I bought a new home in May and got the County Records Office letter in the mail last week. The letter looks official and from the county from which I purchased my home. I saved the letter and was going to go to the official country office to confirm if this letter was legitimate. Upon closer inspection of the letter, I determined this was not an official correspondence from my county office. I can see how someone could be fooled into thinking that this letter official.....especially the elderly and the general public who are just learning how to speak english. County Records Office LLC claims that they use 30 font print. It does not matter what font size you are using. The fact is the letter is a underhanded way to trick folks into sending you $89. Rename your company to something less confusing and use it on your letterhead....like "We Are Not Your Official County Records office, LLC". See how many checks for $89 you get with that name.County Records Office, LLC

I HAVE READ ALL COMPLAINTS AGAINST THIS COMPANY. I HAVE BEEN IN THE TITLE BUSINESS FOR OVER 30 YEARS IN FLORIDA AND AM WELL AWARE OF HOW TO OBTAIN COPIES OF LEGAL DOCUMENTS FROM PUBLIC RECORDS, I DO PROPERTY SEARCHES THROUGHOUT THE UNITED STATES. PEOPLE WHO DON'T KNOW BETTER WILL FALL FOR THIS SCAM. WHEN I BOUGHT MY PROPERTY 2 YEARS AGO, I GOT THIS LETTER OFFERING ME TO OBTAIN MY ORIGINAL DEED FROM THEM FOR $89.00 WHICH I IGNORED. MY DAUGHTER ALSO GOT THE SAME MAIL WHICH I ADVISED HER TO IGNORE BUT 2 YEARS LATER I GOT THE MAIL AGAIN OFFERING TO GET A RECORDED COPY OF MY DEED FOR $89.00 (NOT EVEN A CERTIFIED COPY). PLEASE BE AWARE THE YOUR ORIGINAL DEED IS SENT TO YOU WITH YOUR FINAL TITLE POLICY FROM THE TITLE COMPANY THAT DID THE CLOSING AND COPIES CAN BE PRINTED ONLINE FOR FREE OR A CERTIFIED COPY CAN BE ORDERED FOR A FEW BUCKS. We do not work for the courthouse and provide a document retrieval service. Anyone can get their own deed if they like. We make sure we have in bold 30 font print this is a solicitation and, on our envelopes, we have in bold print, We are not a government agency. We comply with all postal regulations. So sorry for any confusion this letter may have caused you. Not everyone wants to be bothered to get their own deed. I get letters everyday were, many Banks and Title companies never give the borrower a copy of their deed. Anyone can get a copy of their deed, if they want to jump through the hoops to get it themselves.

1 starLike most, I saw the notice and thought I owed the county money. This disreputable company, obviously, does this to confuse the consumer. While the fine print points out what the company really is, they make it just official enough to scam homeowners into paying for something they don't need. I am guessing, based on the grammatical errors, they are illegal immigrants who speak little English, and have less ability at English grammar. These scammers just took advantage of my legally blind, oxygen dependent, 75 yrs old sister who is on a limited income. I recently relocated her closer to me so I can help her out and she is trying to be independent as possible, but in the confusion of moving, she thought it was a legitimate closing bill and paid them. They sent her copies of 4 documents she already had. There is a special place in h*** for people like that. Can any legal action be taken?County Records Office, LLC
