We built a home in ********* ** and unfortunately Pulte was the builder of our home. When we first moved in, there were some minor issues with the workmanship and we contacted customer service, the obsolete worse customer service **** I have ever encountered. First words out of their. Outs are No, we dont cover that. After much pursuit, they did end up fixing the issues. But lets note the handle on my toliet broke 4 times in 6 months. Many phone calls to customer service did not work, ended up having to call the corporate office. Now its time for one year inspection, we hired a third party to do the inspection, nothing terribly major. Their customer care **** ***** was able to get the trades to come fix the items, all in one day. Of course there were some trades that never showed up. We were able get some of them to come out when promised but not all of them. We are still waiting for Pulte to get the bathroom company to come and try to fix a problem. Many, many phone calls, emails to the horrible customer care **** and yet again calling the. Corporate office, nothing has been done. They made several appointments to come and fix the problem, some appointments they never showed up, I wasted time staying home from work for no reason. Then the company showed up with no appointment, no one was home. Many phone calls and promises and nothing happened. Now the customer care manager threatened me by stating, you have to be available or we will not fix the problem. I sent an email to two people in corporate, no answers. I was available for the to fix the problem, they came out and no one fixed it. They would look at the problem and say, we dont have the tools to fix it. That situation occurred at least 4 times. So I missed work 4 times for no reason. Neither Pulte nor their trades have fixed the issues or attempt to contact me again to try to reschedule. Worse company ever! Dont buy from Pulte, I am sorry we did.Business Response

Dear BBB,
Thank you for forwarding the recent correspondence from ************************ We are aware of the items of concern in the home and have been in communication regarding them. Pulte attempted numerous times to schedule a courtesy repair in the home, with a repair arrival time of between 8am and 12pm. The customer was not available to open the home and advised would not provide availability past 9am for repairs. After many failed attempts at gaining access to the home, Pulte subsequently closed the service request.
We appreciate you making us aware of this customer contact.
Sincerely,
***************************

I paid an ******* down payment of $8k for a newly constructed home. I lost my job in June and was denied a mortgage by Pulte for the new home. I have been trying to get my $8k back as per their contract and I keep getting different answers. Pulte Homes has agreed to refund the buyer's deposit. We mailed a refund check to the address that was on file and the check was not received by the buyer. The title company has since spoken with the buyer again and received an updated address. The check has now been mailed to the buyer again. This should resolve the complaint once the buyer receives the check.Customer Answer

Their response is ridiculous. I had to call again and they said it was mailed to the vacant (unbuilt) property. Of course Pulte has my correct address given they sent me a mortgage decline. I asked ***** when the check will be mailed again and she said she can't guarantee it will be mailed tomorrow or the next day. This check should be mailed via Fed Ex. No I have to wait another week to get my money.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE I MMEAN ANYONE TO BUY A HOME FROM PULTE GROUP OR CENTEX HOMES!!!! The absolute worst customer service Ive ever encountered.. warranty services absolutely pathetic services. Things were not completed on closeting date and while we were moved in they had to replace the master tub and a whole window. During that time centex home builders in and out of the house fixing things someone stole a pair of shoes. Moved in and 24 hours later downstairs toilet overflowed and caused a 1/4 inch of water in downstairs area ruining personal belongings (which they do not cover personal damages). Found a 2 inch piece of wood in our plumbing. Took 3 days for restoration company to come out. The punch team they provided to restore the home was not even close to being par. The floor is the cheapest of cheap and glue is seaping out of the floors. Bowed walls which has been seen by production managers and nothing done about it. These homes are not inspected before they are sold unless you provide your own inspector. So many corners have cut and when building these homes and they use the cheapest of cheap materials. I DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE TO BUY FROM PULTE HOMES OR CENTEX HOMES!!!!Business Response
Date: 10/19/2022
Good afternoon I will respond on behalf of Pulte Group,
It is true we did replace the master tub and window at the request of the customer. Both had minor issues that were repairable, but we chose to replace both due to the request. We were then informed of missing running shoes. Despite repeated requests to the customer to make a police report; this was never done. Nor was any evidence provided other than statements that the shoes were missing and pictures of the shoes being warn while working out. Our warranty agreement with the customer makes no reference that we must reimburse without any proof of any impropriety.
Unfortunately, we then did have a plumbing leak which we take full responsibility for. We have put most of the house back together and only have a door that is scheduled to be replaced at the customer's next available appointment which is 10/25/22.
We have worked with the customer for the past couple of weeks to make our repairs are as unintrusive as possible. We have agreed to reimburse the customer $500 dollars, despite food costs being only approx. $200 dollars. The rest is for consequential damages, which are clearly called out in our warranty agreement as not being warrantable/reimbursable. This decision was made to show the customer good will because it is disheartening to have an issue when you first move into your home. We have and will continue to stand by the home in accordance with our warranty agreement.
If you have any questions or need any further information, please feel free to reach out.

