I Purchased a 5 Day 4 Night package for the Grand Wailea for $999 March 27,2022 which Hilton was advertising, they also were advertising the Hilton Waikoloa for $799 for the same amount not time. With tax the package came to $1,173.03. I called every other month because Hilton kept telling me not call back because they didn't have any dates available. Finally Feb 2023 I was able to get dates for July 30 to Aug 03 2023 so it took almost an year just to get a date and then find out it's not the Grand Wailea but they put me up at the Royal Lahaina which not only is a big difference but the Royal Lahaina isn't even a Hilton owned property it's owned by Blacksand Capital. The Hilton tour I'm supposed to take isn't even at the Royal Lahaina why? Because Hilton doesn't own it I have drive about 4 miles to another place for the tour. Hilton Grand Vacations are liars because I would have never paid for the Royal Lahaina I would have paid the $200 less to stay at the Hilton Waikoloa. Hilton doesn't return calls are even emails. I would like a full refund for false advertising or have me stay at the Grand Wailea.

PLEASE READ THIS REVIEW ON HILTON GRAND VACATIONS AND DO NOT TAKE IT AS LIGHTLY AS WE DID. HOPEFULLY THIS CAN SAVE SOMEONE THEIR SANITY AND MONEY.

We were told buying their timeshare would be the best way to vacation, yet NOTHING is ever available. We were at this presentation for almost 6 hours!! In this time, we were never told, about the Maintenance Fees increasing, or that this purchase was in perpetuity. Our Truth and Lending Disclosure WAS NOT COVERED, and I believe it’s federally required to go over that with each and every purchase. They’ll tell you everything you want to hear, and nothing about the facts of the matter. Instead of going on vacation, we are paying their salaries and commissions because we have never been lucky enough to find a reservation.

All timeshares are scams and always have been. Over 85 percent of timeshare owners have buyers remorse. Hilton Vacations is a very sleazy company taking advantage of unsuspecting customers that believe all their lies. If you must buy a vacation package, go on **** and see many timeshares selling for less than $500 and many at no cost. I attended a presentation a week and was shocked how ruthless these leetches were

I had a terrible experience with Hilton Grand Vacations during me and my partner’s trip to Las Vegas over Labor Day weekend in 2022. One of their reps at a kiosk outside The Venetian offered us free tickets to attractions if we attended a presentation about Hilton Grand Vacations (timeshare junk). We agreed and the next day, we were picked up and taken to Polo Towers, where we were subjected to a high-pressure sales pitch about investing in a timeshare. That’s right, they call it an investment (far from the truth!). When we declined, the salespeople became aggressive and wouldn't take no for an answer. We eventually caved in and signed a contract (under suspicious circumstances). The sales representatives repeatedly ignored our stated financial constraints and pressured us into a long-term commitment that we could not afford. We felt violated by their manipulative tactics and the fact that they took advantage of our lack of knowledge about the timeshare industry. We have since discovered that almost everything was a lie, a clever scheme to entrap us into debt. The yearly maintenance fees are very high and it’s not worth what you get. They didn’t disclose to us that the points would expire if we didn’t use them. Availability is a nightmare, good luck ever staying in your timeshare. Don’t believe them when they say you can make a profit from renting out your unit and that it would cover the maintenance fees! This company is nothing more than a scam and it’s disgusting that they continue to get away with it. It is imperative that the public be aware of these violations and avoid doing business with Hilton Grand Vacations.

On 4/6/23 we bought a Hilton Grand Vacation Timeshare. One 4/10/23 we sent a certified letter to the main HGV office in Florida. They received it on 4/11/23. I spoke with Tabitha on 4/11/23 she said I will get my down payment refund in 2 weeks. On 4/25/23 I spoke with Erin and she said I will get my refund in 14 business days. On 5/2/23 I spoke with Eric and he said I need to call the Sales Office where we bought our timeshare. I have beeb calling them for over 15 minutes and no one answers. Ww followed the correct protocol to cancel our timeshare and get a refund. But we still have not been refunded.

Hilton Grand Vacations was the worst experience I've ever received with making a reservation at an hotel. I was contacted by Hilton during the Christmas holidays for an offer by Hilton Grand Vacations. I accepted the offer and made travel plans over the holidays. Now, 5 months later... I take the initiative to contact Hilton to get more information on my trip.
They have the audacity to tell me that they canceled my trip and didn't think to notify me of the cancelation. All I was offered was a refund and no sincere apology. I feel like I was lied to by Hilton representatives and ignored after I booked the trip, made arrangements, paid for flights, and spent my hard earned time and money preparing for a family get-a-away this summer. My heart is wounded. I don't known if I will ever stay at a Hilton again.

