB needs to look at all of the complaints that have been posted about Optimum RV and change the A+ rating to an F.  One last note I wanted to make about them is that they advertise RVs and motorhomes at around 5000 less than the true selling price. Once you agree to buy, they add over 5000 dollars in fees. I asked my salesman about it and he told me that was so they could advertise cheaper. They are a totally dishonest business and probably should be prosecuted not debated about at BBB. They owe me 3000 dollars for my expenses for this trip. They had every opportunity to satisfy me when I arrived and didn't take any steps to do so. They didn't replace the tire, they didn't wash it, and their Ace RV technician couldn't even figure out how to get the hood latch back on properly. .

      Sincerely,

I am rejecting this response because:every detail of Optimum RVs latest response are flagrant lies. When I arrived I found multiple people vacuuming the exterior  compartments, the exterior has a heavy layer of dust all over it. I found my salesman and he said they were washing it now.,That was a lie because 4 hours later, they still hadn't started. The person with and myself are considered experts in the tire industy with more than 70 years experience between us  Steel cords coming through the tread is an unsafe condition..****** falling off is an unsafe condition for other drivers on. I ask that Optimum RV lose their A plus rating while I pursue criminal charges against them.

      Sincerely,

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

They worked hard to clear my issues. They communicated with me when they needed extra info. They deserve a 5 star rating for how they worked on my issues.

      Sincerely,

Business submitted credit application after changing my monthly income before sending off in order to get me approved for a loan I am not able afford called to get copies of the original document I filled out for the credit application and was told by a member of the staff to call back later he would look into it called when asked to was hung up on multiple times after given a name went in person to retrieve documents and was stonewalled by staff for over an hour before being told they cant produce the documents because they are in storage asked how long it would take and was told bank is the only one they would pull documents for would not produce them for me the salespersons I spoke to had to constantly leave when I asked questions to go behind closed doors with multiple managers and would never give straight answer on documents I know this document contains evidence to prove they falsified a credit application by changing the monthly income to improve the chance of getting loan approval when it should have showed I could not afford it with current salary been struggling for a year to maintain on time payments was looking into loan information is when i discovered the suspected fraud on optimum rvs part and want people to be aware of this companies practices as i now have to contact legal representation to force them to stand behind their mistake or given the treatment I received when I started asking for certain documentation i believe it to be intentional also found amount of down payment inaccurate listed on paperwork claims I put down ******. down payment that was given was half that, job title on paperwork also not accurate would like to know how many other have had this experience

We bought our RV in February. We traded a 2021 ************ for a wolf pack toy hauler. They won't do an inspection on the unit you buy for atleast 5 days. This avoids it being within the three days a customer can back out. After walking the camper we wanted out of the deal there was so much wrong with it.Waited three weeks for the seller to get back to me to schedule and make several repairs. I finally called a manager that said get up to them and they would take care of it immediately. Another lie. Three months later and nothing done. Missed my scheduled trip for spring break with our twelve year old. Issues included 1 the slide not fully closing 2 stove lights staying on all the time and switch broken. Told lights were normal. They were not.3 rear curtain ripped and falling apart. Not what you expect on a new camper.4 simple things like the blk water tank cap broken off 5 the fresh water tank monitor is not showing levels and broken. 6 table had a big chip in it and was all scratched 7 seam tape under rear bunks peeling and no backer board behind the panel is why it was peeling. 8 blind was busted and couldn't be put up only fell down.Waited three months made three payments on camper. Finally called to pick it up and only the blind and stove switch were fixed. I was angry wanted the camper. Told them we would take it and found the **** to put it on the truck was cooked. Then they argued that I had to wait for warranty approval that didn't sit well. They don't care pushed me off to four different service advisors and I'm still not satisfied on the issues or how they treat people.
