I recently registered my vehicle in Pennsylvania. Normally, when the registration can’t be processed electronically, the state issues a pink slip registration, which serves as a temporary registration while the paperwork is completed. Despite having a valid parking sticker and current license plate, this towing company attempted to tow my vehicle, claiming the plate didn’t belong to it. Fortunately, I arrived home around 2 AM and was able to stop them. The tow truck drivers from this company are nothing but greedy opportunists, trying to take vehicles without any regard for whether the towing is justified or if the owner can afford the fees. They had no right to tow my car. Be cautious if you deal with this company, and if they illegally tow your vehicle, don’t hesitate to file a complaint with Hillsborough County and take legal action against them. To the property owners who hire this company: have some decency. After charging us high rents, there’s no need to squeeze even more money out of tenants by using predatory towing services.

Wrongfully towed my mothers car from the condo parking. The car was insured, registered, had a sticker and parked legally in the parking lot, in font of the condo she and I own. Walked out to the parking lot to find her car gone, I was taking her for Chemo that morning. Inexcusable theft for profit. How do you sleep at night towing away cars for profit? Oh thats right you dont youre busy slithering in the dark of night taking peoples possessions and holding them for ransom.

      Good Morning, *****,

I am sorry for what you're dealing with, with your mom. Is this the ***** ****** from ************ apartments that an * ******** picked up on the 18th? If so, this vehicle did not have a License plate displayed on the vehicle anywhere. The community requires all residents and their guests to have a valid license plate on their vehicle at all times it is on property. This vehicle did not have one anywhere on the vehicle, so this was a valid tow under *** ******, and the party * ******** paid the correct rates per *** ****** for the vehicle being impounded and in storage from May 20th through June 18th of 2025.

Now, if this isn't the vehicle you are referencing (since you didn't quite give any information to go off of) please feel free to provide the make/model of the vehicle and location of the tow and I am happy to address that for you to clear up any confusion you may have.

I left my apartment to find my car missing. I called 911 to find out my car was towed. When I contacted the company they stated my car was illegally parked in handicap and I explained I have a placard. They stated they were within the law because it was not displayed. I said but I have proof is there anyway around that..NOPE! I asked where I can come to get my car. They said they can only do by appointment and I had to wait till 11:47 and it was 10:52 when I called. The person of the phone states it was going to cost 459.10 unless card then it’s 477.46. I went at my time and the guy stated there is a Lien fee that is automatically placed due to State Laws and there is nothing they can do about that. I paid unhappily but still did it. When I was researching more the law says they cannot put a Lien unless it’s at least 6 hours plus no storage fee. This leads me to the business side of this, not only did they make me wait till after the 6 hour mark by a few minutes but they also told me the charge of it well before. The person there stated the lien is placed immediately. How is this possible? So I fail to see how this is good business, it seems very shady, when I got in my car the placard must have fallen because it was on the floor. Not saying they dropped it but it was put up before I left my car otherwise it would have been in my glove box. For added fun my sons wheelchair was in the back and he has a hard time getting around thus the handicap.

24 minutes ago New Rated 1.9 stars for a reason . The owner is a douche bag who doesn’t take accountability for anything in life and his staff have the same grimey manner . Just some rodents who’d do anything for a bite of cheese . Owner will probably say that his staff wear body cams or have there audio recorded when you complain about there professionalism . Owner won’t take responsibility when his staff wrongfully tow cars . The owner’s staff aren’t really careful either when it comes to handling property. Overall trash company , trash staff and trash Owner. Be better HUMANS…ESPECIALLY YOU JUSTIN HELLER!!!

      Good morning,

We absolutely do admit when we are in the wrong. do you have a specific complaint over a vehicle being towed? While I admire the time it took you to create a specific email just for this complaint, you didn't put anything in your complaint that has any validity. We get no one likes being towed but we are merely doing a job we are contracted to do. I'm assuming from your choice of verbiage you were towed by us?

My car was towed from my place of residence at which my vehicle is registered. I was over charged for getting my vehicle out of commtow's possession. I was unjustly charged $438. my vehicle was picked up right before 6am and I called almost 7am when I was trying to head to work. I was charged $250 lien release on top of tow which does not comply with the tow ordinance in Pinellas County. According to Pinellas County website it states $40 lien release. ******************************************************* Commtow stated the fee is a law from the state of Florida and I have to pay it. I look up the law and tow companies have to comply with the county ordinance which Commtow is not.

