      Westgate tricked us into buying a timeshare. In 2010 we went to Westgate for our honeymoon and they offered us some free Disney tickets and I am a Disney fan. They told us that if we go to a 90-minute presentation, they will give us the tickets. Their offers sounded nice, but we still said no. Every time we said no they would just send us another salesperson to try to convince us. The 90-minutes turned into ½ of a day, they kept us there for hours. They put severe pressure on us to buy and wouldn't take no for an answer. We were hungry and I was getting very upset. The original price was around $30,000 and by the time they convinced us it was down to $7,500. The process was so long. My husband said it was a gift to me because I like to travel. Since 2010, I've lost my job 3 times and I never missed a payment. Unfortunately, the maintenance fee keeps getting bigger and bigger, it's ridiculous. They are over$1,500 and they go up every 2 years. While on vacation, the timeshare didn't have the appropriate cooking ware. We had to call to ask for them to bring things like a spatula and a frying pan. The wi-fi was terrible, and since I work from home I fell behind on deadlines. I lost my sister in May of 2017 and I had to pay for her funeral, some of my friends had to donate money to help me afford it. I lost my condo and still had to maintain the payments. I cannot keep living paycheck to paycheck and dependence on others to help me. My mom helps us buy food and my in-laws help us financially too. We have tried several times to get out of our timeshare, but they aren't budging. We cannot afford it, and we are being forced to pay. This financial burden is ruining our lives and our future and we can stand for it no longer.

      We are sorry for any inconvenience you may have experienced due to the length of the presentation you attended and if you felt uncomfortable or pressured in any way. We ask you to keep in mind that the only requirement to receive your agreed-upon incentive was to complete the 90-minute presentation. You could have stopped the presentation at any time as you were under no obligation to purchase. Please understand that Westgate could not control whether you chose to exercise that right, as hundreds of consumers do on a daily basis.

      We understand the concerns you may have regarding your maintenance dues and taxes (M&T). It is important to understand that the M&T represents the only source of revenue available to pay the cost of maintaining your resort. The Owners' Association is responsible for calculating the resort's annual budget and dividing it equitably among all the owners so that each one pays a fair share of the costs needed to preserve the integrity of the resort's services while keeping the costs as low as possible. If the cost of goods and services to maintain your resort increases, this increase to the Budget is divided among all the resort owners so that each pays his fair share of the increase. It is also important to know that all of the M&T paid goes directly to the Owners' Association, and that the Developer pays his share of the M&T on all unsold timeshare weeks at your resort, so he has a vested interest in keeping costs as low as possible.

      Lastly, we are sorry for any issues you may have experienced during your stay at Westgate Town Center Resort. Please be advised that upon review of your account, we could not find any annotation of the issues you allege you experienced. If you experience any issues during a future stay, we encourage you to alert the Front Desk staff immediately. Their function is to intercept any potential problems and work toward providing a solution in a timely manner.

      We have read all about Westgate and have a lot of the same experiences as others on this website. Owning a timeshare through Westgate is nothing but a lifetime of hardship. Having a job that does not allow such free booking really made it difficult to use this at all. Instead of helping us like they said, we were met with more fees and a lack of help that was promised to us. Our situation changed and the ability to travel dwindled even more. With that said, we reached out to Westgate to let them know we were unhappy with the whole thing. They have met us with nonchalance and a dismissive attitude every step of the way. Their responses say that our contract is valid and enforceable, but they have not taken accountability for the misguiding they do. We're very disappointed in Westgate. We want our money back from not being able to use the timeshare and the all around scam of a company that they are. We want to forget they exist.

      I have found out the hard way that Westgate is not a company you want to be involved with. They are borderline scamming people out of thousands of dollars. I have sent them numerous emails asking to have them take the timeshare back so that myself and my family can have just a little bit of relief in these trying times, but they have not listened. As a matter of fact, the last email they sent me said that they would essentially tell me the same things over and over again if I kept complaining. I wouldn't want to be involved with a company like that and I hope to warn other people about the company. WestHATE is what this truly is. They should be ashamed of the way they treat their owners that they "value". If this is value, I don't want it.

      We have gone back and forth for entirely too long. This is enough and we will do whatever we have to. We will leave negative reviews on everything platform that we can find. It is our goal to inform everyone of the scam of a company that Westgate is. We have spent thousands of dollars just to have all of our problems swept under the rug. Westgate has not once accepted any accountability for anything that they have done. Westgate is only concerned with collecting a check from its owners. There is nothing in this world that could convince me otherwise. Hopefully we can save a few others families from the burden that this company is placing on my family.

