On March 4, 2023, door to door sales representatives approached me and I allowed them to enter the home and inform me of the product being solar panels. The sales team assured me that no charges will take place and filling out their paperwork "to see" of a potential project. After a roof inspections was conducted and and the potential cost of the solar panels. I verbally informed them that I did not want the panels due to the cost and i already having solar panels. They attempted to convince me and I did not reply. On June 14, 2023, I was billed $4,689 for a project cancellation that I did not want. The sales team were deceptive and rushing me sign paperwork and verbally stating that no charges will ever be accrued. I have attempted to resolve the issues with their lender which is Solcius LLC. They were called on 06/14/2023, and recommended for me to talk to the sales team to address the issues. I have attempted to resolve the issue and was informed in order for the cancellation fee to be waived I would need to initiate the project to have the solar panels installed. I respectfully declined and stated they needed to solve the issues in which they have ignored. Solcius LLC reported on 06/16/2023, that I required to pay since Merakaki will not want to take responsibility.Business Response

I am filing a complaint against this company because in August of 2022 my family was lied to from the start. We were told that this system would replace our electric bill and we would no longer have an electric bill. We could then use that money to pay the loan payment for the device setup we received. After explaining to them (in person at my dining room table) that there would be no way that we could make this payment unless what they were saying was true, they guaranteed us that it was not a problem. Sales even went so far as to tell us that if the system had not taken over the electric bill, they personally would make the loan payments until it did. When we contacted them, they blocked our calls and messages, completely negating any responsibility for the negative predicament we now have at hand. After having 23 panels ground mounted and waiting 6 months the biggest rebate, we have received on our electric bill is $40.00. The system does not produce anywhere near the amount that we were told. The system is producing an average of 316 kwh per month. We need 1942 kwh per month and then we would still have a bill from the electric company for around $50.00 to pay for the meter. After several times (somewhere around 8 times) of calling and informing them that the system was not producing as promised they sent technicians out (same person every time) always claiming the system is producing just fine. Everything from them has been a lie. I even have what they claimed in writing. We are also in default with GoodLeap because of their lies.Business Response

Thank you so much for contacting us.
The initial proposal you received is based on your utility bills before installing and utilizing the solar panels. The amount of energy you're now using may have increased, thus leading to higher electricity bills than predicted.
You can maximize your solar panel production by regularly rinsing your panels and monitoring the weather to plan your energy consumption accordingly.
In order to perform a system evaluation, we will need you to send in six months' worth of your utility bills after the solar panel installation, and we will then be able to assess the system properly.
We are so sorry to hear that you were unable to get in contact with our sales team. If you have any supporting documentation regarding this matter, please send them to our OneStop team at ***************************.
Again, we thank you for reaching out and hope to offer you a prompt solution.

MERAKI installed solar panels at my home saying that federal government would give us back $26,000.00. They made an email address account that its not mine. They signed for me, as I never got to sign anything. Now the financial corp. is trying to make me pay instead of them paying me and they ruined my credit when I decided not to pay as this is a big fraud. Please contact me to tell you all the scam made by 2 people who worked for them in this scam and fraud. There are people that I dont know involved in this. I dont want the panels I pay for my energy to Duke more than I paid before the panel. They convinced me by telling me I would pay nothing cause they would generate 119% of solar energy. I just got an email saying I have to pay $359.77 that it was not the amount authoticed by me. Please help me. There must be other people suffering with this company fraud.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: we would like to know the dollar amount we will receive prior to agreeing to how much they consider the cancelation fee to be.
Sincerely,
Frances / Tina ****** / *****the new contract with both our names on 3/15, I did official cancel letter on 3/17 and requested a refund, no response from them. I called 5/8 again 5/16, 5/17, spoke with Jeremy in Acct who would get back to me. Called him on 5/22 and he stated his boss Chris Powell said they have legal rights to keep the deposit, This seems like shyster behavior to me. How many others have they done this to? I will not sit back and let this happen. Especially since the sales person Tom Biggs, stated don't worry, it will be under warranty. Like our lives don't matter, they got their money. He also stated he would cancel the contract for us which of course he didn't do. I did it myself knowing not to trust he would follow through. We expect a refund of this entire amount. I know they pulled permits, but if they did their job initially and correctly, they should never even accepted a deposit and my mother should have never given one.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: I never signed a contract with Meraki or ********. Never authorized or agreed to do business with ********. Never received a payment from Meraki. Meraki deceived me and never received my consent for financing with ********. I didn't know about ******** until later. I was told I would only receive one electric bill. I now receive two electric bills.
Sincerely,
Cecilia Gregoryred or returned my calls. I called Meraki and spoke to representative Angie she said they would send me a check for $466.43 to cover payments that were not made because service was not connected. They sent me a direct deposit check thru email and that check was rejected. Today I went to my home with my daughter to find a notice from gooleap the finance company threatening to disconnect my service due to non payment for service I never had. I never authorized financing thru ******** and continue to pay duke energy for my electric service. On May 28th 2023 I spoke to client support managers Brain and Kelsey from ******** and let them know I was not interested in the service and never authorized a third party finance company. Brian explained he was in charge of the Meraki accounts and he would investigate this further. I don't like being threaten by ******** that they will disconnect my electric as I am on oxygen due to lung damage from Covid. Today I had a letter placed on my front door threatening to disconnect. I do not have any documentation from Meraki. I Never signed the contract. Beware of Meraki Solar Company taking advantage of the elderly. Thank you for your time and consideration.Business Response

We have a recorded welcome call in which you verbally agreed to the terms and conditions. We can send you this call to review. We have also included your signed contract that shows your written agreement.
This information has been provided to the lender.
We apologize for any misunderstandings; the solar panel installation was able to take place because you agreed to commence the installation.

