WARNING: Think twice before signing with Marriott Vacations. My wife *** and I fell into their trap on 2/11/24 at the ************** after meeting with sales *** **** *****. What started as a referral from family turned into our worst financial nightmare. THE LIES THAT HOOKED US: Promised ***** annual points + ***** bonus points - Access to "hundreds of resorts" through ************************ Told we could book ****** World resorts starting January 2025 - They compared it to "real estate" we could pass to our children or sell back - Failed to mention the $400+ annual service fees or that our package would become "obsolete" We put down $3,505 and opened an AmEx card for bonus points, with strict instructions not to pay extra on the mortgage or lose everything. THE REALITY: ************** silence from our sales *** despite ***eated calls. Then came the ambush - what was supposed to be a 90-minute "owner Q&A" on 11/26/24 turned into a 3-hour high-pressure sales call with **** ****** demanding we upgrade to Platinum. She revealed our ***** points were worthless and that we'd been intentionally undersold from day one. By 2/14/25, they flat-out told us our package was obsolete, and ***** points were now the minimum for decent bookings. When we asked to cancel, they said we had to pay off the entire mortgage first. Then they literally ushered us out. ZERO customer service. ZERO transparency. 100% predatory tactics. We've never used a single point or service, yet they continue harassing us to upgrade before we've even experienced what we bought. This isn't timeshare ownership - it's financial entrapment designed to bleed you dry through endless upsells. Save your money and your sanity. Go anywhere else.

Back in early April, during our family trip to ******, we had such a positive experience as a Guest Level that we immediately decided to sign a contract with the ************* and opened Escrow the very next day. However, its now been over two months, and I still cannot see any points when I log in online. This has made it impossible for us to make any summer vacation plans for our kids.Over the past several weeks, Ive contacted Customer Service numerous times, only to be passed around in circles with no clear answer or resolutionjust repeated requests to wait. No one has taken ownership of the issue or provided any real help.I have been more than patient, but this is the final straw. I have decided to cancel. I dont know who will eventually read this message, but I will no longer waste my time on this matter. Every call has cost me nearly an hour, and enough is enough.

Note that this business is not Accredited by the BBB. That should tell you something is not good, and it is worse than NOT GOOD. Unfortunately, I did not know this when I met with their salesperson. In August 2023, me and my wife took a short vacation to ******* after Marriott ************* offered a reduced rate and larger room if we attended a 90-minute presentation. To the opposite of their promise, we were repeatedly presented with misleading and enticing claims that led us to reluctantly purchase a minimal 1500-point plan. We got misled that we could exchange our MVC points for Marriott Bonvoy points at a highly favorable rate, allowing us to stay at premium Marriott properties around the world while visiting our kids and grandkids. We were also told that our points could be used for cruises, concerts, theme parks, and luxury resorts, further adding to the illusion of value. These representations were entirely false. The deception and misrepresentations didnt end there. We learned that *** prioritizes selling inventory to third-party travel sites like Expedia and ***********, leaving *** members with little to no availability. This system prioritizes profit over the interests of owners and renders the program effectively unusable. You can't find a room less than a year away and they are many more points than they told us the rooms would cost. Against my wifes wishes, I made the decision to purchase and (wrongly) assured her that we could recoup our investment or sell the plan if it didnt suit us. Something promised by the representative. That belief turned out to be totally false. Not only is the resale market virtually non-existent, but *** has offered no path for cancellation or relief, short of paying off a $20,000 loan, for a product we cannot use. We had hoped that Marriott ************* would recognize the harm that has been done to us and act accordingly to make this right. Signed a 100% disabled Combat Veteran of the **** and his wife

Marriott ************* representatives made multiple statements regarding ownership that have proven to be false or misleading. The timeshare was pitched as an investment that would maintain or increase in value.2,000 points would be sufficient for a week's vacation every year at a fixed price. We could easily use our points at any Marriott ************* propertiesand the properties were exclusive to members only. All fees for the year were included in the closing costs. The timeshare had resale value and could be sold if needed. Sounds great right; all turned out to be lies. Shortly after our purchase, we received an unexpected bill for approximately $586 in HOA fees, despite being told that all fees for the year were included in our closing costs. When we immediately contacted Marriott ************* to cancel our contract based on this misrepresentation, we were informed that we could not cancel. We made multiple written requests to cancel without seeking any refund, but all were denied. Years later, Marriott finally offered to take back the timeshare only if we paid the loan in full, which remains impossible for us.Seriously, this world is upside down!

