Do not waste your money nor your time on MVC. We are a new customer and already want our money back. We were misled as the MVC sales team mis-represented their offerings during their 90-minute presentation we sat through, as well as during subsequent phone and email conversations. Their website is a "user-unfriendly" mess; constantly being changed, resulting in inconsistent performance and poor usability. Their customer service people are marginally equipped to help and answer questions. We've had numerous problems finding properties that we would like to stay at (lack of availability) and in some cases it would be CHEAPER just to pay the nightly rate at their resorts instead of using MVC Points. The ROI on the $50,000 that we paid is not there and we are hearing that they are constantly raising their annual maintenance fees. WE TRUSTED THE MARRIOTT NAME when we signed on here, as we are decades long Marriott Rewards members (including at the Titanium Level) and never once thought that we would get screwed over like we have been here. J. Willard Marriott should be rolling in his grave if he knew how upset his long time, loyal customers are about the MVC. If Bill Marriott truly cared about his dedicated customers like us, he would have their customer support team respond and refund us as we had requested (and they rejected). This has been a horrible, stressful and anger-filled experience for us, and we felt compelled to inform others so that they can avoid what we are going through.

According to our records, Mr. and Mrs. ******* purchased 4,000 club points in the ABOUND program with a closing date of May 31, 2022.

Over the past few months, our web development team has been working hard to prepare the owners website for changes related to ABOUND, which will provide our Marriott owners with the ability to use their club points to arrange stays at several Sheraton and Westin vacation ownership resorts. Website outages related to enhancements have been brief and typically are scheduled during the overnight hours in order to avoid a disruption in service to our owners. Owner Services is open from 9am to 8pm eastern time Monday through Friday in the event that you need assistance with a reservation or transaction that you are unable to complete on the website. The reservation procedures allow our owners to make reservation requests up to 13 months in advance. Reservation requests are subject to availability on a first come, first serve basis.

We are very sorry to hear about Mr. and Mrs. *******'s frustrations. For assistance with reservations and maximizing their ownership usage we recommend contacting Owner Services at 800-845-4226.

As this is a deeded real-estate purchase, the transaction cannot be cancelled or reversed after closing. Mr. and Mrs. ******* are welcome to list their ownership interests for resale on the external market for a price that they deem fair and reasonable.

I have been an owner with Marriott since the early 2000's and they invite us to the Owner Update meetings all the time. At every update meeting they have pressured us to upgrade our status because they promised us better quality vacations and readily available reservations. We upgraded our contract by buying points and we wish we hadn't. It didn't solve any of our problems and is costing much more than it is worth. No wonder they apply so much pressure because if they were up front with all the costs we would not have upgraded. All we received are higher maintenance fees and mortgage payments for little in return. We have paid over $17,000 in just the last two years to pay for our points. At this rate we will be paying $70,000 over the next ten years just in maintenance fees. It is not worth it. It's sad to see the measures Marriott will use to profit from innocent people.

We are disappointed to receive this negative review from Mr. ****. Mr. **** has been an owner with Marriott Vacation Club since 2003 and he has acquired two deeded weeks and three separate batches of club points over the years. Our sales executives are trained to provide owners with an informative, professional and low pressure sales preview that highlights the benefits of ownership in the ABOUND program. We respectfully disagree with Mr. ****'s allegation that he was pressured into purchasing; however, even if he did feel that way at the point of sale, each purchase allowed him 10 days to cancel the transaction without penalty.

Reservations can be made up to 13 months in advance and all requests are honored on a first come, first serve basis. The reservations rules were shared with Mr. **** during each of his purchases, and he has enjoyed many reservations at various MVC resorts during his tenure as an owner.

