My apartment complex uses Star Parking Services to regulate its parking situation. When filling out the decal application for Star Parking, it was stated on the application that to apply for an additional vehicle, a premier spot was not needed for my particular apartment complex ( I live at ****). So I went ahead and applied for a regular residential decal. I have screenshots saying so. I was denied my application so I tried contacting Star Parking to try to understand why I was denied but there is literally no way to contact them. They have a number but whenever I call and try to speak with someone regarding my situation, there is never anyone there. I have emailed a countless number of times and I have yet to get a response. I have tried asking my apartment complex to try to contact them and I havent heard back from them. I refuse to resubmit another application because the application fee is non refundable.Initial Complaint

I am filing this complaint against Star Parking for their unethical and predatory business practices, specifically their abusive booting policies and coercive tactics used against residents and visitors at ********************************. Their actions not only violate common standards of fair business conduct but also create an environment where individuals are left without any reasonable recourse. On [insert date], I experienced firsthand how Star Parking operates in a manner that is exploitative and devoid of consumer protections. After booting my vehicle, they refused to remove the boot unless I signed a non-dispute contract, effectively waiving my right to contest the ********** though I had already paid the fee. This practice is not only coercive but likely illegal, as it forces individuals into compliance under duress.Furthermore, Star Parkings customer service is non-existent. There is no clear dispute resolution process, and their representatives operate with a strong-arm approach, refusing to engage in any dialogue regarding the fairness of their enforcement actions. The fact that they have amassed 14 unresolved complaints with the BBB suggests that this is a pattern of behavior, not an isolated incident.Initial Complaint

On Oct 26, I parked in a lot with spots designated for ******** Gold (Porcelanosa took over the ******** Gold store last month). Car got booted. Attendant told me all spots are for Connaisseur *****. I disputed, as the spot I parked in is clearly marked for another store. Attendant told me he has been given these instructions by Connaisseur Paris. I went into Connaisseur ***** to inquire. They claimed they don't own the lot and having nothing to do with this, but the person I talked to was very cagy and evasive and at multiple points told me contracting things, clearly lying to me. I went back to the attendant who told me my only choice was to pay and dispute it later. So I paid. I then submitted a complaint to Star Parking, who administers the parking there. They say they have no record of this booting in their system. I sent them the credit card screen shot showing the payment. A manager at Star Parking just called me to say that the employee who booted me is a thief and kept the $75 without reporting it to Star Parking, They also say the lot is owned by Connaissuer Paris. They also hold the position that the boot is legal, despite the ground markings. All I am getting is finger pointing and what feels like half-truths. Someone is clearly running a scam here. I suspect that ***************** owns the lot and is participating in this scheme to trap people in their lot and extort payment from them for supposed illegal parking. It's the only thing that makes any sense. It's less clear to me if Star Parking is directly involved or if these scam is being perpetrated on the side by this employee at the behest of Connaissuer Paris. Regardless, a Star Parking employee took the payment, so they are therefore responsible.Initial Complaint

I have sent Star Parking valid documentation for my cars. I have tried to contact them by phone for over a month. I have called the number ************ for over a month. My family and I have paid the fees and they failed to respond back to me inappropriately and we have been forced to parking down the road for parking and suffer for over a month waiting on parking. I am requesting that Star Parking respond and expeditiously assist with our parking or we will have no other choice to file a claim on the owners bond and insurance for inappropriate business with pain and sufferings. This is definitely a errors and omission issue. I want this resolved immediately or I will be moving forward to file a claim against this business.Initial Complaint

I have received 2 boots in the past 2 days which has caused me to miss work. I am a resident who pays for parking and has my vehicle registered. I was booted for using electric charging which they have a 3 hr time limit on. However, no one ever uses the chargers! Ever! They have actual cobwebs on them I had to wipe off before use. The chargers cost as well. Also they have the slow chargers that take at least 10 hrs to complete. If I dont set an alarm to wake up every 3 hrs and reset the charger, I have to worry about being booted! They say its 3 hrs so its fair and everyone can use them. But *** lived here since may and only seen one other car use it! And they have spiderwebs on them! THEY ARE LOOKING FOR A REASON TO BOOT YOU! I asked the man, what should I do in my case? Because I driver a lot daily and need to charge at night. Im usually tired so I find it unreasonable to require residents to wake up every 3 hrs to reset a charger to avoid a boot! I also find it unreasonable to require residents to have to go to superchargers, pay more and sit for 2+ hrs waiting on a charge daily. I feel like they use predatory methods to get $ out of you! I could see if I was in anyones way using the chargers, but they know Im not. Also I told them they should add a fee option to charge overnight. I feel discriminated against simply for driving an electric vehicle! Had I drove a gas car, I can just register and park. But needing to charge my car has become so much of a hassle I will need to trade my car in or move! Very drastic solutions to just simply allowing paying residents an option to charge freely with a fee! I dont mind that! But to tell me if I dont wake up every 3 hrs I have to give u $75 is unreasonable and inconvenient! Predators is what this company is!Initial Complaint

I have been wrongfully booted by this company. I have waited over 5 hours to get the boot removed and was informed that a technician is on there way but never arrived. I missed several appointments that were scheduled and have lost money.Initial Complaint

The business put two boots on my car which was parked in my apartments garage while I was away handling a family emergency, the interaction was very problematic and unprofessional. First and foremost I received a boot for being parked over the line, not double parked, but simply too far over due to the vehicle next to me at the time being parked over to far and me being in a rush to leave town for family matters. In documents provided to residents by Star, there isnt a certain threshold of how far over the line a car is allowed to be it simply says no double parking and shows an image of a car clearly parked in two spots intentionally. When the technician (Technician 107) arrived to remove my boot he originally quoted me at $150 for removal, then changed to $225 after receiving a message from his boss. After discussion he mentioned the price would be honored at $150, but again changed prices back to $225 and threatened to leave without removing my boot if i didn't immediately pay, he also let me know I should just be glad they didn't completely tow my vehicle.Initial Complaint

My car was booted by star parking service - *******. My car was parked at my apartment complex, where *** lived for over a year, with no issues whatsoever. It is registered with star parking service, its mentioned in the lease. My tag is registered and everything is legal. I get booted because the technician claims that I didnt have a sticker, and therefore its illegal. I showed him my registration and my confirmation email and that I am allowed to park here. He refused to listen or even look. He said the tag is not enough. You need a sticker. Go online and register the car. I said it is already. I never received any stickers from star parking service anyways. But the gentleman is claiming that I violated the policy. However I pay the $75 and another $25 for a new application to get a sticker. The technician says now that you applied again you should be okay to park here, because your car is in the system so a sticker wasnt even required in the first place. Not to mention that the technician was very rude and disrespectful.Initial Complaint

1/31. Star parking services booted my car in my own apartment parking deck. I have a parking decal in my windshield and my car is fully registered with the leasing office. I just got a new Tesla last week and was charging in the ** spot when sentry mode let me know they were tampering with my car. I came out there and it was wrongfully booted in the parking deck I literally pay for. I tried to explain this but they just have your car hostage and dont care until you pay up. There is no dispute or review process with them. The link they provide to leave a review or dispute from the receipt doesnt work. Its a total scam. I also have a receipt from blink the third party charging company to prove I was using the ** spot - again its a Tesla parked in the correct spot for it. On top of it all the person who came out to unlock the boot didnt know how to do it scraped and damaged the car. Unreal hostage situation. I understand if I didnt have a decal or **, but this is my parking deck.Initial Complaint
