The comment section has only a **** character limit. I've attached my concerns in a word document. The main concern is I've tried to talk to management multiple times by phone, in writing, and verbally to the technician with no response. Wanted to express my concerns about the lack of communication and unethical practices.

It is always the goal of Weather Tite Windows to ensure our clients are happy at the completion of their projects.  The reason Weather Tite Windows has the great reputation in the marketplace is because we always stand behind our work and if any deficiencies are found we take care of them.

Mr. ***** windows were originally scheduled to arrive to us from the manufacturer in June.  Unfortunately, that did not happen, and the windows did get backordered. Mr. was informed of this at the end of June, again in July, and finally once the windows arrived the installation was set in August.

************ speaks of a window leak release form.  We do not have such a form so I am unsure where that is coming from or what that might be.  The only form the installers have with them is a hold harmless form (which I have attached).  This form is to notify the homeowner that we are happy to help move furniture, take down blinds, or move other personal belongings that *** be in the way of the window installation, however we will not be liable if something should happen to it. We ask the homeowner to remove these things prior to us coming but we do understand some customers are not able to do so, in which case we ask that the form be signed.

While supply chain issues continue to affect the world, window manufacturers are not exempt to this.  We do not make the product and are therefore at the mercy of the manufacturer that supplies it to us.  We apologize for the delays, unfortunately they are beyond anyones control.

I am rejecting this response because:

The form that was submitted to BBB from weathertite wasnt the same one that they were pressing me to sign. I said numerous times I dont feel comfortable signing this. The only way they stop pressuring me was when I said let me have it and Ill sign it later. I attached the form that required me to sign. If you look back at my records youll see I call numerous times and even wrote on my work order to have management call me. If I felt comfortable that the job was done 100% I wouldve maybe felt more comfortable signing this. I have pictures of the job done and walked one of the technicians around to show my concerns and he agreed that its not the normal quality work that they do. He said he would let management know about the bad quality work that was done. I purposely hired a premium company and paid the premium price so would have premium results. I feel that I wouldve been better off saving my money and finding someone from *********** The communication from weathertite has been horrible, the scheduling has been horrible, the workmanship is horrible and when I try and contact management to voice my feedback I get nothing. This form to have me sign was the icing on the cake. I want to feel confident I made the right investment when I bought these windows. Having me sign something that to me is saying they dont even stand by their work doesnt sit well. If needed I can attach pictures of the caulking that your technician applied. I hope this is an isolated instance and not a normal business practice.

    Sincerely,

Unfortunately, you were given the wrong hold harmless to sign.  The hold harmless we attached and should have been handed to you just states that we are happy to take down blinds or move furniture to do the installation, however we are not responsible should anything break or get damaged as that is typically the homeowners responsibility.  The caulking hold harmless you were given in error is when we visit a job that is several years old, and caulking has not been maintained or touched.  We are sorry you feel like your installation was not to your satisfaction.  Our notes in the system do not show any calls from you requesting to speak with management regarding this.  We show several calls asking for the expected delivery and if we will discount the job due to the delays. Also noted after installation was a damaged screen and s**** hole covers which are shown as completed since the inspection was passed and the permit was closed out.

Weather Tite came out in Jan/Feb of 2021 to measure and quote for installing 7 windows in my home (2 of which were bathroom windows.) I was to be financed for the project at the time and put down the required $600 deposit. I was told by the salesman that it would take approximately 6 or 7 months for the windows to be made and arrive at their location in Tampa. In Oct of 2021 they called to tell me that the windows were in. The earliest available install date was in Dec of 2021. Being too close to Christmas, I scheduled the install for Jan of 2022. I refinanced my home in Jan of 2022 and decided to pay for the entire cost of windows and installation instead of being financed which went from $10,000 (finance quote) to $9,000 (paying cash.) I paid the $9,000 balance a week or 2 before the install (my mistake.) When the subs came to install, they said that the biggest and most expensive window, with the arched top, had a crack in one of the panes and that they could either install it then and come and replace the pane when it arrived or take it back to the shop and replace the pane there. I opted for them to replace the pane at the shop. 3 months later in Apr of 2021, they finally got the pane in and replaced it at the shop. When the subs came to install the last window 2 weeks later, they told me that they couldn't install it because the frame was now cracked. I said "ok, take it back to the shop and have someone call me for an ETA on when the new frame would be here." You'd think I'd be a priority at this point, but NO. I had to call them later in the week to find out what was going on with my last window. They said that they'd find out and get back to me. Weeks go by. I call them back. They give me the run-around again. It's now mid Aug of 2022 and I still haven't gotten a definitive answer on when my last, most expensive window will be available to install. When I call and express how upsetting and ridiculous this has gotten, they offer very little understanding.

