1 starUnbelievably rude and unprofessional. One guy gave us extreme attitude when we asked him a simple question and started sassing back 2 young girls, his name was Michael. We waited in a really bad area of Tampa for over 1hr and 30 minutes, 4 young girls for someone to show up and missed the appointment time frame. He was so rude and shut the window on me mid conversation and just walked out without giving me my car. I asked what his name was and proceeded to keep ignoring me and got in his car and drove away leaving me stranded in the dangerous parking lot at 1am. He had a long ponytail and beard with gages and earrings. Completely inappropriate and unprofessional unaccommodating employees. I hope you get put out of business.Review fromLuis R

1 starOn Monday the 16th, I took my mom to her dentist appointment. On our way back home, the car died in the middle of the road. We had to pay a towing company to take the car to my apartment complex Foxcroft . The tow truck driver dropped the car in a position that is not acceptable in my complex. I took the dead batteries out of the car and took it to my apartment to charge it . I planned to return in the morning to move the car. However, when I returned, the car was gone. Thanks to Commtown, I now owe $698. I probably can't pay that amount. I think Commtown should have left a warning before towing my car, especially since the car broke down in the middle of the street and I had no choice but to park it in that position. also my other car broke on saturday my daily i dont know what to do now this like a *** nightmareCommTow, LLC

Good afternoon,
I am sorry for your moms car breaking down. To your point, how are we to know a vehcile is broken down and a 3rd party parked it incorrectly? We merely do a job we are contracted to do and we charge rates both the County and State of ******* regulate. To your own admission you knew the vehicle was parked wrong, you should have pointed this out to the tow truck driver so they could have placed the vehicle correctly in the spot you advised them to put it in. Also waiting a day to move it in a tow away zone is admittedly not the best idea. I am very sorry for what is going on with your vehicles but please understand we are just doing a job that you agreed to us doing when you signed your lease, much like any apartment complex. They do put these rules in your lease that you initial too when you sign it as well as give you an addendum that goes over all the rules.

1 star****** ****** and Commtow Towing are absolute PREDATORS, scammers and horrible customer service to boot! Just scammy all around. We got towed last month, 2 miles, at a cost of $550 (!). The invoice was padded with "city fees" that are completely bogus. I know how to file an official complaint and did. Quickly received a response from Hillsborough County Code Enforcement that they are "building a case" against this crooked company and indeed have over 12 certified complaints against them, and counting!! So, here's your ACTION - If you want to get your fees back AND get this business cited for fraud, contact HC Investigator ***** ******** WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE, begin by filing an official complaint with them. This guy has quite a reputation already! THANKS!!CommTow, LLC

Good afternoon ********,
While I am sorry for your frustation, you were charged accurately with both County governed rates as well as state imposed fees. We operate under the letter of the law and you can simply ****** these fees to see they are accurate. FSS ****** covers this as well. Even *************************** explained to you you were mistaken on how you read the reciept and you were charged the correct rates, she confirmed this in email with me back in August. Your daughters vehicle was parked where she didnt pay to park as the sign instructed her. The tow was valid as we advised you of such back in August as well, had she paid to park and followed the directions on the sign infront of her vehicle when she parked, she would not have been towed. We merely do a job that we are contracted to do, we do not get to set our own rates nor do we set the rules. We just tow the vehicle and we also charge what the county/state advise us we are to charge. Your complaints were already addressed as well as your time lines were corrected when you emailed us all of your complaints, we also pointed out they were innacurate complaints as well as Hillsborough County advised you of such.

1 starThis is a predatory company seeking to charge you as much as possible to get your vehicle back. If youre here, you likely agree this company and others like it are evil.CommTow, LLC

Good Morning ****,
You didnt provide any specifics regarding why you were towed but to address your complaint, the rates we charge are governed by both the county and the state. We are told how much we can charge, we do not get to make up rates as we please for impounded vehicles. The rates are largely set by the county commissioners in the county you were towed in.

1 starI would give them a zero!! I was moving my son into university of ***** at his apartment complex next thing I know I come out and my truck is gone. 475 dollars later. I go to pick it up at 930 in the morning which they had it for a few hours as I was looking for it. We are from New Jersey and we’re Devastated to think they could allow this while moving and unloading his furniture. We went to get truck and he was drunk at the window at 930 in the morning! It was degusting! They said they put a lien on my truck for 250 dollars Florida rules. I told them I will pay it all but don’t try and think you own my truck with this so called lien. He told me to call my insurance and bank where I pay my loan to and deal with them! What does that have to do with my truck being towed?? He said Florida makes the rules not Comm towing!! ***!! When we return to NJ I will call my attorney!!Review fromEaston R

1 starAbsolute dirtbags. I understand the legality so I am not here to argue whether it is technically legal to charge $480 to retrieve a car from a Commtow lot, but rather point out how disgusting, immoral, and predatory this company is. They will claim the rates are set and that they have no control over them, which is completely untrue. THEY decide to charge the maximum allowed amount in every category (tow fee, storage, mileage fee, admin fee, etc.), likely kicking back a percentage to their clients in the process. Someone please let me know how and why it costs them $250 to process a lien admin fee. They cant because it is simply another way to squeeze as much money out of people as possible.Review fromTerrill P

1 starI think charging $585 for a tow because I was backed in to a lawful spot, where no signs are posted in criminal. ******************* is where I was towed. Absolutely outrageousCommTow, LLC

Hello, I am sorry for your frustration with the tow bill. Please understand we do not make or govern the rates, those are set both by the county the vehicle is towed in and the State of Florida by both State Statutes and local ordinances.
Regarding the reason you were towed, the community notified all residents of this rule, so if you are a resident you were notified this rule was in effect or if you were a guest of a resident it is their responcibility to inform you of community rules. You were also parked in Resident Parking and do not have a permit registered to your license plate that is on the vehicle.
The tow is valid under *** ****** and you paid the correct rates for an after hours release of a vehicle that was left with windows down that we had to put plastic over to protect.

