1 starHad my annual physical this past April. Was charged $243 for PREV VISIT, EST, AGE (no issues there, 100% covered by insurance) AND at the same time $253 for OFFICE VISIT ***** (not covered by insurance). ***** insurance representative tried to decipher why after we were placed on hold for 30 minutes w/ their billing **** b/e the call was dropped, but to no avail. This practice has a history of hidden fees (my wife was hit $105 last year by the psychological evaluation fee already covered by other complainers) that a good lawyer could have some fun time unraveling.Every business is free to disclose / apply fees, but not in a deceptive way. That's where my complaint lies.Review fromSandeep B

Avoid this place .Total scam .They have common practice of billing you unjustified for Annual Physicals .Read other customer reviews here and you will understand .Went there for Annuals physical which is covered hundred percent through insurance .I received bill for the treatment which I never asked for .I was having minor coughing which the doctor doing annual physical notice and herself started asking questions, which I never asked for .I clearly asked doctor 3 times that "Is this covered under my physical " and she said yes .Coming home I received huge bill .They even charge you for setting one time patient account of 400 dollars .This place is total scam .They try to disguise you under name of annual physical and later send you unjustified bills .There front desk and doctors are literally not aware of any information and always give you wrong information intentionally .AVOID THIS PLACE IF YOU CAN TO SAVE YOURSELF .Southeast Medical Group

1 starI went to this location to get some blood work done in October of 2023. I do not have insurance and I had planned on gettin on a payment plan. When I went to check out I was told that if I took care of the balance the day of I would receive a discount (I beleive it was 20% but either way it was too significant to pass up so I decided to pay in full). I am now being contacted by creditors for the remainder of my balance over a year later. I was asked if I had the receipt and I obviously didnt have it handy given the amount of time that had passed. I did find a receipt that was emailed to me but it just gives the total amount I paid that day no breakdown of any of the services I received, nothing indicating that I had a remaining balance or the discount I received for paying in full at the facility. Here I was thinking that I wouldnt have to deal with making payments even though spending that money right then and there would put a damper on my finances for that month and I get slapped with a remaining balance a year later from a creditor so not only am I dealing with a bill that was already paid in full but now my credit is being affected due to the negligence from someone at this facility.Review fromEmily C

Went for my annual physical and got sick prior to going. Once the ** came in, I mentioned I have an upper respiratory issue and would also like for her to check that out while Im there. Was told I cant do that. When I asked why, the ** said I dont have time to check you for that. Youre scheduled for a 30 min. Physical and an office visit is 15 min. And I dont have time to be in here for 45 min. At that time, I checked my watch. My physical was complete 10 min. later when the ** asked if I had any other questions. I said I have 20 min left of my allotted time, can you check out my upper respiratory issue was told again no, I dont have time and I need to see other patients (even though I had 20 more min.) and that Id need to pay a co-pay for that type of visit. To which I said I was happy to pay a co-pay, but she still refused to treat me for that. At the end of the day, the assessment was basically completed during my physical, ie listen to lungs, look in ears, look at throat, but the ** could not take an additional 5 min. To tell me what was going on and prescribe an antibiotic (if she saw fit to do so). When I went to the front desk to try and schedule a walk-in visit to be assessed further, that same ** was up there chatting with the receptionist and not treating other patients.Southeast Medical Group

1 starI have a terrible experience trying to have emergency blood pressure medication refill for one week or two. I was completely out of medication. I visited the clinic an week prior but the nurse told me my medications were refiled only to find out that it was not. No Person was kind enough to refile one week or two week emergency blood pressure medication. Two weeks, may be three weeks emergency blood pressure medication was denied because they needed me to have appointment before it is refilled.Review fromScott B

1 starWent for routine annual physical. They gave me intake paperwork which they never told me included a billable psychological evaluation. Received a $100 bill for the paperwork. I challenged it because I didnt ask for the psychological evaluation and they disguised it as required paperwork. When I challenged it, they cited I signed paperwork to agree to pay for whatever insurance didnt cover. Total scam. Avoid this buisness at all costs.Review fromleda b

