      BBB CASE#:18128428             (18128428/RAL/*******)

AMERICAN ANESTHESIOLOGY OF NORTH CAROLINA, received an inquiry regarding a patient that we provided anesthesia services to on June 2, 2022 at Capital City Asc.  Our office conducted a full review of the billing for the services for this patient and below is a summary of our findings.
At the time of service the patient provided insurance information on their policy from ******** their primary insurance and BCBS their secondary insurance.  Due to an internal billing error, the insurances were not billed and the patients account was inadvertently sent to collection.
We have now taken the following steps:
Closed the account at ****************** as listed in error and requested ****************** send the patient a letter to advise
Billed patients ******** insurance and is pending processing.

Our goal is to provide exceptional patient care and excellent customer service to all of our patients and their families and apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. Please feel free to contact me should you need any further information.

Original date of service is 2/9/22. My patient ID # is *******. ********************** is sending me a bill for $999.00 Ive had several phone calls, not only from myself to pediatrix, but 3 way phone calls with tricare, me, and pediatrix all at the same time. (Which are documented by both tricare and pediatrix) Tricare has paid this bill in full. IN FULL!!!! It was a recoupment. ******* has told them several times to take care of this matter and that I have no responsibility, as its been settled and paid for. Tricare has sent an Explanation of Benefits showing I have 0 responsibility as it was paid by them via a Recoupment TWICE now. Once the beginning of August, and again August 29th. Pediatrix is stating they dont have anything on record from them, twice now. Even though tricare sent it to them via ************ Pediatrix keeps sending me in circles. Even after hearing it verbally that the claim was paid for by *******, they refuse to even place my account on hold. Instead, Ill have to start making monthly payments of $44 or they will be sending this off to COLLECTIONS on the 120th day which is September 26th. Today I spoke with a supervisor named ******* who was full of attitude and had 0 compassion for the matter at hand. How can you send something to collections when its already been paid for in full by health insurance almost 7 months ago. I have no idea what else I can do to get these people to acknowledge this balance is incorrect besides doing a complaint with BBB or getting a lawyer at this point! Please!

Pediatrix sent my medical bill to collection which I did not know I used their service. I contacted and gave them my insurance but they refused to try to submit the claims. They asked me to pay out of pocket regardless my insurance agreed to pay.
