My solar panels stopped producing in May. I was told when I bought the solar panels that Meraki would monitor the solar panels and send someone out when the solar panels were not working. I did not know that the solar panels stopped working until I received a bill from FPL for over $500. I have called and emailed Meraki to resolve this issue. They have not replied to any of my emails and when I call the number ************ that is listed as their headquarters number I get disconnected after being on hold. I did get through to Freedom Forever to have them come out and check the solar panels after calling for a month. It took them over two weeks to come out and fix the inverter. I had to call them three times after putting in a workorder for them to schedule a time to come look at my solar panels. They just fixed it yesterday. But the gentleman that came out said that there might be something wrong with my solar panels due to the feedback that he was getting from my solar panels. He stated that they were going to monitor them to make sure they don't go out again. I now have two FPL power bills one being over $500 and a second one that I got yesterday for $400.Initial Complaint

We have been trying for over 2 months to get a service call regarding our panels not working properly. Last month we received a nearly 400 dollar power bill and this month it was almost 500. When we pull up the app to see the output of the panels it reads offline. We requested a work order be put in well over 2 months ago and was jerked around and finally told 2 weeks ago that it was never put in. I want someone out here to see what the issue is as clearly these panels are not working and I am having to pay a full power bill now.Initial Complaint

I am currently being pressured into paying Meraki money for an adjacent service completed over a year ago, followed by not receiving any updates about the installation process. On February 16th, 2023 I had representatives come to my home to address the solar system’s inefficiency. It was decided that more panels were going to be placed on another portion of my roof and that Meraki was going to have some trees cut/removed in hopes of improving the system's efficiency. On April 1st, 2023 Meraki hired JP and Sons Tractor Service to service the trees around the house (check invoice also dates April 11th, 2023). After this service was completed I received no information in regards to my services or contract until September 3rd, 2024. Wherein I was finally informed that the solar panel installation was canceled (reason not specified) and that I am required to pay $2,750 if paid via payment plan or $2,000 if I am able to pay “up front” so “they can recoup something/even a little” as told by the financial representative that called me. Why, after over a year later, is money now being demanded of me? Why was I never informed about the cancellation? I personally find this action deplorable, especially with the knowledge that Meraki merged with another company and is now doing poorly in the financial department. The timing of the money request is very suspicious, especially with the payment “options” I was given.Initial Complaint

I purchased Solar panels in Summer of 2022. Once installed and turned up, they worked less then 2 months when the BRAND NEW inverter went out. It took over a month to get replaced. All the while paying the solar payment AND a high electric bill. It was finally replaced and now 2 years later, the inverter went out again. I call in to Meraki and am transferred to a group they subcontract to for service. I was told it would be 7-14 days before I heard anything and if the monitoring group could not resolve correctly, they would submit a service ticket for service to come out and look. This could take 30 to 45 days. All the while, I am paying on a 70K loan, and a summer electric bill on a system that should not be having any issues.
There is no monitoring system to alert if the inverter goes out. I was told I would have to check it every day. I all ready check it at the first of the month each month. It went out on the 13th.
Very poor system as well as EXTREMELY poor customer service. They sell it one way and it really is just a piece of crap.Initial Complaint

In the summer of 2024 we were approached by a Meraki Solar Sales Rep. Came to our home and sold us 30 panels for our home. After taking months to get them installed and then put on line, it seemed to be ok for about a year. Then after that the savings on our electric bill started going away. We are now paying more per month than before the solar panels. In Sept 2024 we noticed a leak in our roof. Crawled up into saw it was coming from where the solar panels were anchored to the roof. Got in contact with Freedom Forever whom is taking over the service for Meraki. They sent out a team whom said there were tons of screw holes in our roof where it looks like they missed the rafters when anchoring the panels and failed to seal up the holes. Also the anchors that did hit the rafters were in sideways all of which are leaking and have been slowly leaking for a while now. They told us that we needed a whole new roof and that they would submit to the supervisor for this replacement. That was on Sept 19, 2024. Since then we have heard absolutely nothing from them or Meraki. When we call them we get put on eternal hold, hung up on or lied to about someone calling us back. We now have not only a payment for solar panels that are not working as promised but also a roof with a dozen + leaks in it. We are looking for them to honor their work and recommendations to replace the roof at Meraki's cost.Initial Complaint

Solar has not been working since 7/23/24, despite the promise the system would be monitored I only discovered the issue by receiving an electric bill of $472.14. Per the contract if the system malfunctions the monthly payment of $138.67 would be refunded and I do expect to be refunded for July - November as the system is still not working but an inverted has been ordered with the repair time being expected in the next 2-4 weeks. My calls to Meraki are rerouted to a new partner - Freedom Forever and this has been an absolute nightmare (had to do a separate complaint to even have them respond) I am expecting the contract to be honored as the leader is still expecting their monthly payment in addition to the extra electric cost I am paying out.Initial Complaint

Meraki solar had installed panels on my roof in 2021. First, the salesperson miscalculated the amount of panels needed to offset my bills as promised and coerced me into a new roof. I’ve had to replace my inverter twice. Most recently I’ve been with broken solar panels for about a month and Meraki seems to have discontinued their customer service number and switched to a third party call center. They mention it takes 7-14 days just to look into the problem remotely before continuing to examine what the problem is. Meanwhile, I sit and pay my loan on the solar and my electric bills. If I could go back, I would never ever have used this company. Based on online court filings, my salesperson Ted ****** has been sued or arrested or currently in jail for fraud. Scam artist. I would love to get out of this contract and have the solar panels removed at this point.Initial Complaint

In July of 2022 we signed a contract with Meraki Installers, LLC for the installation of our solar panels. The system was installed and began operating in October of that year. We have not had any issues until the system abruptly stopped communicating on June 9 2024, at 12:45pm. We were not made aware of any issues and did not find the problem until our power went out on August 30, 2024. At this time my husband found and fixed the problem. Thinking it was an isolated issue, we were still unaware of the full scope of the problem until we received our power bill for the two months our panels were not communicating.
At this point we contacted the monitoring platform/app to find out why we were not made aware of the issue. They stated “It is the installer's job to monitor your system and update you about the issue.” and that an alert did go out but was “overlooked”. They also explained “Your installer must enable the notification for you, then you will receive the alerts via email”.
We have tried to contact Meraki several times via phone and email to no avail. The phone number listed on our contract hangs up after about a minute. We found a phone number online, but was transferred to Freedom Forever. It was explained to us that they (Freedom Forever) are maintenance providers for new customers but existing customers had to contact Meraki via the email provided on our contract. I have sent two emails the first 09/13/2024 with no response, and the second 09/20/2024 also no response.
At this point I'm just seeking contact from Meraki to go about resolving the issue, but seeing as they have not responded to any complaints from July forward I doubt that will happen.Initial Complaint

We had to get a new roof so we asked meraki to come and take the panels down and they said they would which they did but we had to pay full price after we got the roof done around June 1st I called them and asked to get an appointment to get the solar panels back on I got more excuses about that this company bought them out that we were on a list they never contacted us about getting the panels back on I kept getting excuse after excuse so we called our credit card company and we got the payment reverse back to us but my issue is I am paying for solar panels to sit in my garage since June of 2024 I got a phone call September 6th 2024 from meraki asking if we were ready for our solar panels to be put back on I said yes the lady said somebody would call me the next day or on a Monday and I have not heard from them since. My husband has called around to see if we could get somebody to install it was going to cost more than what it was from meraki to do what they said they were going to do I would just like my solar panels put back on because I am paying for them to sit in my garage