SCAM SCAM SCAM RUN!!!! They train their people to sweet talk and entice people with freebies and make things sound perfect & simple. The 90 minute presentation turns into HOURS!!!! The sales *** brings in the manager to act like hes giving you extra points and incentives. Then they send you to the closer who goes over the closing documents and THEN they throw in the maintenance fees youll pay at the end of the year. But its just a small fee for the upkeep of the grounds, its not that much they say. Which now Im reading in ALL THESE REVIEWS saying theyll keep going up and up. They respond with condescension when I called to question this and say you agreed to everything when you signed up but the sales *** NEVER TOLD US WE WOULDVE HAD 10 DAYS TO CANCEL. Theres so much she didnt tell us. I was told when we gave our $3k+ deposit that wed start to pay our monthly payments only. But we hadnt even received our points before they sent us the first bill. When I called customer service, they informed me I would need to move my points over manually BEFORE THEY EXPIRE! The sales *** told us whatever we didnt use, would roll over automatically!!! ****** LIED, and SCAMMED US AND NOW WERE STUCK WITH THIS. THIEVES!!! Its so confusing because they have these different programs where the points mean different things and when I sign in to use my points, I had to pay extra because the points arent enough. Look at how many negative reviews they have SO NOT DO THIS!

We are very sorry to hear of Ms. ********* experience. As disclosed in the purchase agreement, owners sign their understanding and acknowledgement that the salespersons representing the seller in connection with your contract do not have authority to make any statements, promises or representations in conflict with or in addition to the information contained in the contract. Additionally, the recission is clearly explained in bold just above the signature line of the documents you signed at the time of purchase. However, if you feel as though you were misled in anyway and have any documented evidence that supports this claim, we would be more than happy to look into this on your behalf and thoroughly investigate your case. If you would like to open a case, please contact the Customer Advocacy Team at ************ and we will be happy to assist. Additionally, if you need assistance using your points, our goal is to get you on vacation and our ************** Team would love the opportunity to assist you. They can be reached at ************* . While at an Owners Update on my Marriott ************* Membership, I shared with a Salesperson that I was recently widowed, I explained that this visit was part of my grieving process as my late husband, and I had vacationed at one of Marriotts resorts in ******. Despite acknowledging my vulnerable state, they proceeded with an aggressive sales session that lasted over two hours. I was urged to merge two of my existing Marriott timeshares into a new ownership with promises of financial savings, priority access to oceanfront villas, and added flexibility through Club Points. I was also told that if I couldnt use the property, an external firm would be available to rent the weeks for me. These claims, which were made verbally and supported by handwritten calculations, were never reflected in the actual contract documents. I was assured I wouldnt pay more than I already was and that the contract would be easily transferable to my son upon my passing. However, they failed to mention that my son would inherit the ever-increasing maintenance fees. The entire experience was rushed and disorganized. I was hurried through the signing process. I was even encouraged to open a new Marriott Bonvoy **************** card to help with closing costs, which has only added to my financial burden. The Club Points are extremely difficult to use, limited in their transfer options, and expire if not used within a confusing system. As an elderly widow, I feel I was taken advantage of and coerced into a contract that is neither sustainable nor beneficial. The never-ending maintenance fees and high monthly payments are unaffordable, and the misleading nature of the sale has left me with deep regret.

Marriott ************* points are a scam. Purchased points almost can never be used. The vacation club points are a promise that is never filled. The deception of availability during these sales pitches is egregious, watching maintenance fees rise at rates significantly higher than week owners is more deception, but most of all the deception of family fun vacation never filled is what hurts the most. If an investigation was done to track the sales pitch, vs reality someone should be held accountable. Surprised Marriott would associate with something like this unless it's just more corporate greed. If these points lived up to expectations why aren't there more positive reviews, or why wouldn't Marriott buy back your points at reasonable rate. PLEASE help the families seeking to build precious memories vs the mental anguish of trying to navigate the *** system.

Please track call history because I have reached out on multiple occasions. If you truly record the calls you will hear your own staff confirm the point system is a fraud, and they get this complaint all the time. If this is such a lovely financially rewording experience then Marriott should gladly buy back my points. Instead you will give some excuse as to why there isnt a program offered today. With appreciation and higher dollars charged for points today it should be a slam dunk to offer me the same price I paid in 2019. Again your responses will deflect and give some corporate rhetoric rather than logic. Looking forward to the day there is class action lawsuit including criminal charges for Marriotts misconduct. Big corporate greed is fueling litigation these days.

During our recent stay, we were extremely disappointed with the room quality, particularly the poor water quality, which felt unsafe to use even for brushing teeth. On top of that, we were charged a $300 fee for missing a presentation meeting, despite my absence being due to caring for my son and the meetings not being mandatory. This charge feels unfair and unjustified. The Marriott ************* requires an excessive amount of points to book stays, and comparable accommodations can be found online for much less. Weve already spent $1,200 on an Encore vacation package, which also used some of our existing Options, and we still dont understand where that money went. Attempts to cancel a trip within a reasonable timeframe were met with no refunds, adding to our frustration. The contracts are overly complex, and we feel misled throughout this process. We are requesting a refund of the $300 fee and want to cancel our timeshare entirely due to these ongoing issues and poor customer service.***** and ********* ********
