It happened today Feb 28 2023. This business mailed me a check for $5.00 (I did not request this check). Nothing on the check obligated me for any action whatsoever. I put it in my checking account a few weeks ago.Today one of their sales person came by and insisted that if I did not talk to him, "they" would keep coming after me because I cashed the check. He implied that I owed it back to them. I had to threaten to call the police to get him to leave. I worry more about the other people that they may have spoken to in this manner. It may be some kind of scam to rob the elderly. That is why I believe they should be investigated.

Good morning.  I apologize for the experience you are had from the agent that came to your door.  This is not the way we expect our agents to behave.  We will immediately remove your information from our database so that you will not be further contacted by any other agent including that one, and we will contact the manager of the agent involved  to take action to eliminate this type of behavior from ever happening again.  The check is our gift and does not obligate you or any other person receiving one to accept a consultation or make any kind of purchase. Your response at the door should have been honored immediately so I would like to apologize on behave of our organization that they did notleave as they should have and for the comments they made.  I hope you will accept our apology not consider this agent to be reflective of how we instruct them to do business. Over the course of 5 months i have received on average ***** phone calls per day even after repeatedly requesting to be removed from their call list. I thought Auto-Dialers were illegal? This is Telecommunications harassment and i intend on reaching out to a lawyer in the future for a class action suit as multiple neighbors and friends are getting the same thing.

These calls are not coming from our company.  Over the past few months, we have been alerted to a third party that has been using our name to make these calls.  We are working with law enforcement and our legal counsel to determine the identity of the party making these calls. However, given the ease in spoofing numbers, this has been difficult.  If the complainant is willing to provide additional information, such as the date and time of some the calls, what number was identified in the caller id for the caller and the number that was called, we can provide that to our investigative team.

North American Senior Benefits, *** takes full compliance with the **** and related laws and regulations very seriously.  We are working diligently to the extent we can to help stop these calls.

    Greetings,

I am very sorry to hear that you have concerns about your policy.  We would recommend speaking to the insurance carrier-the company that holds the policy.  They can go over the details of your policy with you.  If you would like to have a different Insurance Broker look at the policies and review the coverage between the two policies for a second look I am happy to put you in touch with someone.  I can be reached at ******************************* and would like to elevate your concerns.  We can also be reached at ************.

why did you send me a 5 dollar check and is it legal?

    Business Response

    Date: 09/13/2022

    Greetings,

We send checks to potential clients that when cashed give us permission to contact you about the insurance services we provide.  Yes, it is legal and you may cash it like a regular check.  If you do cash the check it gives one of our agents permission to reach out to you to tell you about our insurance products.  If you do not wish to learn more about our products, do not cash the check and you may simply throw it away.

    Thank you for your inquiry,

North American Senior Benefits agent, ***********************************, Came soliciting to my door and after 3 hours he talked me into canceling my ***************** policy right then, and signed me up with Royal Neighbors- dated July 19 this year. He got my debit info and said the premium would be debited monthly. Then he left. I am 80 years old, and my son witnessed the conversation with ***************** telling me I was now covered. I received a notice from Royal Neighbors today stating that my coverage would begin on August 22, this year, when they debit my first payment. I now have no life insurance whatsoever until August 22. I emailed ***************** the next day and asked him why he didnt leave me a binder and he bypassed the question - assuring me that Royal Nighbors was a great company and all was well. I have no coverage for a month - bad business- taking advantage of elderly person. ***************** was very charming.