      To Whom It May Concern: My parents need your assistance in canceling a timeshare and being refunded their money. My mother is in hospice care and her health is continually deteriorating. She is unable to travel at all. My father is not able to travel at all. We have documentation from the hospice my mother is currently at. We have reached out to Westgate many times but are given the runaround. When my parents purchased the timeshare they were disappointed with the quality of the resort. They then started having many medical issues and have been trying to terminate the timeshare for some time now. We have pointed out they are unable to sell or rent the timeshare. Why can they not take it back if the property is so desirable? The company still refuses to deal with my parents, meanwhile my parents are still being charged fees.       Westgate has lead me to the point where I have to give my opinion to the world to hear. We have tired working with Westgate to part ways so we are not held down by the outrageous amounts of money they suck out of us. It is truly saddening to see that companies are still trying to scare people into thinking that they are trapped in this contract. We will not be those people. I will leave a review anywhere possible so people will know the trap they are getting themselves into. No one should have to deal with a company that is only concerned about collecting a check. Westgate does not care for any of its owners. They only want your money. I have tried for over a year to get away and all I have received in return are threats that I will can not get rid of the timeshare and that I have to keep paying or try and sell. Westgate is a terribly ran company and I would stay far away. I hope this helps anyone looking into purchasing with Westgate

      I wonder if Westgate makes all their customers pay an exorbitant amount in monthly and annual fees and keep them from using their timeshare too. I have owned with Westgate since 2019 and I have NEVER been able to use it. What I got versus what they were selling me during the meeting is completely different. This is a useless product. I am highly disappointed with the amount of lies I was told by Westgate. All they wanted was my money and they do not care how badly they screw me over. They pressured and pushed me until I purchased with them. Now, I have paid close to $10,000 and have gotten NOTHING in return. This company is a waste of time and needs to be investigated by the Attorney General for the crimes they commit on a daily basis to unsuspecting people.

      We originally purchased our timeshare with Westgate because of the "investment potential" our salesman told us about. NOTHING about our timeshare has any investment potential. He blatantly lied to us and pressured us into purchasing so he can make easy money. In return for this purchase, we have received NOTHING. Considering how much they are charging us and how much we have paid thus far, we expect something. We have had this timeshare for two years and have yet to stay at any of their locations. Westgate needs to SERIOUSLY reconsider their business plans and who they hire and start providing the benefits they promise before you buy.

      Due to the fact that timeshare real estate sales are highly regulated and contractual in nature, the Developer requires all owners to complete the Acknowledgment of Representations document. Acknowledgments #3 and #5 show that you purchased this property for personal use, that there were no representations made regarding investment or resale potential, and that the Developer does not have a rental or resale program to assist you. You received a copy of this document on the day of sale.

      We can confirm for you that rentals and our referral program are not the same. Review of your closing shows that referrals, wherein you can make commissions, were discussed; however, there is no guarantee of compensation.

      I have owned a timeshare with Westgate for 35 years and I am finally beyond fed up. The customer service has never been good, but since I bought my last timeshare, it's been far worse. The staff is demeaning when you decline presentations and updates. When you do go, its hours and hours of lies and misinformation. Over the years, I found that their "partnership" with Disney does not exist, it's cheaper to stay at Westgate as a non-owner, financial obligations are never presented properly, maintenance fees rise yearly, and then some. Had I known I could never give the timeshares back, I would have walked away long ago. The salespeople will tell you anything to make a sale. Buyer beware!

      First and foremost, we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced due to the length of the presentation you attended and if you felt uncomfortable or pressured in any way. Since there may have been offers presented on a first-come, first-served basis, depending on the available inventory, the representative may have expressed some urgency regarding the offer. However, you were never obligated to remain past the agreed-upon time to receive your incentive, nor were you obligated to purchase a timeshare. As for the update meetings, while we appreciate your attendance at them, they are voluntary, and you are never obligated to attend or upgrade. These meetings are simply a tool Westgate utilizes to advise owners of new developments and opportunities you can possibly take advantage of.

      In regard to your concerns surrounding the Disney resorts, please be advised that as a member of Interval International, you are able to exchange your week for a stay at a Disney resort, based on availability. As for your claim that it is cheaper to stay at Westgate as a non-owner, we ask you to understand that at each property, there are two allotments of inventory: sold and unsold. The Developer pays the HOA on all unsold inventory just as owners, such as you, pay the HOA on sold inventory. Because of this, each of you has control of the usage rights, which will allow you to rent, sell, or use the property any way you see fit based upon availability. That being said, the Developer chooses to use his unsold allotment toward growth (e.g., marketing, 3rd party rentals, etc.), which results in offsetting resort fees. To be clear, this unsold inventory in no way affects your sold allotment's availability.

      As for your concerns about your maintenance dues and taxes (M&T), please be advised that multiple documents, specifically the Contract for Purchase and Sale and Acknowledgment of Representations, indicate that M&T is estimated. Additionally, per the Closing Disclosure, estimated taxes, insurance, and assessments can increase over time. We have forwarded copies of these documents to the email address we have on file. it is important to understand that the M&T represents the only source of revenue available to pay the cost of maintaining your resort. The Owners' Association is responsible for calculating the resort's annual budget and dividing it equitably among all the owners so that each one pays a fair share of the costs needed to preserve the integrity of the resort's services while keeping the costs as low as possible.