Business Response /* (1000, 9, 2022/08/25) */ It is always the goal of Weather Tite Windows to ensure our clients are happy at the completion of their projects. The reason Weather Tite Windows has the great reputation in the marketplace is because we always stand behind our work and if any deficiencies are found we take care of them. If a situation occurs where the product provided to us by the manufacturer is defective, we are at the mercy of the manufacturer to receive replacement parts. Our goal is to correct deficiencies immediately, again understanding that we must wait for the manufacturer to send us replacements. Mr. ******'s windows arrived at our warehouse with one piece of glass broken in shipping. As reported to him, we could either install the window and replace the glass at his home or do so in our warehouse. Mr. chose to not have it installed and once glass was replaced to contact him. The glass was received from the manufacturer and replaced in the window, but then unfortunately it was realized that the actual frame itself had a hairline crack as well. This was reported to the manufacturer and a replacement frame was ordered immediately. While supply chain issues continue to affect the world, window manufacturers are not exempt to this. We do not make the product and are therefore at the mercy of the manufacturer that supplies it to us. We have told Mr. ****** that once the product arrives we will contact him to have it installed. We have not received the product but hope to have it very soon. Once confirmed and inspected, we will contact Mr. ****** to have it installed.

Upon presentation and signing of contract WeatherTites salesperson stated that I would never need to be concerned with my Impact resistant windows for they had a lifetime guarantee against defect or glass breakage. This year I requested replacement of a broken window and they told me it was not covered by warranty. I stated the information as above and they refused( fortunately the person/company responsible reimbursed me the $800). I then contacted WeatherTite about a PGT/CGI glass breakage warranty which I was never informed about which they first denied knowing about , then said I never registered my windows with PGT and could not get this program. Being that the company never offered the program, the salesperson lied to me and WeatherTite never registered my window or informed me to do so I am quite upset with their approach to my issue, which has been to not respond to emails or phone messages. I contacted Judy, have been polite and courteous never raised my voice or made any type of negative comments. They have been non responsive. An additional issue came to light recently with my door hinges on two Hurricane exterior door I purchased from them and had installed. Again the messaging was a Lifetime warranty, The six hinges and hing pins have rusted and I requested that they be replaced with marine grade hinges that do not rust, same result. Now a very simple solution would be for Judy,Mike and WeatherTite to purchase the extended glass breakage warranty for me or we could amicably agree to share the cost but they do not even want to discuss anything. The hinges Judy could have called Intertek the manufacturer of the doors and attempted an inspection , rust removal or replacement with marine hinges and screws. No attempt was or has been attempted. Have I consulted a lawyer, No. Have I gone on social media and expressed my feeling, No. Have I called the TV station ,No! I have remained civil and attempted a resolution. Now I need you.

Business Response /* (1000, 9, 2022/08/18) */ It is always the goal of Weather Tite Windows to ensure our clients are happy. The reason Weather Tite Windows has the great reputation in the marketplace is because we always stand behind our work and if any deficiencies are found we take care of them. Mr. ****** purchased windows from us in 2016. After a few weeks of negotiating price, a contract was signed. Mr. ****** did not purchase the additional accidental glass breakage warranty from the manufacturer at that time. As we explained to Mr. ****** it is unfortunately not something we can purchase for his windows from the manufacturer six years later. Mr. ****** does have a warranty on his glass for manufacturing defects, however negligence by the lawn company is not something that is covered. Mr. ****** has also stated that his door hinges have rusted over time. We have offered to schedule a service to replace them with new hinges approved by the manufacturer. I understand Mr. ****** would like marine grade hinges, however that is not how the door was certified or tested by the manufacturer. The manufacturers spend millions of dollars to certify their products for the Florida Product Approvals for the Miami Dade certification, and by changing any components of how the product is tested, would not only compromise the structural integrity of the product, but it would also void the warranty with the manufacturer. We have explained this to Mr. ****** and again, would be happy to replace the hinges with the approved hinges that are not marine grade. We apologize to Mr. ****** for any frustrations this has caused him. We have serviced his product for the past 6 years under his warranty and will continue to do so. Consumer Response /* (3000, 11, 2022/08/19) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) I was never offered the glass breakage warranty when the contract was negotiated and signed, had I been offered the warranty knowing that glass breakage was not included I would have accepted the offer. As of this date 6 years later I still have not been offered this opportunity to purchase and yes if offered I would accept and purchase. If Weather Tite can show me a refusal of the offer I would accept that I was mistaken. I stand by the statement that it was never offered because the salesman Told me glass breakage was covered. Does Weather Tite wish to offer it at this time ?