We decided to put our trust in Hilton Grand Vacations when they told us that we needed to upgrade to not lose the status we previously had with Diamond. We were convinced this would be the best decision of our lives, especially since Hilton has a reputation for being such a great company. They told us about the many benefits we can gain just by being a member with them, but we now realize that it was all a lie. Originally, we only had enough points to take one vacation a year. However, they told us with this membership we were able to take as many trips as we want at a discounted price. There is nothing “discounted” about paying almost $100,000!! We are in our 60’s and are led to believe that their employees specifically targeted us! Stay far, far away from them. They cannot be trusted.

We are so disappointed with Hilton Grand Vacations and regret ever taking advantage of the “Mini vacation” that was offered to us. Even that process in hindsight was misleading; talking about having access to Disney and Universal as if they were affiliated with them in some way. (They aren’t, by the way). When we attended the required presentation, we were told the following complete falsehoods. The first that stands out, is that this quite expensive investment would increase in value. It has no actual value outside of the intrinsic dream of vacationing in their greatly overstated manner. We have been owners for over five years, and that is how long it truly took us to understand how we have been taken advantage of. We no longer want to be associated with Hilton Grand Vacations programs, because of their endless upsell tactics that were used on us and from what we can tell all the owners.

When we went on the owner updates, they purposefully misrepresented the compounding costs associated with upgrading. These hidden costs have added up exponentially over the years. Between maintenance, closing, exchange, booking, and processing fees, Hilton Grand Vacations is making what is obviously a lot of money by double and triple-dipping on these contracts. We paid more than $10,000 in just maintenance fees alone. The amount of interest Hilton Grand Vacations is collecting is staggering, especially considering they present the product as a real estate investment and are charging credit card interest rates. This product cannot be refinanced by a bank or credit union, because this is not real estate. They simply glaze over the financial portion by focusing on the monthly payments associated with the mortgage loan. The “price” in the end will represent about 30-40% of your costs. We have lost all faith in them at this point.

Our family has owned HGV club properties for almost 30 years. There is clear value if you can pay for the property owned outright. HGV isn't perfect, but if you know the system, be patient. Securing vacation is first come, first serve. You can land some sweet deals and have excellent adventures at a reasonable price.

For example, we just booked a 3-bedroom property in Myrtle Beach. [Ocean view, 1,300 sq ft, full kitchen] It cost us only the $1200 in maintenance fees for the year + a booking fee. However, we landed a primetime spot where a comparable location/sized accommodation would be $4,800. When we saw this, we surmised we indeed, received our money's worth.

Generally, HGV will save you money, and from a generational perspective, heirs will only be stuck with annual dues, which, over time, makes sense for those who have large families. We have three kids and a large extended family, so HGV makes sense and saves money.

Airbnb and many other competitors are out there, but it works for what this is and what our family has.

With all this said, I would not recommend HGV for those who are on tight budgets. You should have some discretionary income to afford the annual dues (their price increases) and the ability to pay for Air Fare to travel around. If you can do that, then there are cheaper options.

The only complaint I have with HGV is that they also allow their properties to be booked by those who do not have HGV. It is straightforward to go online and book a property. Many times on the HGV account, you see that there "isn't any availability," but if you wanted to pay cash, you could get the same property. Therefore, Hilton is likely playing both sides of the game by creating scarcity for HGV owners and non-owners alike. If Hilton didn't do this, it would build greater trust with HGV owners and entice people to buy into the system/have greater satisfaction. This isn't new and similar to what USAA does for our military folks.

I would select -10 as my rating, but it wasn't an option. Just called for information. I was on hold for over 10 minutes. I could hear several "rings" but I got put on hold again after every one. Then I was asked to fill out a survey about the representative that assisted me. There wasn't any ! I then got disconnected. I called back, and was on hold again. Finally someone answered. I was trying to explain that both of the account holders are deceased, and she would not shut up ! I literally could not speak a word. All I wanted to know is how to resolve the account. She told me over and over she could not speak to anyone except the account holders. I've heard these companies are dishonest and VERY difficult to deal with, but that far exceeds any negative feedback I could imagine.