Marriott Vacation Club harassed and pressured us into purchasing a timeshare after we repeatedly said "NO". We explained we were not interested. Take our advice, whatever free gifts Marriott Vacations throws at you just say "NO" and run away fast! While using my sister's timeshare in Hawaii, they offered us a free catamaran cruise for attending a sales presentation. Unfortunately, we were stuck there over 4 hours with rotating salesman and constant pressure. They promised we could sell back the timeshare if we decided, so we felt some security in our purchase. They lied to us just about everything. Like how we were purchasing real estate as an investment, and we could rent for a profit too. Complete and utter LIES! We had no intentions of buying a timeshare, but they used deceptive and dishonest sales tactics to manipulate us into signing the contact. They rushed us through the contact signing and did not tell us about the 10-day recession period. We only learned we could cancel within 10 days after we received the contract documents in the mail a month later. Unbelievable! When we tried to book our timeshare in Hawaii, we soon learned we had insufficient points to get an ocean view room as promised. We also were told we could not book in advance with our points, and it was impossible to find any availability. We sent a letter stating the dissatisfaction we had with their service and the disappointment we felt every time we wanted to go on vacation thanks to Marriot, we also wrote in the letter everything we stated here and asked to be let out of our contract as we felt we had been lied to numerous times by Marriot. They wrote back saying our arguments weren't true and basically called us liars. They told us they would not let us out of our timeshare and then proceeded to write that we should go on a vacation using our Marriot timeshare and maybe that would alleviate our frustration. Don't let Marriot Vacation Club sink its teeth into your wallet.

We are very sorry to receive this 1-star review from Mrs. ******. In review of Mrs. ******'s ownership profile we see that she has purchased into the Marriott Vacation Club Destinations Program on multiple occassions since first becoming an owner in 2017. Our sales executive do not use high pressure sales tactics, rather associates are trained to provide guests with a relaxed, informative and professional sales preview that highlights the benefits of vacation ownership with Marriott. In addition, all new purchasers are given a 10-day rescission period, during which time they may cancel for any reason. The 10-day rescission period is disclosed just above the signature line of each contract in bold, conspicuous font.

Our organization provides every new owner with a thorough Quality Assurance Checklist. This document includes important disclosures to ensure that no miscommunication can occur with respect to the resale, rental or investment potential of the ownership interests being purchased. Mrs. ****** signed and initialed her Quality Assurance Checklist acknowledging that no misinformation about the investment potential of provided by her sales executive on the date of purchase.

The number of points required to stay at our 60+ resorts in various villa size and view types are clearly disclosed on the owner's website, as well as within the purchase collateral information received when the Destination Points were acquired. Since becoming owners Mrs. ****** has used her points for stays at: Marriott's Aruba Ocean Club, Newport Coast Villas, Grand Chateau, she has also redeemed her points for **** Rental Car certificates.

In review of Mrs. ******'s purchase disclosure documents and account history it appears as though she was provided with all off the information that was necessary to make an informed purchase decision. She has also showed an understanding of the reservation rules by successfully planning no less than 9 completed stays since becoming an owner.

I had a credit of $843.64 for two people for ***************.
So I contact *************** to use my credit, but they said the credit is with Marriott Vacations.
I booked trip to use the credit from Houston to Las Vegas with Marriott Vacation.
Gave the my card information to charge the $95 difference, but today I seen a new magical cost after I book this flight 5 day ago is $1,223.80 but United has the same flight for $925.80 if I booked today.
Get this, Marriott Vacation then changes my card $380.16 today. I still do not have a receipt and then when I speak to them they tell me no we only charge $95 on your card on the 10th.

Mrs. ******* has filed her review with the incorrect organization. Marriott Vacations Worldwide is a vacation ownership company comprised of 650,000 members whom hold deeded ownership rights at Marriott, Westin and Sheraton vacation ownership resorts. Mrs. ******* may have obtained her flight credit through Vacations by Marriott, which is an entirely different organization.