On September 13 2021 we signed paperwork and put a huge down payment on a home with Pulte. In April of this year we paid it off including the closing cost $565,000. And now our house isn't being built it's like other houses around in Inspiration subdivision are being built before ours. I don't know if it's because we already paid ours, and they know they already have the money. We see houses all over *********** getting built before ours and it's starting to get frustrating. I'm afraid to say anything because I don't want them to do a crappy job where everything is messed up just because they want to get it done just to make us happy, but I think they should start moving on it. Being that we were a cash buyer I think that the house should already be built by now. I was told that it would be been done in April **** of 2022. Then every month from then it has been stated June/July, and has been pushed over from next month to next month, and they don't have supplies or workers, etc. Then to top it off after we already paid for the upgrade on a garage door with windows I'm being told that I won't get one. They put a basic garage door.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: I want something done. I sent 2 pictures and my house still looks the same since way before October 6, 2022. No joking houses that foundation slabs were done after ours already have wallboard and paint being done. **** was giving some concerns and he put the paperwork in his pocket and is now in forgot mode. Side door frame was supposed to be replaced and the pesticide line was supposed to be fixed along with the furnace closet. That has a gap that hasn't been filled in and corrected, I'm surprised it passed inspection.
Please advise,

Hello, my name is *********************** and I own a house that we closed on December 30th, 2021. My address is *****************************************************************************. We are located in a *** community called ****************************. This is a new community and houses are still being built around us, specifically the house right next door. Before Hurricane ***, the contractors and workers who work for Pulte, said they would secure the worksite. We also got an email from the *** assuring us all worksites would be secured. I also did my own research and found online that this is required by law. The ****************** also requires this, as we got a memo from them saying as such. The work sites were not secured. There were boxes of shingles left on roofs of houses, dumpsters full and overflowing, portable bathrooms left unsecure, etc. Because of this, my house received extra damage from the storm that it shouldn't. The boxes of Shingles flew off the roof next door and damaged/scraped up that side of my house. Also, water eroded dirt and apparently some of the house away in one corner to where I can stick my hand underneath my house in that spot. There is also a hairline crack running from the ceiling to the floor in my garage. I do not believe a new build, should be having that. I have sent emails after the storm on 9/28/22 and have not heard back yet. I have documentation saved of everything I have stated and pictures. I will attach pictures with this complaint. Pulte should still have an obligation to its community and people whose house they built and cared for. All I am asking is Pulte be held accountable for their actions. I would like them to paint/fix the side of my house where the shingles flew off and damaged it. As well as have one of their *******/contractors come look at the erosion and hairline crack and take the appropriate actions to fix it. Thank you for your time and please reach out if there is anything else, I would need to do. ***********************Business Response

This builder has the worse customer service. Ive had a water problem with water leaking on my covered front porch since I moved in and they are not taking responsibility to fix the issue. We value our homeowners and respond accordingly when concerns are brought to our attention. In this case, our team has spoken with the homeowner several times in regards to their concerns. We have met with the homeowner onsite several times and included our trade partners during those visits to assess the concerns mentioned. All visits to the home have yielded the same results which is that there is no warrantable concern that exists. The water that is noted by the homeowner does not still exist after a 24 hour period following a rain shower and all areas around the porch area are installed and draining correctly.
We consider this matter closed and have no further updates to provide.Customer Answer