1 starThe absolute worst!! I have never experienced such disgusting customer service! I politely asked for a better understanding/explanation of the Florida statue ****** section 15(a) effective July 1, 2024 that he kept referring to 15(a) for the additional $250 mandatory charge A lienor or the lienors agent may charge an administrative fee to the registered owner or a person claiming a lien against the vehicle or vessel to obtain release of the vehicle or vessel from the claim of lien imposed under this section. Such administrative fee may not exceed $250 i was charged $522.86 for them to release my vehicle back to me. Commtow towed my vehicle from an apartment for parking in a regular spot, the apartment did not have any visitor parking available anywhere on the property there was NOT a lien on my vehicle. After going back and forth I made my payment as they were not going to remove any charges and of course I needed my vehicle. I requested an itemized receipt and was told I would receive it after my payment. I signed a yellow invoice and for the itemized receipt he said my signature had to match my drivers license he reprinted the invoice 4 times because he kept saying my signature did not match!! IT IS MY SIGNATURE and when I was about to take a picture of it he snatched the paper away and said it did not match. RIDICULOUS! Again after going back and forth he finally gave me my vehicle.CommTow, LLC

Good afternoon, I am sorry for your frustration however I would like to clarify a few things for you that you seem to be misunderstanding. The Florida Lien Release fee is an individual fee, that is not the entire tow bill. That fee is for us to release the Lien we have on your vehicle when we tow it to our impound facility.
Our employee was asking you to sign your credit/debit card slip with the same signature that is on your Drivers License. You were not signing it any where close to a legible signature so when someone does that, we kindly ask them to sign it legibly so we have the proof we need incase that customer decides to dispute the charges.
The only going back and forth was you refusing to pay and asking for discounts, our staff explained the statute the Lien Release fee is under which you looked up for yourself. When reading that stutatue it says that is an independent fee to be charged, not an all encompassing fee.

1 starOn March 27 I arrived in Florida to visit my ailing brother. I arrived at 10 pm. That's the address of my 78 year old brother. The next morning 6 am and I go out to get coffee and my car is missing. I called the Bradenton Police department and they said the Commtow towed my car. There are no signs saying your car will be towed and where it will be towed to. I got an Uber to Commtow and they said it was towed because I backed in the parking spot. Are you kidding me? I did so I could take out my luggage That cost me $186.75. Ok so I learned my lesson so the next night I park front in and the same thing happens and my car is towed again. This time they said I didn't have a parking permit sticker in my window. My brother hasn't driven in 10 years and he has dementia. He doesn't know anything about the parking situation. This time it cost me $195 to the exact same towing area. I have to believe CommTow has a scam going on and being ambulance chasers and drive around looking for violations. I believe this is abuse and should be looked into. Please let me know what legal action I can pursue to get my money back or at least bring it to the attention of the Attorney General Office or appropriate authorities. This is just not right. No signs saying park in visitors parking only. Go to the office and get a permit.. Park only front in. Please let me know who I can continue this conversation with. I was out of the country for 30 days and I just got my Credit card bill\ and I hate to think how many cars they have towed. This just isn't rightCommTow, LLC

Hello *****, I am sorry to hear about your frustration while taking care of your brother. Unfortunately we do not make the rules, we merely enforce the rules we are contracted to enforce for the community. Now while I do understand your frustration, I wanted to shed some insite on why your ********* ****** was towed twice for 2 seperate violations.
The community does not allow backed in parking, this has been communicated to their residents time and time again in writing, while I do understand the situation with your brother, he signed a lease and agreed to all these rules and that he also agreed to notify any visitors he *** have of the community parking rules and regulations.
First time you were towed was for being backed in, if your brother didnt communicate this rule to you, that is betwee you and your brother, the second time you calimed was right away, and that you parked in the same exact spot. Unfortunately that isnt true, it was over 24 hours since you retrieved your vehicle and you parked in a different spot than you were in when you got towed for backing in. Both spots you were in are resident spots, there is no "VISITOR" on the ground, the spots you are supposed to park in are labeled "VISITOR" in bold, reflective white 12 inch letters.
Now I can understand with your brothers medical condition, you will probably say, " Due to his circumstances, how is he supposed to let me know what the rules are?" and thats a great question, if you are aware your brother is elderly and unable to communicate rules/regulations required, you might have thought after the first time you got towed to ask him to see his lease so you can better understand the community rules if you are going to continue visiting him, or even to take that a step further, help your brother by communicating these rules to other family members that *** in fact also be visiting him to help with whatever is needed.
While I understand you dont feel this is right, this was a completely lawful tow under FLS ****** as well as in accordance not just with the state, but the counties ordinances that you were towed in, down to the correct rates the county requires we charge. In closing if you are visiting someone who is unable to advise of what rules are what/where, it *** be best to ask someone who can.