1 starI have been going to this practice for years.I went for the yearly physical check up and received a bill for a questoinnaire that was on the precheck list before the doctor sees you per the billing department. The questionnaire was about anxiety/depression.I thought it was strange that these questions were being asked but as it was on the prechecklist for me to complete prior to seeing the doctor. I completed it.I was not notify that this would be a charged at all.I asked the billing department to waive it and they stated as it was completed it can not be waived. The billing **** apologize that I was not notify.I also email the office manager and have not heard back. This is very dishonest and basically fraud.I know the economy is not at its best but to start billing patients for things that were not asked for nor informing patients is stealing/fraud in my ********** doctor that I normally see is great but this is not worth going back.Things like this is stressful to get resolve.I also had other billing issues in the last year that I was able to resolve due to an error on the practice. This should have been my sign to move on from this *********** I not familiar on the exact charges and billing codes it can be very hard to dispute.I am pulling all of my family from this practice and will advise friends/family not to go to this practice.Review fromAjit B

2 starsBilling department invoiced item not covered by insurance during annual visit. The item was identified as "psychological evaluation" when in fact it was not requested - there is no record of complaint, identified symptoms, diagnosis, or prescribed medication.Explanation was that the charge was accepted based on the fine print wording in the consent forms filled!Because of the for-profit nature of the business, the business is focused on increasing revenue.Review fromRoz J

My first time here and worst experience. I called and scheduled my annual physicals as they were in network with my insurance. When I got to the facility on the day of my appointment I checked in at the front desk and they confirmed I was there for my annuals. I met with ********** (she was pleasant) and told her I just wanted the regular annuals done. She sent me to the labs and I left. Two weeks later I got a bill from Quest Diagnostics for 4 tests I was responsible for. I called my insurance and they told me the code submitted was not for a routine test. So I had to reach out to the billing department to get that fixed. I called the customer service line at ********************************************* and was told they could not do anything about it, (that was a lie and a way to brush me off). I went on to ****** and wrote my reviews and finally got a response to email the billing and patient relations. After a few emails, I was told the issue was escalated to patient billing to correct the code. After a month I followed up again and was told ****** (patient relations) was on vacation. Has she been on vacation for a month or did she not want to fix her mistake? Her assistant called me yesterday (7/2/24) and said they have corrected the 3 lab tests but the 4th one I need to pay. I asked WHY??? why was I not told beforehand that a test would be performed and would not be covered by my insurance? ****** (assistant to patient relations) said some insurance covers and some don't. Then I have the right to know before you start running lab work. I was not informed of the tests being performed. I have been doing my annuals at other facilities for years and never got billed for annual physicals. I requested ***** to escalate this and send me an email following our conversation but she didn't. No one wants to own or do their work here properly at this facility. I am left with a bill to chase around Southeast Medical so that they can fix their mistake.Southeast Medical Group

07/05/24 Update: After contacting the billing department, a representative reach out as well as the office manager to provide us with further insight on your matter below:
Billing: The patient had an issue with her Quest bill. Her insurance has paid her medical bill. ******** and Quest bills are handled thru the office manager. We have sent several emails to the office manager to contact the patient.
Office: The manager was already handling this concern and spoke with patient this week as patient mentioned in her response. The issue is that for some of the labs that the provider ordered, they are not considered preventative by her insurance company, so they are not covering them.
Thank you.

I followed my longtime doctor to the ***************** of North Atlanta Primary Care. He has now retired and ever since the practice became part of Southeast Medical Group, dealing with the office has become a nightmare. Most recently, my prescription refill request was ignored from May 8th to May 20th. My pharmacy submitted the refill request on May 8th and after days with no reply, I followed up in the patient portal. When there was still no response, I called and left a voicemail (I tried to reach a human being at the *****************, but finally gave up). Neither my pharmacy nor I received a reply of any kind until May 20th when I heard from the doctor in the portal who apologized for the delay and said he had been on paternity leave. I wrote him back and thanked him for taking care of the refill but pointed out that a practice should never ignore one of their patients for as long as I was ignored, and asking if he could assure me that things would get better. GUESS WHAT? No response after seven days now. Unfortunately, this isnt the first time Ive had to practically beg for a prescription refill, but it is definitely the most egregious case of non-communication I've had from this practice. I see from other complaints here that I am not alone.Southeast Medical Group

Hello ****,
We are extremely sorry for the delay in our response and assure you that this isn't acceptable within our organization. We have contacted the management team over at ********** to ensure this doesn't happen again and to have the provider respond to your latest portal message as soon as possible.Thank you so much for your patience, and we truly appreciate your loyalty to us.
