      Since I started my rental of a 10'x20' storage unit in July of 2019 **** has had a monthly rental increase 6 times, 2 times in the dame year. This is clearly price gouging and pure greed.There is no power in these unites nor ate they climate controlled. In July of 2019 my monthly paymen was in the amount of $163.00 a month, today my monthly paymen is $364.00 They have cut 3 of my locks that value over $30. each, just for me being 3 days late on my payment during COVID lock down. This is a disgraceful and unsympathetic company.

      This place is a racket. I rented three units. I had set up all three for auto pay and wish I never had. As I had found an apartment and had a moving crew scheduled, I went into the office to advise the manager that I would be moving all of the items out of the largest unit into the two smaller units. While there, I told her that there had been 4 mouse carcasses in my mid-sized unit when we cleared out the household goods, and as we talked about that, another customer came in and told me that the rents were going up on the first of December. I felt that that was an insult to raise rents on units that were not pest controlled, so when I went home I removed the two remaining units from auto pay. Unfortunately, those payments still went through. We had moved everything out of all three units on the 4th of November. I called the company, Storage Rentals of America, to see if I could get my money back. I was told that it was in the contract that they do not pro rate rentals when a unit was emptied, only when you move in. I had rented these units for two years, so I clearly didn't remember what was in the contract. In addition, in the two years that I had the two larger units, the price of the largest went up by 37% and the mid-sized unit went up over 75%!! I don't know how others feel this was a fair price unless you've been truly gouged somewhere else. If there were some improvements to the place, I could understand it, but nothing had been done, in fact, when we were emptying one of the units, my friend asked the manager if he could use the bathroom and she told him it was broken. And in spite of the fact that the office was supposed to be open at least 5 days a week, I had gone there several times after the previous manager had left and found no one in the office, and the gate was closed. I feel that the company has scammed me out of just under $300. I will not ever use this company again, and will tell everyone I know not to use them as well.

      We are sorry to hear about Mrs. ***************** experience with SROA. Upon communication with the Property Manager (**) for the *************** we were told the tenant informed the ** of their intent to vacate all three of her units due to the planned rate increase in December. The ** informed her that the move out needed to be completed by October 31st as the bill is due on the first of the month. We do have on file that the tenant moved out on November 4th. Our facility does have pest control and the tenant did disclose to our ** that she had several boxes of food in her unit when informing us of the mice she found in her unit, which is prohibited.


      Regarding her coming by the property and no one being at the office, we sincerely apologize for not having someone at the office during that time. Our Property Manager was on maternity leave for 3 weeks and had just returned to the office on October 28th.
