      We are unhappy with our timeshare ownership and repeatedly asking for help with ending our relationship. We were lured to a sales gimmick in Orlando with hundreds of salespeople pressuring us to buy a timeshare. By the end of this 4-hour presentation, we were exhausted. We were told we would get "Free Weeks" and use them anywhere in the world. This was a lie. Nothing is ever available, or we cannot get in touch with anyone to help us. We were told that if we wanted to profit, we could easily rent or sell it. This was also a lie. When we stayed at our condo, we found broken appliances, musty smells, and dirty laundry not being picked up for days. We had to continuously call to get anyone out to help us. The experience has been extremely stressful and has not benefitted us. Keeping this timeshare would severely impact our future negatively and cause us more stress. We would have never agreed to sign the contract if we had been told the truth. We have wasted ten years of giving money to Westgate, and we cannot use the condo. Westgate has lied to us and refused to accommodate our needs. We refuse to continue this relationship and need to terminate our timeshare immediately. We are suffering financially and physically on limited income now and have pleaded with them to cancel , since we have fully paid $23,177.61 and own the unit and THOUSANDS PLUS more in tacked on fees.

      Lori P. 08/21/22 Westgate is nothing more than an over priced scam. They make their service seem as if it is a financial investment, but it is far from that! I was completely over sold on this and I cant even use it. Now that ive realized this is a money hole, Ive have tried to end my business with the company. They are doing everything in their power to keep me tied down to this contract. DO NOT BUY with Westgate. They do not care about their paying customer at all. They only want your money. Take this as your sign to stay far from this company!

      We have been in a dispute with Westgate Resorts for several years asking to be released from the agreement we made because of their deceitful sales practices that caused us to buy one of their timeshares in November 2016 and our continuing medical hardships that make it impossible for us to use the timeshare. When we were told about the required presentation, they assured us it would take 1 hour. It took over 3 hours. Each time we declined their offer the sales rep would get a supervisor with a "better" offer. We found that the salesperson and documentation were misleading. We were told that the maintenance fee was $441 (documented by the CONTRACT FOR PURCHASE AND SALE and the ACKNOWLEDGE OF REPRESENTATIONS). It was actually $530 the first year. Hidden in the closing costs was a charge for $1034.77 for loss of life with no explanation. This was listed in the CLOSING DISCLOSURE as "$1,474.77 in Other Costs" with a note "See page 2 for details." The CLOSING DISCLOSURE was only one page. Since the purchase, many hardships have fallen upon us. In Jan. 2017, I was diagnosed with stage 4 throat cancer and in early 2018 developed severe Dropped Head Syndrome and Neurogenic Orthostatic Hypotension (side effects of Parkinson's disease). Other side effects of Parkinson's continue to increase in intensity and severely limiting my mobility. I had to retire in July 2018. We are unable to travel and have a limited income. We tried putting our timeshare up for rent in 2018 and tried to sell it in 2019. We have found, contrary to what Westgate made us believe, it's extremely unlikely that anyone would rent or purchase it. We found that renting this timeshare requires competing with Westgate who advertise their properties with third party rental agencies. There are timeshares on eBay listed for $1 and they do not sell. It's not right that we are forced to remain in this contract with Westgate after hardships out of our control and no hope of using this timeshare.

      If you are reading this, please do not make the mistake my husband and I did. We signed up with Westgate under the premise that we were investing in a vacation property that would bring us rental income. Had we known the truth, there is no way we would have made the choice we did. It didn't help that when we said no, the staff got pushier every time and kept dropping the price to entice us. Eventually we agreed to $9,000. For that price, it made sense to vacation around the world AND have extra income. We signed a contract in less than 20 minutes, because we were not given the chance to view each document. I believe this was done purposely so we wouldn't discover that we were being sold on false promises. I have tried to contact the company about this and no one has answered thus far.

      Additionally, allow us to sincerely apologize if you felt uncomfortable or pressured in any way while attending our sales presentation. Since there may have been offers presented on a first-come, first-served basis, depending on the available inventory, the representative may have expressed some urgency regarding the offer. However, you were never obligated to remain past the agreed-upon time to receive your incentive or to purchase a timeshare. In addition, while you state you felt rushed during the closing process, please know that if you had informed the Closing Officer of this concern, they most certainly would have proceeded at a pace with which you were comfortable.

      Do yourself a favor and steer clear from Westgate. This is easily the worst company I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. Their sales staff is made up of tricksters that only care about making a buck. I had been an owner for quite a while and tried to remove my ex-husbands name from my contract but was duped into an upgrade instead. The lies I was told included: I would get more room for my children to vacation with me. Rental income to cover maintenance fees. Investing in real estate. Access to discounted cruises. Easy reservations. ALL LIES! There is no "income", I'm only throwing money away. I don't have access to any more space than before. Timeshares are NOTHING like real estate...no value = nothing to invest in. I have never been able to get a cruise. Worst of all, reservations are a nightmare. I work in healthcare and have never been able to find anything to accommodate my needs. What a waste of time and money!

