    On January 30, 2024 we entered into a contract with Brian W. with Harpers 1980 llc. We were to have a lanai built in December 2024. The date was pushed out because they said they were booked up into the summer. We gave them $3,000 down. They were to come out and do a final measurement, but they never did. I reached out to them on August 8th with an email to set a date in December. I never heard back from them so I sent another email on August 27th. I also tried calling on August 27th. They have 3 lines so I tried them all. On two of the phone calls, you could not leave a message. On the third line it said that the number was no longer in service. I sent a Certified Letter in the mail on September 25, 2024. It was returned to me on November 6, 2024 as undeliverable as addressed and unable to forward. In the letter I asked to have my $3,000 returned. We want our contract canceled and our deposit returned.

    A deposit of $2,980.00 was made to Harpers 1980 LLC on May 1, 2003. The payment was made in person to Brian W. at ************, Port Charlotte, FL. A receipt was obtained. The work to be performed was to remove and replace a pool cage damaged by a hurricane with work to be completed within 12 to 14 months. The original proposal was prepared by Patrick K. and was dated March 23, 2023 with a total price of $14,900.00 to include removal of the damaged pool cage, permits, and installation of a new pool cage. Numerous calls and emails to both Patrick K. and Brian W. would be answered with crews in training, etc. The last email was dated August 16, 2024 from Brian W. stating his builder would call me. No one called.

    we signed our agreement with Harpers on 4/11/2023 at which time we were quoted 8-10 months for installation. We paid $2,280.00 for a down payment. We have never received our goods/services. I've called several times and left messages only to get the run around. I want my money back!

    We contacted Harper's 1980 LLC to install a pool cage for us after the hurricane, April 2023. They said it would be about 6-8 months, we gave them $5,000.00 deposit. They still have done nothing and now say they will not refund our money.

    In November 2022 I contracted with Harpers Manufacturing in Port Charlotte, Fl for a new pool cage, which had been destroyed by hurricane Ian. I was told that it would not be done until February 2024 due to demands in supplies. I agreed. In February 2024 I was told the new date would be April 2024. In March 2024 I was contacted and informed I needed to spend money on a new property survey which had become a new county regulation. It was obtained at a cost of $475. In April 2024 the dimensions were taken by Harpers for the new cage. It is now August 2024 and I have made repeated phone calls and emails requesting my deposit back. I had sent emails in July 2024 and was told by Brian W. at Harpers that he would rather do the work and not refund me. I have found another company that will do it for a cheaper price. I have emailed him on July 10,July 13, July 15, July 17, and August 2nd to no answer. Since they have not responded to me I am requesting my deposit returned.

    I am rejecting this response because: Harpers has had since November 2022 to complete the pool cage. According to Florida policies they had 90 days to start the project after receiving my deposit. They did not. In February 2024 is when they said it would be done and it was not even started. A permit has never been pulled on this to be completed. In March, I was told to get another property survey. This was not needed per County Commissioner *** *****. So instead of Harpers paying to pull a copy of the survey they had me spend $475 to obtain a new one. You can refund me this amount as well. In April a man came out to measure my pool cage area. Since April  - NOTHING. I asked for the refund in July and they would not give it to me. How can I trust a company that has scammed so many people in Charlotte County to complete work on my home? I cannot. Brian W. then gets arrested for scamming people - and they want me to trust them? I think not. 
    I want my $2500 deposit and the refund of the survey of $475 = $2975.00 total. I will be filing with the Charlotte County Sheriff's Department.

    Signed a contract with Harper' 1980 LLC on April 16, 2024 and gave them a deposit of $800.00 as a down payment. The job involves screening in a front entranceway and installing a door. Materials would include aluminum, screening, and the door. Our complaint is that a building permit was not filed, and the job was not done. After Harper's removed our old screened in porch and door, there has been no other work performed. At first Isaac B, the salesman, returned calls and texts, but for the last month there has been no communication. We texted him saying we wanted to terminate the contract and have our deposit returned, but have heard nothing. Harper's has not made any attempt to resolve this problem.

    On 11/15/2023 I signed a $20,000 contract with Hae[ers 1980 salesman Brian W. with the spoken understanding my pool cage destroyed in September 2022 hurricane would be replaced by May of 2024. I paid Harpers 1980- a $5,000 retainer. Since then I have been in contact with Jason W. and Patrick of Harpers 1980 only after repeated calls and visits to their shop. A construction date of May 28 was given, but that date came and passed with no action. My wife and I are 92 years old and hope to see this project completed in our life time. We had a previous contractor that did not preform and we lost a $1000 deposit to him. Our attorney told us we could receive a 3 to 1 award for fraud to the elderly. WE do not want to pursue that. WE just would like our pool cage replaced.

    I contracted with Harper's 1980 in 2023 and paid a large deposit. Filed a report with the Sheriff. Send a certified receipt request to owner Brian W. to have my money refunded. Customer service at Harper's 1980 is neglectful. I want a full refund for the deposit! Tired of their substandard business practices

    I am rejecting this response because:
    My certified request for a refund was returned because Harper's is not in the building anymore.  The owner of their business license has taken our deposit. Without a pool cage, we pay more for pool maintenance, and fight leaves, birds nesting, and is nonstop work for us to maintain.  We want our deposit back.  If Harper's truly wants to install our cage, we must have the contractors license number and see his driver's license before and work is done.  It grieves me that we chose such a poor business.  Their customer service is bad.  They insisted we buy a new site survey for 575.00's until we said no, you have all our paperwork on our house.

    If I were to press charges, I would be justified to include compensation for pain and suffering in the case with our deposit back.

    We put a down payment for replacement of our pool cage on December 21st 2022 with a install date of October 2023 after literally dozens off messages left and emails which I have all documentation, they have just strung me along and then a message was left for me on July 12th 2024 that they want more money to proceed and this is definitely just fraudulent if not criminal at this point I want all money paid to them refunded
