      I went to LoanMax on September 14th 2020 to see about a title loan. There was a hurricane forecasted that was going to be quite serious and I reside in a trailer with my two boys under the age of 12 and wanted to be able to evacuate.I had heard of title loans when you're in need of cash fast. I made the phone call to Loanmax and they told me all I had to do is bring in my ************************* vehicle and that was it. So I did . Filled out the appropriate paperwork ,she took my titlle, looked at my ******* signed the paperwork . In my understanding, stated that I was getting a $1,500 loan and was to pay back $1875. And from my understanding to the fact that the payments were rather high I thought that was fair I would get the loan paif back rather quickly. However after making a $450 payment in October 2020 and then $490 November 2020 -followed by $450 in December 2020 and then in January 2021 a payment of$400. I don't seem to have a record of February 2021's payment but then March 10th a payment of $375 and again April 2021 for $337.50. Those figures anounts to $2502. And that figure is almost $700 over the amount in my paperwork. I haven't made a payment since the last one in April 2021 and that's due to the fact that I thought I overpaid but they're still saying I still owe $800.?? How can that possibly be? With these figures I paid more than twice the amount back in a very timely manner. So I can't imagine if interest would have anything to do with the change how can you pay that much interest when you pay the loan off that quickly -in less than 7 months ,I paid back the loan twice. I don't know how that can be legal. At one point they called and said the settlement was $250 but just recently the settlement is $850. I believe this company is scamming desperate consumers at their lowest.It's been a year since I made a payment $ last month they used aggressive language -i need to pay$850 or more action will be made.

      Thank you for notifying the ******* of Ms. ***** complaint.  We appreciate this opportunity to respond. 

                  The ******* operates in strict compliance with state and federal laws and has committed no wrongdoing.  On September 14, 2020, ************ borrowed $1,500.00.  The terms, conditions and cost of the loan were fully explained to ************ by the *******s personnel, as well as on the loan documents as required by the Federal Truth in Lending Act.  Based on the monthly income and expense information that ************ entered on her application, the loans scheduled payment was within her ability to repay.  At no time did ************ indicate that she was confused or did not understand the terms of the loan.  

      Ms. ***** loan was due in full on October 14, 2020. A review of her account reveals that instead of paying her loan off in full when due, ************ elected to submit the minimum amounts needed to extend her contract.  The last time she extended her contract was on April 13, 2021.  After ************ defaulted on her loan, the ******* made a good faith effort to try and work with her, but she has been uncooperative and had limited communication with the *******.   

      Notwithstanding the above, the ******* always tries to work with customers.  With that said, in a good faith effort to resolve this matter, the ******* is willing to settle Ms. ***** account for the reduced amount of $200.00.  If ************ is interested, she should contact the *******s Assistant General Counsel,******* at ************ by August 5, 2022.