Do not make the same mistake I did. I put my trust in Marriott Vacations Club to be honest and thoroughly read and explain my contract to me before I purchased a timeshare from them. What they did was lie and rush me through the signing. The reading and signing of the contract took less than 15 minutes, which should have been a HUGE red flag. I highly recommend to avoid doing business with Marriott Vacations because they will screw you over. If you find yourself in the same situation I was in and you are about to sign the contract, here are some top tips for understanding contracts, courtesy of ******:

Don't accept verbal agreements (Marriott loves to make those)
Read the WHOLE thing - no matter how long it takes
      Read it more than once
Ask questions (which they will discourage you from doing)

Understand what should be included and what's missing. (Marriott tends to leave out many fees you will need to pay like they did with us)

In review of Mrs. ******** ownership profile we see that she has made three separate purchases with our organization over the past 16 years. The contract review process is very thorough and each new purchaser is provided with a detailed Quality Assurance Checklist that highlights all of the most important aspects of the vacation ownership program. This is to ensure that no confusion can take place about things like cost of ownership, reservation rules, benefits, etc. In addition, owners are allotted 10 days from the date that they sign their contract to review and familiarize themselves with the details of the vacation ownership program. Owners may cancel anytime within that 10 day rescission window.

Do Not buy Marriott Vacation Club!!!!! The maintenance fees have gone up, I have 1 week every year and 1 week every other year, and I pay over $4,000 a year. I used to justify the cost, but now it is almost impossible to book a vacation anywhere. It is not worth it!!!!

We are disappointed to receive this 1-star review from Mrs. ****** having been an owner at Marriott's Maui Ocean Club sine 2005. Maintenance fees are determined by each resorts Condominium Ownership Association, which is made up of owners like Mrs. ******. Those fees are used for the general upkeep of the resort and day to day operational expenses such as landscaping, utilities, pool maintenance, etc.

Reservations can be requested up to 12 months in advance (13 months for multiple week owners making their reservations consecutively or concurrently), and are honored on a first come, first serve basis. There is a week at the resort for each deeded owner. If Mrs. ****** needs assistance making a reservation at her home resort, she is welcome to contact our Owner Services office at 800-845-4226. Owner Services hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 9am to 8pm eastern.

My wife and I have booked a trip to Maui. We purchased Avis rental car certificates with our points and our points were taken two months ago. I have spoke to several customer service reps and managers. I was told the certificates would be issue a week later. I called and was told it would take another three weeks. After that three weeks, I called again and was told there were issues with a new "system" they had and I would receive them in another week. Here we are 8 weeks later and still no certificates. I asked to receive the money for the points so we could rent the car on our own, and was told "we don't do that." The company was happy to take our money but is terrible at helping customers. We have struggled to book vacations due to the limited number of units that are available to vacation club owners. This whole thing is a scam and I would highly suggest that anyone considering ownership to not do it. Maintenance fees could be spent on actual vacations and you can go were you want without limitations if you just book it on your own. We spent $25,000, which was supposed to be an investment, but you can't even get a fraction of that amount back if you sell your ownership points. BIGGEST REGRET OF OUR LIVES!!! We have a trip booked to Maui and I may warn anyone that that is may go to a sales presentation not to do invest in this horrible product. Total misrepresentation of what you will actually have access to. I just want my rental car taken care of and we will do everything w can to sell our ownership.

Jennifer *************, Chairmans Club **** ***** ***** **** ********* ** 91206-1435 July 20, 2022 MARRIOTT Brian ****** Corporate Headquarters. Marriott International, Inc. 10400 Fernwood Road Bethesda, MD 20817 RE: EXTREME DIFFICULTY WITH MY MVC OWNERSHIP AND BONVOY ACCOUNT History of problem: Late 2020 I bought $53,000.00 worth of vacation club ownership. I was never given a breakdown of the costs, nor did I have any idea how much the sale would cost me until the final title documents came in. And, I have no idea what fees were covered in the purchase. The title on the ownership was incorrect at the closing. I waited until the title was correctly noted in the documents. I took title for this interest as “The Jennifer ************* Trust dated 2011”. Your internal staff coded this as The Jennifer Trust dated 2011. Completely ignoring my hyphenated last name of *************. How did I learn of this? When I went to the Marriott Resort at Las Vegas in 2021. The staff including the manager was unable to find my reservation. Of course, I had no idea that you had omitted my last name in the reservation. And you had incorrectly used an old email to send me the confirmation. Luckily I was able to use my Bonvoy points to stay at a Westin nearby. I was very embarrassed and my guests were inconvenienced as well. After HOURS of telephone conversations, you still have my name incorrectly listed. This is a problem as I pay my maintenance fees but they are not credited to my account due to the lack of ******** ***** in my name. I am having more problems even a year and a half later. I receive letters stating I have not paid my maintenance fees; when I have and have proof from my credit card company. Now, I am locked out of my Bonvoy for no reason. Help