Contracted with Meraki to install a PV solar system with battery backup. Meraki installed the PV system, and subcontracted the battery back out to another contractor that THEY hired. The system has failed to produce electricity in January 2023 for several days. Meraki wouldn’t investigate because site monitoring was in sub-contractor’s name. I transferred it to Meraki. PV fixed. April 15th 2023 PV system failed again. Contracted Meraki and they won’t respond because the warranty is in sub-contractor’s name. The guy THEY hired. Sold a bill of goods by promising backup and solar power. But now they won’t support monitoring or troubleshooting the system. Have talked with Meraki several times no help, but they wouldn’t tell me this info. PV still not working as of today, 5/Business Response

Meraki sold me their product, and later installed in a part of the roof where the sun doesn't shine. They have advised me that the issue will be resolved and that the project its not completed until everything has been addressed, however, I'm already getting charge from them thru the financial institution they got me the loan thru, for the panel I have yet to start using. They advised Teco hasn't given the ok to turn on the panels, and that as long as they are not in use, I will not be charge. On 4/27/2023, Dividend withdrew $410.59 from my account, while I'm still paying a Teco bill and owe them $242.33 this month. Meraki claims they have a policy, that I'm not supposed to be paying both them and Teco, and that the issue will be addressed, and money's refunded. They have been provided with the information available to me, such as the text messages from Dividend, prrof of the withdrawal from my bank account, and copy of Teco bill, yet they continue to evade the problem and to request additional billing information from Dividend that they know, we never received. Furthermore, I still have 10 to 12 panel on my roof that get 2 hrs hours of sun at most on any given day. They need to do as they say they would and both resolve the panel issues and refund they money's I was to supposed to be charge with until my project is done. I get promises of calls from my sales rep or account manager and none are forthcoming. They refuse to tell me who is running the show there so I can address this with their superiors, and I keep getting the run around, and told that my sales person is the one running the company. Please any assistance you can provide to get this matter resolved will be dèply appreciated. I cannot afford to pay both for the solar panels I'm not using and continue to pay Teco for monthly services. I want to pay for what I'm getting, and I have yet to get any power to my house from the panels they've installed.
Thank you kindly

Their response is a front, they have no intention of doing anything since they consider the install complete. They have not tried to communicate with us in any way, shape or form, and I don’t see how they can open another file without contacting us. They are just telling you what they think you want to hear, and will keep doing that to string out the situation. Their future responses will be the same. We are looking into it, we have opened another file, we have an assigned an investigator, and on and on. At this point, they really do not care whether we are satisfied or not, if they did, they would still be in touch.ing. We were charged two payments weeks before the system was turned on. And don’t believe them if told they would not place a lien on your property, it’s in the contract, but it’s not obvious.
There was absolutely no type or kind of follow up whatsoever. No one came to explain the system, or how it works or what certain controls we should be aware of, and how to work them. No knowledge of how to examine how the system is working, and if it’s producing properly, and even letting us know how the system should work.
I asked the supervisor 2 questions while he was here, tell me that they would be acceptable of this install being at their home, and also would they bring a prospective customer out here to look at this install, of course, he had to say no. This install is horrible and amateurish, the only thing I can say, is as far as I can tell it is functioning.
Based on what I am seeing versus what we paid on the contract, I would say in my opinion, the system is over priced. Retired ContractorBusiness Response

I am rejecting this response because:4 of the panels are obviously defective. They are using the excuse that the others perform as expected to cover that 4 are defective. They installed 4 defective panels and yes they are able to replace the 4 defective panels. A daily report is generated on each panel’s production. It does not require 6 months or 3 months to determine defective products when you can see it on a daily report.
Sincerely,
Joseph *****Business Response

Since your system has only been powered for about three months, we cannot accurately perform a production analysis with the current information.
We will be able to perform a more accurate production analysis in three more months, totalling the six month recommended production period. In the meantime, you can encourage higher production by rinsing the panels, monitoring the production on EnPhase for any alerts, and plan to consume the most energy during peak solar hours.
Looking at our records, we confirmed that the system triggered no alerts or error codes. Our goal is to meet at least 80% of your estimated offset, including factors that are out of our control, such as weather, shading, etc.
Based of the past three months of production, you are meeting 86.21 % offset, whereas your contract was signed off for only 76.23%.
We strongly recommend waiting at least six months for a more accurate reading. However, you are projected to overproduce solar energy, which will greatly benefit you.
We will not be replacing any panels as all systems operate as a whole, not individually.
We appreciate you taking the time to bring this to our attention. As previously stated, if you still have concerns in six months, please feel free to reach out so we can perform a thorough and accurate production analysis.

I have a project with Meraki since December 2021, and today April 2023, the project is not working yet. I have been paying the loan for the project for 6 month and the panels are not operational yet. We want to thank you for your patience during this process and also apologize for the inconvenience of the extended amount of time it has taken us to get your system up and running.
There are a few factors that have contributed to the delay, such as necessary roof repairs, permitting issues, failed inspections, and module transitions.
We requested permission to operate the panels from your utility company on March 29th, 2023. The utility company officially authorized us to operate on May 4th, 2023.
We reached out to you today, May 9th, 2023, and you agreed to a system turn-on appointment for May 15th, 2023, between the hours of 8 AM and 12 PM. The system turn-on is the final step to your solar panel system being operational.
Again, we thank you for your patience, and we are excited for your solar journey to begin officially!