Hello *********. Your ***** RX was not towed because it was in a visitor space as you claim, it was towed because you put a bogus invalid license plate on it that isnt for that vehicle and not just that, the ************** license plate you put on it hasnt been registered to any vehicle since January of 2024, 1 year and 4 months ago. We confirmed this with local law enforcement and got a case number which was provided to you as well. I do not understand why you would do a bad review and make up a reason you were towed when you were told on a recorded line the reason you were towed as well as its listed on the itemized reciept you were given when you picked it up. What is even more mind blowing outside of you fabricating this complaint, is as of right now, 2:23pm on April 11th of 2025 you still have yet to get your ***** Registered with the State of *******, you are still in violation of a State Statute and the Community rules. Instead of jumping online and making up some reason that isnt real to leave a business a 1 star review, maybe put the same effort into getting your vehicle compliant with the State Law as well as community rules. Would save you alot of frustration I would think. If you do not live at that apartment community you have no business bringing that vehicle there as its unregistered and uninsured. If you do live at that community you agreed to these rules when you signed your lease. You also agreed to the Florida Law to keep a vehicle insured and currently registered anytime you keep a vehicle in the State of Florida out in the open.

This company is an absolute joke of a business. They scam people, have terrible practices, a completely rude attitude, and they deserve to be shut down completely at this point.

      Good Morning ****,

You did not provide any information regarding your opinion. Where you towed by us? I show in our system we have never had any business dealings with you so I am a bit confused on such a strongly worded opinion when weve never had any business dealings with you or someone with your last name for that matter. So if you wish to provie valid information to substantiate your complaing I would be happy to research your complaint however I do not see where a "**** *******" has had any interaction with us this year.

The car was towed at 11 pm, and picked up at 11 am. There was a lien placed on the car that cost me $250. Also, I was charged a storage fee of $30 for a 12 hr. stay. Then there was an $18.72 sur charge on the bill for using a credit card. This is ridiculous. Would never use these people if I needed a tow.

      Hello Connie,

While I understand your frustration as no one likes being impounded, you gave a 1 star review for the rates you were charged. Please understand we have no say in the rates as they are governed by both county and state legislature. You paid the correct rates and storage is applied at 6 hours per Florida State Statute. A lien is filed instantly when your vehicle is impounded and you signed the Lien Release Form acknowledging this, so I am not sure why you gave a 1 star reveiw. We merely did a job we are contracted to do and charged you the rates we are required to charge so I dont see the complaint here or what, if any merit is behind it.

Unhelpful, rude, unprofessional and scammy business practices. Have wrong information posted on signage to make it difficult for customers to locate their vehicle so they can charge more. Two workers also rushed me when I was picking up my car and told me to hurry up and move already even though it had damage from issues they caused. Absolutely scammy practices and terrible employees. Even worse employers.

      Good morning David,

I see you parked your Toyota Corolla in a Visitor space with a invalid License plate that did not belong on that vehicle. This is a standard rule of any apartment complex in the State of Florida, not to mention a rule of the community you were in. If you are a resident there, you agreed in your lease to keep any vehicle you bring on site, legal in lawfully operating order (registered with a valid license plate, insured etc) or you "Would be towed at the vehicle owners expense". If you are a VISITOR visiting that community, it is the resident you were visiting's responsibility to advise you of the community rules. Our signs with our toll free 800# are located at every entrance of that community that go to our 24/7 dispatch not to mention a simple google search will provide you with all of our locations if you didnt want to call and ask where to go, and what to bring etc. You could have even called 911, the Police would have gladly given you our address as they knew where the vehicle was, (thats the case number on that reciept you were given). To address your second half of your complaint, we towed your car exactly how Toyota suggests, its a pretty simple vehicle to tow and there was no damage done to your vehicle in that process by our staff. To that point our staff documented all the pre existing damages on your vehicle, all the dents, dings, scratches, faded paint, chips in your windshielf, missing pieces in your front bumper (the list goes on). Our staff also will try and hurry a process along as the rates do go up per the county so we attempt to get the vehicle picked up as soon as possible.

The State of Florida doesnt have any record of your car being registered currently so I would recomend before you call a company "Scammy", maybe follow the State Law and get your car properly registered before you leave it unattended in an apartment complex that has "Towing Signs" all over at every entrance. In closing, I get it, you didnt like being towed, but to fabricate such a complaint isnt exactly how a professional adult responds to a company just doing its job that it was contracted to do that posts their signs at every entrance (you literally drove this car past a TOW AWAY ZONE sign).

We had friends staying at our apartment after Hurricane Milton so they had AC and a hot shower. The apartment complex has suspended towing for people to be able to be safe when sheltering. On the 5th day (when the supposed suspension was lifted) they towed our friends. When we reported this to the apartment complex we were told they were still not supposed to be towing because of the state of emergency. They assured us they were calling to reiterate the suspension on towing. Our friends are without power, food, and jobs currently due to the hurricane. To tow and charge $500 to a family in need is disgusting practice.

I am deeply sorry for your friends, we were all affected by this hurricane. We were not towing while we were under a state of emergency, we actually were not towing for 5 days until more than 48 hours after the hurricane departed Florida. In regards to your friends vehicle being towed, while I am sorry for their not having any power, you are supposed to instruct your visitors to park in visitor parking. That is in your lease agreement you signed as well as the addendum for your community.
