I live at the Arium Lenox apartment complex in *******, **. About 3 months ago my air conditioner unit went out. It is the peak of summer and my apartment was 100 degrees inside. The management office told me they had to order the part and it would take 2 weeks and sent me away. I then went back the next day and told them they are going to have to put a window unit in my apartment until it is fixed because I cant live like this. They did. It took 2 months to get the part and fix the unit. Today is 1 week since its supposedly been fixed and my apartment is 86 degrees inside with the air on 70 and after complaining several times they have put another unit in my bedroom and it has leaked water all over my carpet. *** told them this 2 days in a row now and nothing has been done. My feet submerge in my carpet there is so much water. I would consider this an emergency as this could cause severe damage to the roof of the floor under me. I havent been compensated at all for any inconvenience for the past 3 months in the dead of summer I have lived in a no air apartment along with paying my electric bill that has run up because of a continuously ran window unit that has to stay plugged in. To this day it still remains unfixed no matter who I call or who I talk to here at Arium apartments. I even went to the corporate headquarters up the street and they did nothing for me. I want a refund if 3 months rent and my air conditioner fixed!

We apologize for the issue that you had with your ** unit. After reviewing the work orders, the maintenance team responded in a timely manner to each work order posted regarding your ** unit and made attempts to remedy the situation each time. When the repairs were not fully resolving the issue, we ordered a brand new ** unit which takes 3-5 weeks for delivery and installation. A portable unit was installed during this period as a temporary measure. When the vendor installed the ** unit there were initial issues which have since been resolved and the brand new unit is working as intended. Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate your request for a rent refund.

I am rejecting this response because:

That is not true at all it took over two months before my house was properly installed an AC Unit and my house was not livable. Numerous times I left town in attempt to leave the extremely hot house because I couldnt take it and other times fortunately my girlfriend lives close to me so I was able to stay at her place. Not until after a month that I was actually given an A/C unit that only put a bandaid on the issue because only that particular area was okay and the rest of my apartment including my room was over 90 degrees. Then even after receiving the unit it continued to trip my breakers off every other hour because too much power was being generated from the unit so it never would stay on continuously. The unit clearly didnt take 3-5 weeks to order because I was without air for over 2 months, and on the record I went in to the leasing office numerous times and at one point they hadnt even ordered it yet neither did they have any update. In the middle of the summer an A/C not being existent for over 2 months is unacceptable and no other property would have ever taken care of the situation this inefficient and they should be penalized
      Sincerely,

      *************************

I few weeks ago I was told by the managament of Arium of ******************* in ******* that I would be allowed to do a lease replacement (as stated in my lease agreement) so I would be able to move out. A week later, I was told that I was now not allowed to do one even though it is in my lease. When I attempted to contact the leasing manager, she was suddenly out of office even though I was told of her decision not even 10 minutes before. As I stated in my email to management. I have received legal consultation and was told that they cannot just suddenly revoke my permission without reason.I also noticed that the person who was going to take over my lease was added as a ***resident even though I was told that she wasn't even given the application she was waiting for. She has now backed out of the leasing replacement because she feels as if the leasing office is being shady and unprofessional.I have arranged my moving around the permission I received to have someone replaced my lease and already had someone take out that lease. But because of their unprofessionlism, I now have to pay rent for two separate properties when I took the proper steps to ensure I wasn't.I am including the voicemail and screen shot proving that even if their permission wasn't in writing, they clearly had intentions to let me move forward with the lease replacement. At this point, I would like to be released from my lease with no fees because they were the ones who messed up the process and now I'm moving in a week.

We have reviewed your complaint and have spoken with the onsite teams. An application was sent to the new potential resident to be added as a roommate and the responsible party for the lease. However, as mentioned in the voicemail you provided, we never received the completed application and we were unable to move forward with that applicant being added to the lease. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer any release and the terms of the lease will remain.

As was stated in the previous complaint, they NEVER SENT a application to the person who was supposed to take over my lease. However, THEY STILL ADDED HER TO MY LEASE even though she found somewhere else to live BECAUSE THEY NEVER SENT HER A APPLICATION. And if they did sent a application, but it wasn't completed. Why was ***** added to my lease?

Also,  I called them back after receiving that voicemail, and that is when I was told that I was not longer allowed to do a lease takeover. ******** was the one in the voicemail, but her manager was the one is took back permission.  Gave no reason then was "suddenly out of office" for the rest of the week. Like I said to them in a email I sent them, I had a legal consultation and was made aware that they cannot arbitrarily rescend permission for a lease takeover without stating why. Which I asked for then never received an answer.

It is obvious that the leasing manager messed up and is now trying to wipe her hands of the situation. And talking to other residents, this is not new for her to bully or ice out residents.

I would like to be released from my lease. I've done nothing wrong and made sure that I followed the correct steps. It is the leasing office manager that messed up and now is trying to cover up.

I've attached a screenshot of ***** being added to my account. Which was taken the same day that I was told I couldn't do a lease takeover even tho I already had permission.