Pulte has spoken with the homeowner on 11/4 at length about their concerns. Per that conversation, their was nothing determined to be wrong with the home that would require a warrantable response. However, Pulte is committed to address anything that is found if it is warrantable. With that, Pulte asked the homeowner to monitor the issue during the next rain event to see if it can be further refined as to where the water is coming from. Homeowner agreed with that plan and Pulte has not heard back from homeowner as of 11/8.Customer Answer

Good morning **********;
I had a contractor come out today and were just throwing around some ideas where he thinks that water may be coming from. The attached video is hes thinking maybe its coming from that corner of the roof and running along the inside of the walkway and then down the * channel and coming out the bottom. Maybe thats where we should do a water test.
Or he was thinking maybe its coming from the roof through the attic and then down that * channel. Ive never been in my attic so if I can or have someone look up there to see if theres any water stains maybe we can check that idea.this was my text message to *****, customer care and there was no response
I am waiting on his response. Attached is thevideo I sent.

The builder met with the homeowner on 11/14/22 to look at the concern. There was no moisture present at the time of the meeting. The builder looked in the attic and seen no signs of water intrusion from the roof. The builder also looked at the suggested concerns brought forth by the homeowner's contractor. The suggested water paths did not correlate with the area in question however the builder agreed to water test 2 additional areas - the front roof rake and the valley over the front door. The builder also agreed to remove one piece of the ceiling at the front porch to allow observation from above that area. Homeowner agreed on the plan and was appreciative. Builder advised homeowner the water tests would occur after Thanksgiving so as not to disturb them and due to trade partner availability. Builder is committed to make repairs and address the issue if a source is found.Customer Answer

We purchased a new construction home on Dec 29, 2021 from Pulte Homes. We have had issues since we moved in. The move in cleaning was not done, windows not cleaned with construction dirt, kitchen drawers and cabinets with construction debris still in them, air vents with wood scrapes and sawdust and drywall debris, basement floor covered with mud from a flood prior to move in that - all we had to do ourselves. We have had mutliple complaints that have gone unaddressed - outside of the promised one year warranty work. We have mutliple windows that do not operate - do not open - properly. The window contractor informed us that Pulte received faulty windows from the manufacturer. Pulte will not respond to this issue - they only keep promising to put in a "work order". This has been an ongoing concern since March of this year. Pulte never finish graded our home - my husband had to do it himself as we had water collecting along our home due to drainage of the yard and our sump pump ran constantly. He also graded neighbors as they also did not recieve a response. We had a manhole in the front of our yard that was caved in and the lid left off with a traffic cone to mark it. This issue was brought to their attention as a concern and safety hazard. They never came to fix it - once again my husband fixed it and paid for all the materials finally in July. Pulte refuses to reimburse us for the expense to repair. We did not have outside doors painted as promised. That work order also went in this past summer but was never done prior to colder weather. This is just a highlight of the multiple issues that have taken place. This is a neighborhood problem - not just ours. No communication as to when warranty work will be scheduled. Attempts were made to contact the national customer center as well as the ********* **** customer center - after initial response this past summer there has been no further communications.Business Response

BBB asks third parties who publish complaints, reviews and/or responses on this website to affirm that the information provided is accurate. However, BBB does not verify the accuracy of information provided by third parties, and does not guarantee the accuracy of any information in Business Profiles.
When considering complaint information, please take into account the company's size and volume of transactions, and understand that the nature of complaints and a firm's responses to them are often more important than the number of complaints.
BBB Business Profiles generally cover a three-year reporting period, except for customer reviews. Customer reviews posted prior to July 5, 2024, will no longer be published when they reach three years from their submission date. Customer reviews posted on/after July 5, 2024, will be published indefinitely unless otherwise voluntarily retracted by the user who submitted the content, or BBB no longer believes the review is authentic. BBB Business Profiles are subject to change at any time. If you choose to do business with this company, please let them know that you checked their record with BBB.
As a matter of policy, BBB does not endorse any product, service or business. Businesses are under no obligation to seek BBB accreditation, and some businesses are not accredited because they have not sought BBB accreditation. BBB charges a fee for BBB Accreditation. This fee supports BBB's efforts to fulfill its mission of advancing marketplace trust.
