      I originally had service with **** and Birch Communications called me and offered 50% less for phone service and no contract. I agreed. I was notified a year later the Lingo had bought out Birch Communications and I would be paying them. Nobody mentioned a contract. I canceled service with Lingo On 7/18/22. They informed me that I had a cancellation fee of $200 that I agreed to when I signed up with them I never signed up with this company and never agreed to a continual annual contract with them. I do not want my credit ruined by these people. This is just wrong. I can not get past their so called customer service people to get this resolved. Please help me.

      I was happy with Lingo's serice for years. Then this summer my **** went from under $20 to over $40.00. As we were on vacation and were a little short in pre-paying the bills - we were hit with a $40 **** with a on of new charges that were never listed or charged on the previous invoices. Our latest **** is for over $50.00 and we only used under $12 worth of long distance calls. This is like buying $10 worth or groceries and having to pay $50!!!!! For what? After talking to one of their agents... they offered a $3.50 reduction to this ****. SCAM. SCAM. SCAM.

      We do apologize and understand however due to the increase in regulatory fee charges being billed to telecommunications providers we did have to in turn pass those charges on to our customers. There was also an increase in your monthly charge for services, so all charges together did cause a dramatic increase in your invoice. Again we apologize but assure you we do our best to provide service at the lowest price possible.

      This place is a total scam. First time I called to cancel service, I was told when my end date was and to call within 30 days to avoid early termination. Second time I call was within said 30 days, however, I was told that I might have to call again if the process doesnt go through. Of course, I receive an email that I was billed again..no surprise. So when I tried to call today, they tried to give me the run around and say that I called 29 days ago and that I needed to call tomorrow (the 30th day after my call to cancel). Had to ask for a supervisor and wasnt given one. What a joke of a company this is. Youre already overcharging people for your service, locking them into contracts that are obsolete, and then try to rake them for trying to leave. I shouldve paid the termination fee two months ago to be done with this instead of saving $50 and the headache of these phone calls.

      Received my **** today and had approx 80 dollars worth of fees and different taxes added to my **** that were over a year old that they said they mistakenly had forgotten to add to my **** on several different occasions, called their customer service ***** very hard to understand the broken english they were trying to talk, everything very unorganized. Changing providers immediately.

      We apologize but we did an audit which revealed that as a company we had paid taxes for over a year for the charges you recently received. In error, we had not passed the charges on to our customers. These taxes are billed to telecommunications providers and are then passed on to the customer. We have added charges back to February of this year to your statement for the month of August. This is a one-time occurrence. Going forward, you will see the charges only for the current month. You may double check previous invoices if you feel you are being double charged to ensure you have not been charged twice for the same fees.

      Do not waste your time and money with this 2 bit dog and pony show. Initially, they had stateside customer service reps who were wonderful and could get issues rectified in a short period of time. Since they have joined the bastion of U.S. companies out sourcing to foreign entities whose employees (bless their heart) do try but language barriers and poor voice quality result in a time consuming exercise in frustration. No one in Alabama will talk to you. Just finishing up a month of no voice service with no communication from Lingo. Their quality of their carrier lines are atrocious and looking back at my service tickets it appears I lose service every other month. Land lines are the gold standard for voice quality and it is too bad there appears be no carrier who can step up to the plate and provide reliable quality service.

      Lingo has charged my account for several hundred calls made to ************ and supposedly originated all within the same second. These are obviously fraudulent. I have been trying to resolve this issue for over two weeks: an issue has been entered into the Lingo ticket system but no person actually assigned to work on it, human customer service agents are unable to help or hang up, all website links to customer service pages return 404 errors, emails to support addresses are not responded to. Pursuing my legal options for complaint resolution.

      Per our previous response via another means, we were going to escalate your request for refund, but we must go through the steps of having a refund processed which does include credit being requested and applied, the system picking up that credit amount and applying to your balance so that the account actually reflects a credit balance, and then having the monies applied back to your bank account. We do work these requests as quickly as possible, but from your standpoint you can have the monies applied back to your account faster by disputing the charge with your bank. Per your previous email response you have already contacted your bank to dispute the charge. At this point we must wait for the bank to send the request to have the monies applied back to your account. There is no other action that can be taken on our part once it is disputed through your banking institution.

      I was trying to resolve an issue with my startec account for hours, and the representatives send me from one person to another, and some of them just hung up on me. I was so frustrated with the service and the customer support, but Finally I landed on a person with the name of *******, she was super kind, professional and very helpful, I wish that Lingo hires more people like her. If you have an issue with Lingo or startec, don't loose faith, they have some good people still.

      Deceptive Phone call- zero stars I received a call suggesting their rep was with ***** After finding this BBB review, I have learned that this call was a deceptive way to get us to use a third-party carrier for our phones. I am amazed at how well the script was worded (to not do anything illegal) and to get us to use them as an intermediary. I stayed on the call for a while because I thought I was speaking with ***** When the rep sent me a contract to sign while we were on the phone, I realized something unsavory was happening and ended the call immediately.

      If I could give ZERO stars I would. Not once but twice my business phone lines have gone out! The first time my lines were stuck in rollover to my answering service. This cost me hundreds of dollars because the answering service intercepted EVERY SINGLE CALL for THREE weeks. Yes! It took them three weeks to send a technician! Not once did they offer to give me a credit on account. Now, the same phone line is down again. They tell me in the phone that they do not see an issue and that it is probably an internal issue BUT they are going to send a technician to come out on Friday evening at 7pm. When I state that we are closed at that time, he responds by saying Oh you dont need to be there because the grey box is located outside your building! Wait. You just said it was an internal issue inside! I tried to get them to reschedule me during business hours and they over talk you, will not allow you to speak to a supervisor and no one speaks fluent English! The entire time the operator is saying I cant hear you. When I finally lost my patience they hung up On me! As soon as I can get set up with a new company, Lingo will never be a provider of anything more than a bad memory for my business!

      We apologize for your inconvenience. I do see that you notified us of an issue with your service on 7/19/22. We do have a technician scheduled to be out to your location today 7/22/22. We do request the earliest available date for all technicians. The issue should be resolved today if it is not already resolved. I did also check the account for previous issues and see that you reported an issue on 6/15/21 that was resolved on 6/30/21. There was another issue reported 8/04/21 and resolved 8/11/21. We have issued a total credit of $115.72 for those two issues. We have confirmed as I write that the service has been restored today. Again we apologize for the inconvenience.