We just got back from Maui Ocean Club.... We are Presidential owners and it was an awful experience . They gave us the room after 5 hr and 30 minutes wait , well pass check-in time which was at 4 pm. For the inconvenience they told us they would have put $50 credit on our account and got the bill no credit was posted . But worse then everything was the room assignment. We book an island view and we got a parking garage view . We complained considering my presidential status and was told there are clients with way more points then me and manager on duty was really rude . I won't recommend spending thousands of dollars like we did when you get treated so bad . Just rent or stay away from marriott vacanti in club . There is a better way to spend your money and they deserve to go bankruptcy considering how they treat their high end clients

We are very sorry to learn of Mr. ********* negative experience while visiting Maui Ocean Club. We will ensure that he receives the promised $50 folio refund as offered by the front desk.

The villa assigned to Mr. ******* is considered to be island view. Some villas do have better views then others and our front office team honors specific villa requests to the best of their ability. Unfortunately, the resort was 100% occupied last week, leaving no opportunity to move Mr. ******* to a different villa.

The way that our request process works is based upon an owners length of stay. Owners staying for multiple weeks are given priority when it comes to villa requests, followed by owners staying at least 7 nights, followed by an owners staying less than 7 nights.

We just gave back our parents' time share to Marriott - Sable Palms in Orlando. My father is 95, and he had purchased this time share 40+ years ago with my mother, who is deceased. I want people to be aware of the ridiculous process we went through just to "give back" this time share (it's worthless, so there's no "selling" involved). I told the "repurchase team" that my father is 95, in a wheelchair, and has dementia. However, throughout the process they were the opposite of helpful, kind, or compassionate. The process they initially described was very simple - just sign some forms, send back, and they will take care of the closing. In reality, they ended up not accepting the power of attorney form that ALL other banks and institutions I've dealt with had accepted. So we had to pay a notary to go to my father's assisted living facility, I had to help him sign the paperwork, and then we mailed it back. While I was waiting for his lucidity to be OK for the signing (challenging with dementia), Marriott continuously sent me emails stating that I had 10 days for the paperwork to be returned. Again, more unnecessary stress and more emails I had to send to them in response (calling is useless, as I was usually put on endless hold when I called). Marriott required us to send my mother's ORIGINAL death certificate (the only one we have), and which they will supposedly return to us (we'll see if they do). After the documents were mailed, I didn't hear back for weeks - so I contacted the office and they said they had not received the documents. I checked with Fedex, and of course the package had been delivered. So when I called Marriott back, they admitted that they had the documents - just an "error" that caused me even more stress. PLEASE stay away from this "vacation club." They are incompetent, unhelpful, and insensitive to a disabled 95-year old man who was loyal to them for decades. I see from the numerous other complaints that I'm not alone in my opinion.

We are very sorry to hear about the negative experience that Ms. ********* had while assisting her father with deeding back his ownership interest. Marriott Vacation Club ownership interests are considered a form of deeded real-estate, so we must follow the appropriate legal requirements to convey ownership of the interest back to the organization. We offer a deed back program as a convenience to our owners who have used the program for several years and, for one reason or another, do not want to sell it on their own, or pass it down to their children.
