Shortly after Farmers announced they were leaving the ****************, Slide Insurance and Farmers reached an agreement to provide continued home insurance coverage options for Farmers policyholders in *******. That means that all ******* Farmers homeowners (HO3 and HO6) policyholders will receive a renewal offer from Slide Insurance. You should have gotten a letter from Farmers about the above, but please let us know if you didnt.
Its also important to note that your Slide quote is only an offer to continue coverage. We recommend that you speak with your independent insurance agent, who can help give you all the options so that you can make an informed decision.Gary

Please, you guys play fast and loose. The sad fact is if you had been open and honest, I would have been happy to accept a quote, instead you just send a policy over that was not requested and expected to get paid, Today you guys sent a policy adjustment lowering the cost of the first policy by over $800 hoping I would pay now! 1 starIf I could give this company a zero I would. The worst!! They had no authorization from me & decided to switch from my insurance to theres more then tripping the price. Im not sure how this is even legal, but beware of this company, complete scamers.Slide Insurance Company

1 starSlide sent me some documentation to fill out because my home insurance carrier, farmers, was leaving the state. Slide stated in the packet that I needed to sign and return the forms to continue insurance other wise I would not have insurance when my farmers policy was up. I never signed and returned the forms but Slide still requested the **** dollars from my mortgage company. It was paid and came out of my escrow. This company is using predatory tactics to trick people into keeping their overpriced insurance. This method of customer retention should be illegal. It is unethical.Slide Insurance Company

We at Slide appreciate the opportunity to address the Consumers concerns regarding the handling of his policy renewal. When his prior carrier made the decision to stop offering ******* homeowners insurance, they reached an agreement with Slide to offer a renewal policy to ensure no interruption in coverage.
The offer was issued almost two months ahead of the effective date, in accordance with ******* law and to afford the Consumer sufficient time to consider the offer. Since the Consumer had set up the premium for his insurance to be paid by his lender, a premium invoice was sent to the lender in case the offer was accepted.
As requested by the Consumer, the Slide renewal has been cancelled flat. Our records indicate that no premium payment has been received. If a payment is received, it will be refunded.Review fromRennette S

1 starSlide took money out of my escrow account without any authorization thirty days before the insurance was due Now i had to cancel a policy I never authorized and return the money to my escrow account. We appreciate this opportunity to respond the Consumers concerns. When her prior insurance company made the difficult decision to stop offering coverage in *******, we were pleased to offer a renewal policy with Slide to ensure no interruption in coverage. The renewal offer was issued in January, to be effective in March, and since the premium was to be paid by the Consumers lender, it was necessary to notify them of the amount due should the renewal be accepted.
Immediately upon receipt of the Consumers recent request not to accept this offer, we processed cancellation of the renewal. According to our records, we have received no premium payment from either the Consumer or his lender, so there should be no issues associated with an escrow account. Of course, if there are any remaining concerns or questions, we encourage the Consumer to contact her agent or our office so they may be addressed.Review fromVickie L

1 starLike many of ** in *******, we had UPC insurance company. The policy was automatically switched to Slide which tripled our original rate for less coverage. Our policy number was **********.We went to our Insurance agent and they put us with Citizen with a separate umbrella policy bringing us back to the coverage we once had with UPC. At that time they cancelled the Slide policy.Slide never cancelled the policy but managed to get the money from our bank.When confronted they admitted to the policy being cancelled and said a refund will be issued ( but has not as of this date) I assume interest will not be refunded.After reading the reviews and complaint from the BBB it looks like we are not the first to be in this situation.Slide Insurance Company

Slide did acquire this policy upon liquidation of UPC. This was to ensure continuation of the coverage without interruption, but we completely understand the decision to secure a policy at a lower premium. Our records indicate that we were first notified by the agent of this decision on January 26, ****, and we are currently awaiting documents from the agent so the policy may be cancelled as of the date coverage was placed elsewhere.Review fromGERALD B

1 starDISABLED VET. I ALREADY MADE ONE PAYMENT FOR A YEAR. NOW THEY WANT AN ADDITIONAL $395. SAID IT WAS A PREVIOUS CLAIM FROM ANOTHER COMPANY. I RECEIVED NO MONEY ON THE CLAIM. SAID MY POLICY WILL CANCEL IF NOT PAID.Slide Insurance Company

1 starThis company took advantage of myself and I'm sure many others in Florida. They along with other aiding insurance companies over charged for insurance for brief coverage that was required by law in the excess of $1000 a month. They charged my mortgage company $11,780 for the year even though I disputed that charge. When I finally was able to switch to another company I was still obligated to pay over $3000 for the two months it was in effect. I've never filed a claim but now wish I had of but judging from other reviews Doubt they would pay.Slide Insurance Company

1 starI've had Slide Insurance for a few years now and after faithfully paying premiums that have continuously increased at an excessive rate, I filed a claim for roof damage on 9/28/23. I was assigned an adjuster and have had nothing but frustration and problems ever since! From non-communication, phone calls and e-mails that go unanswered, estimates that don't exist, photos that were never received...if I don't call and check on the status of this claim, it goes on for days with nothing being done. First I was told that an estimate was on the way for the roof repair, along with an e-mail missing the actual estimate, and the next week told that they were denying the claim. I was told the inspector looked at the roof and it's in "good shape." The fact is, that's an outright lie. I had the roof inspected by a roofing company who took photos of the wind and hail damage and documented everything. I have since provided the adjuster with all the documentation, which of course he failed to receive even though I have proof that it was sent and received electronically. For the past week and a half now, I've been waiting for them to schedule a re-inspection of the roof. I e-mailed the adjuster last Thursday, after a week of waiting, and still have yet to hear anything back. The real kicker is, within a week of making a claim on the roof I received a letter stating that they are dropping me and will not renew my coverage! At this point I feel like they are playing games, intentionally stalling, as well as failing to fulfill their duties to cover repairs as stated in the contract. At this point, I wish they would just send me the paperwork and I'll be more than happy to let a judge decide.Slide Insurance Company

5 starsAfter ******************* here in SWFL last year we had significant ************ equipment damage, I called Slide to submit a claim. This was my first encounter with an insurance claim and Slide was the best to work with throughout the process. From our initial contact with ************************* CAT examiner, **** *********************** adjuster and ************************* Claims adjuster I have nothing but amazing things to say about all 3 of the above that we dealt with on the claim. When I called or emailed, they responded quickly and professionally and were always there to explain the process and fast track everything for us and treat us fairly on the claim. Our work has all been completed and the claim is officially closed. Our only out of pocket was deductible. Thanks again to all of the professional, helpful and friendly team @ Slide that made our life easier during such a difficult time. I'm just glad that when we had a claim our policy was with Slide. We at Slide understand our insured's concerns and the financial impact that increased premiums have on insurance consumers in *******. Upon liquidation of the insured's prior carrier, Slide was able to acquire the policy to ensure continuation without any interruption of coverage. Of course,it was necessary to apply actuarially sound rates as of the policy renewal, and we notified the insured of the new premium well in advance of the due date. We have also reached out to the insured and recommended that she contact her agent to ensure that the coverage fits her needs and that the rates are based on accurate information. The agent is also able to compare rates between carriers, although we would appreciate the opportunity to continue as her carrier of choice.