      We 100% regret signing a timeshare contract with westgate resort. While we were out to dinner, we were approached asking if we would be interested in attending a presentation with westgate and check out their resort. They had explained there would be no obligation to purchase anything.we decided to go and now we know that would be our BIGGEST REGRET. When we attended this meeting we really signed up for: 1)A very long presentation with contract process being rushed 2)We we're never told about LEGAL RIGHT TO CANCEL 3)Increase monthly payments and maintenance fees 4) LACK availability and any more Their goal was to make traveling easier and cheaper. Instead made it harder and much expensive unlike what told us. In fact everything they told us is contradicted in the contract we signed

      First and foremost, we apologize for any inconveniences you may have experienced due to the length of the sales presentation you attended. We ask you to keep in mind that the only requirement to receive your agreed-upon incentive was to complete the 90-minute presentation. You could have stopped the presentation at any time as you were under no obligation to purchase. Please understand that Westgate cannot control whether you chose to exercise that right, as hundreds of consumers do on a daily basis. As for your feelings of being rushed during the signing process, please know that had you informed the Closing Officer of this concern, they most certainly would have proceeded at a pace with which you were comfortable.

      While we understand your concerns regarding your maintenance dues and taxes (M&T), it is important to understand that the M&T represents the only source of revenue available to pay the cost of maintaining your resort. The Owners' Association is responsible for calculating the resort's annual budget and dividing it equitably among all the owners so that each one pays a fair share of the costs needed to preserve the integrity of the resort's services while keeping the costs as low as possible. If the cost of goods and services to maintain your resort increases, this increase to the Budget is divided amongst all the Resort Owners so that each pays his fair share of the increase.

      In regard to your concerns about your payments increasing, please be advised that your monthly payments are fixed and do not increase unless there is an agreed-upon mortgage modification.

      Lastly, we were disheartened to read that you may have had some issues booking your timeshare. Please be advised that we have forwarded additional information about your ownership to the email address we have on file.

      Ms. ********, please be advised that Westgate fully complied with its legal duty by disclosing the terms of the rescission period in the Contract for Purchase and Sale. It all seemed incredible, but it wasn't until it was too late that we realized we had been scammed. To try to convince us to make the purchase, they said that we could make a profit by renting out our timeshare. they said we could sell the timeshare. The contract we signed was in English and since we don't understand English, it was up to the vendors to "explain" the contract to us. That's how we got stuck in ridiculous debt. Very unscrupulous on your part! The worst part is that these thieves never disclosed the interest rate on the timeshare price! Don't fall for anything they say! It's all lies and when you have a timeshare with them you can't even use it when you want! Nothing is available when you want to reserve it. What a waste of money! Westgate is getting away with scamming people! Stay away from anything to do with them! If I could give Westgate a worse rating, I would. Westgate is a corrupt company!

      We have been fighting with Westgate for a while now. It is tiresome. This is one of the worst things to be involved with. It sounds great but when the truth of what you signed up for comes to light, it's very ugly. And there's nothing you can do about it. We wish someone would have had some decency to tell us what we were actually signing up for instead of feeding us lies and leading us down the path of lies and financial strain. What's so sad about the situation is that they don't care one bit. When you try to speak with them about it, they tell you their hands are tied. Think again if you want a timeshare with Westgate. Most of everything they tell you is a lie.

      We cancelled our timeshare within 10 business days as agreed and they refused to honor the cancellation agreement. We dealt personally with the Segiels. They never showed us our unit nor have we ever stayed at any of their resort. We actually contemplated revisiting making a purchase in the future. I'm hoping I have a change of heart contingent upon how they resolve my matter. Its not looking good. Itz truly a no brainer for an average Joe, honor a cancellation contract & return $500. and keep the referral monies along with more referrals to come. Gain happy client(s).       Terrible to deal with, I have an offer to sell my time share and they want the remaining balance paid in full, can not escrow money during legal real estate sale like other homes and. Their reason for this is that I am selling to a corporation instead of a private party. I even had my attorney contact the buyer to wire funds to pay off the property prior to deed transfer and agian was told no since they can not receive money from a third party. I feel they are taking advantage of a disabled Veterans and scamming others in they way they keep adding more rules and take away your rights as a property owner that I have the deed to prove.

      That is a complete false statement, the Property Manager from the the West Gate Towers just closed out the transfer of membership request yesterday and told me that I could not reapply for 6 months, so now they are putting a stipulation on how often i can transfer my member ship in a sales transaction.
