      I have a Delta Dental High Benefeds Policy. After reviewing with a Periodontist and full evaluation, I need deep cleaning and bone grafts on top and removal of all my teeth on the bottom and a snap in denture. Overall the entire procedure is $15,000. I have had this estimate checked out with 2 other Periodontists and it is correct. The deep cleaning uses Laser - which is the most effective, and the snap in bottom denture will require 3 studs implanted to hold the denture. After submitting the full plan to Delta for a pre-treatment estimate, they will pay $2289.50 out of $15000.00. They wont pay for the laser gum treatment, nor even the materials needed for the bone grafting. Nothing for the implants even though they are just studs, not teeth. What a horrible policy.

      Delta Dental Insurance Company has been sending mail to our personal address which has a business name on it. I contacted Delta Dental and asked them to please quit sending mail which is being sent to ****************************** but has our personal address. The gentleman who helped me said that it was my responsibility to go to the local post office to get the problem resolved. I told them to please ****** ****************************** to get their address and change it in their records so that I would quit receiving the mail. The gentleman again stated that it was my responsibility to go to the post office. When I asked for a supervisor he put me on hold then returned and stated there was not one available and again for me to contact the post office. I do not feel like it is my job to do their work when all they have to do is get the proper address so that the mail can be delivered to correct address!

      Horrible **************** attempting to force me to keep a policy I no longer needed. Each time I call there is at least a 20 minute wait for a Rep. Today I get a rep who tells me I HAVE to keep my policy and pay for it for the next 9 months until it renews and there is no way to cancel it. She told me she could not cancel it on her computer at all. I ask her to direct me to where it states that and all she can reference is one line in the contract saying the policy is for 12 months. When I pushed for her to show me the option of cancellation, and if she couldn't tell me where to find it, to let me speak with someone who did, she disconnected the call. I called back, waited another 20 minutes again, and another rep then quotes the same one-liner but then sees that my policy had been cancelled within that 20 minutes. I asked him how did it get cancelled but he said he couldn't tell who had cancelled it. Then all he could say was, Well you should be good now, because it's cancelled. I would absolutely NEVER use them again, nor refer them to anyone again.

      TWO of our last dentists dropped Delta Dental for lack of payments & processing that takes well over 4 months. Finding it hard to obtain a dentist covered through insurance for the first time in my life. ***** Fargo sure has dropped the ball here.

      Trying to get in touch with someone is a nightmare. 35 mins on hold before talking to anyone.... . Bigger issue - 22 years of loyalty and treated terribly. Learned the hard way that the percentage paid by Delta is based on EACH PERSON's amount of visits in one year, not the entire family. (Incentive program through my teacher benefits) So- if one family member does not go 2x per year, they are bumped back to 70%. Also, their new payment system is terrible. You have to pay the full bill and wait for a reimbursement from Delta. Great. This is seriously frustrating. Do not use out of network dentists is what they want. They will give you pennies to pay your bill compared to in-network. Too bad we have to learn this the hard way. I hate DELTA DENTAL.

      Horrible company. My employer chose them as our dental plan. They denied benefits because my semi-annual exam happened a few days before the 6 month timer expired, leaving me on the hook for hundreds of dollars that I did not expect or plan for. They will literally find any reason to deny benefits. Do not choose this business!!!

      My dentist is constantly trying to get my claims paid. The dentist office is always on hold for an hour trying to resolve payment. When they finally speak to someone they always say the check had been sent it is always 2 months ago it was sent but Dentist has never received the check. So then they have to call back several times because they are on hold for so long so they can reissue the check. This has been going on over a year now. I have only been with them July or August of 2021. I have complained to my HR but I missed enrollment deadline to unenroll. My HR stated if there are too many complaints they will not offer their services next year. Also they pay very very little, it is not worth keeping this insurance.

      Made appointment online a month ago online filled out all information get to the appointment the lady t front desk has me give insurance card and calls me back up an says I'm sorry but we consider apps. Done on line your listed as a walk in an we aren't taking walking anymore.they sent me reminders for appointment but yet can't see dentist. Bad way to do business.no stars il never go back to them. My advice is the way I saw the lady in front ********* and roll her eyes with customers was enough for me. All I needed was a replacement denture for top well one of there employees just cost them ******* sale im going back to my dentist went there because the advertisement I saw could have saved me ****** but I'm glad it didn't go through at delta dental because I could only imagine how unprofessional the dentist are there too.

      i submitted a grievance (that was denied) about a claim that resulted in me paying an extra $150. . I was told in my pre-treatment estimate that Delta Dental would pay $436.80 and they only paid $291.**. Delta Dental told my dentist that it was because they only cover silver fillings and not white. (which no dentist even does silver fillings anymore). But then when I called Delta Dental about this on 8/26, the customer service rep told me that the change is cost was because I had two fillings in the same tooth in under two years. So my first complaint would be why did I and my dentist get told two different reasons for the cost difference? My 2nd complaint is why wouldnt it come across correctly in the estimate? Because if it would have shown the two year restriction, I wouldve waited one more month to get my filing in tooth #** so that it would have been covered. Ive never had any issues happen before with my estimates and I have had Delta Dental insurance for a very long time. I am hopeful that you will make this situation right and refund the additional money that I had to pay. i also asked them to confirm that the benefit info was actually sent to me and they said i had to be the one to seek it out. this is ridiculous.

      I haven't had issues with my coverage, but this company goes out of its way to make things difficult. I realized that my son was without coverage after changing my health insurance and called to see if I could add him as a dependent. They said I would have to submit a paper form in the mail. It took over 2 weeks for me to get a response saying he didn't qualify. When I called, they said I would have to enroll him in his own plan for a year, then cancel at the end of that year and then add him as a dependent to my policy. I asked if I could get this done in a week and they said they couldn't do it over the phone because there was already an existing policy under my name. I would have to fill out an additional form, but this time I was able to fax or email. I emailed the forms on the same day and after a week called to check the status. They said I must have misunderstood because it had to be sent by mail. I told them that I had double-checked, the forms contained credit card information and now I have to resubmit via mail. WHAT YEAR ARE WE LIVING IN!? I've already wasted 3.5 weeks trying to get my son coverage and now I'm looking at at least another 2 with a possible waiting period on top of that. No thanks... went to terminate my policy today. No surprise, I have to submit a paper form via mail and wait for a response. AVOID THIS COMPANY IF AT ALL POSSIBLE.
