      In summary: Cricket customer service is telling me they have no way to dispute errant charges on past bills or refund them. Despite my friendly and polite tone trying to resolve this, **************** has hung up on me twice. I don't know where else to go.I opened a phone line with Cricket in on May 22, 2022. I enrolled in AutoPay and the monthly charge was a bit higher than the cost of the plan I had selected-- I attributed the difference to taxes. Two days ago, when I called to upgrade my credit card, I learned that I have been paying $11 per month for 'phone insurance' for the past 10 months. I didn't ask for insurance. I had no idea I had it. I never wanted it. This fee was taken from my account without my knowledge or consent and I believe it should be returned.I know that the people in the call center had nothing to do with this problem and I was friendly to them. However they seemed unable to help. Maybe they got frustrated. But they hung up on me twice, and I heard them laughing in the background right before they hung up the second time. That's just not right. I would appreciate your help mediating this issue. Thank you so much.*************************** ************

      This ************** is in response to a complaint filed by ***************************. In this complaint, ************ states she enrolled in autopay and her monthly charges were higher than expected. She found she was enrolled in the Cricket Protect feature.  ************ states she did not request this feature be added to her account.
      We researched Ms. ***** account and found she activated her service on May 22, 2022. We located her receipt and noticed Crickets insurance feature was added and paid for. ************ also successfully received notifications on her device of the amount being drafted every month. She first reported her concerns on March 22, 2023, and requested the featured be removed from her line.
      We contacted ************ on April 13, 2023 and explained our findings.We explained that based on our findings we would not be able to complete her request. Cricket Protect was added at the time of activation and is shown on her receipt. ************ was also notified every month before her amount was being drafted.
      We would also like to remind ************ of Crickets Terms and Conditions which state; Amounts paid for Service Charges are non-refundable and Account balances are not transferable, refundable, or redeemable for cash. Full terms can be found at: ******************************************.

      I am rejecting this response because: I am reporting in good faith that I never wanted the protection service and was not aware I was being charged for it. I was not even informed I had protection when my phone was stolen and I went into a local branch to activate an old spare phone. I don't want to take action on this specific lost phone-- I'm listing this only as proof that I didn't know I was paying for protection and was not told I had it even at the time I should have been able to benefit from it.

      Policy may state that past charges are non refundable, and that makes sense as a policy for most cases. But I feel there is some dishonest dealing here and I would like the company to make it right.

      Based on our previous findings we will not be able to complete Ms. ***** request. 
      In our previous response, we explained Crickets Terms and Conditions. To offer some assistance, we provided a one-time credit that was applied to her account on April 18, 2023. 
      We contacted ************ on April 18, 2023 and informed her of our resolution. We explained we would not be able to issue a refund, however we agreed to apply a onetime credit to her account.

      I purchase a replacement phone that doesnt operate correctly on March 11,2023.I call Cricket to trouble shoot the phone 3 time .and went to the store regarding the phone asking them to help.The agent where I purchased the phone so call tried helping but his help didnt resolve the issue.I call ******* who issued a ticket number and refered me to an authorized dealer....they didnt have parts because the phone new.I was told the policy to get a new phone.I didnt agree because, I was out of money and brought this to cricket attention before the in house warranty. I asked for immediate replacement and to be accomodated because I had bought the phone with this issue.I was told a supervisor would call me. I have not received any call.

      This correspondence is in response to a complaint filed by *********************. In this complaint ************ states that his device is not working properly, and he would like to receive a replacement device.   

      Most Cricket devices carry a one-year manufacturer's warranty from the date of purchase. However, certain Cricket-branded phones offer the Cricket Two-Year Worry Free Warranty. Refurbished wireless devices carry a 90-day manufacturer's warranty from the date of purchase.       We researched ************** concerns and found his device is still under warranty. His device is eligible to be replaced under Crickets Warranty Program.  ************ was able to successfully get his device replaced on March 31, 2023 and is now showing active on his account.

      We contacted ************ on April 11, 2023, and explained our findings. We also provided our contact information in case he has any further questions or concerns.

      Bought a phone from cricket 8 mo the ago. 1-2 months later we switched cell carriers. I called cricket to unlock my phone so I could used with the new carrier. They told me I had to Own it for six months before they could unlock it. After six momths I called back. They told me they couldnt unlock it because it had to be active for six months. They never at any time before that told me it had to be active for six months, only that I had to own it for six months. I contacted consumer protection. They contact cricket and had a rep from there contact us. She said since They use **** services, they would have to unlock the phone. I contacted AT& T. They told me cricket would have to unlock it. I called cricket back again and was told they couldnt unlock it. They gave me the same runaround as before.they want me to go back on their service and pay them for another six months before they will unlock my phone. So now I am Stuck with a new phone I bought and cannot use. I think they can unlock it if they wanted to. I feel like they are just trying to get more money out of me. It has now been eight months I have been dealing with this. They changed their story from the first time I called to the one six months later. Can you help me please? I am 73 years old and on a fixed income. I really cant afford to pay then for another six months since I am paying a new carrier, nor can I afford to buy another phone because they refuse to help me.

Cricket will provide the unlock code upon request, provided Cricket has the unlock code or can reasonably obtain it from the manufacturer, and you have met the following unlocking requirements:
      The device you want to unlock has been active for at least six months of paid service on that device.
      The device is designed for use on and is locked to Cricket's network.
      The device has not been reported lost or stolen.
      The device is not associated with a fraudulent account.
      To view the full, unlock policy please visit *************************************************************************. Crickets unlock policy is part of the terms and conditions of service which customers accept at the time of activation and each month upon renewal of service.
      On March 25, 2023,Mr. ********* device was unlocked. He will need to complete the unlock process by tethering the device to iTunes with valid SIM inserted.

      I have been going to the local Cricket dealer off of ***************** in ******, ** for numerous months and paying my bill and getting a paper receipt. Today, while I was there I paid my bill and the associate said you are finished. I said I need a paper receipt and he said I don't have any paper for the printer. Then he said he texted it and I said I don't want that and I need a paper receipt for my company credit card. Then I asked if he could email it and he said yes and he put in my email address and I verified. I am now at my office and I have not received the receipt by email. What is going on with Cricket - no paper - what kind of operation has no paper - it seemed as if I was bothering him for him to do his job. I have been at the facility a couple of times and there were computer problems, router problems - wow not a great way to do business - I want a paper receipt-please get me my receipt - As of Thursday, still no receipt by email!!Thank you.

      I paid cricket ***** dollars fo get my number changed. I haven't had this number not even a week yet. There is bills collectors and ******** prison calling this number. I keep telling them wrong number and I block them. They keep calling from other numbers. I called cricket back and they told me to pay another ***** dollars to change it. I just did that. The number they gave me was just disconnected a week ago. I talk to a supervisor and she keeps putting me on hold or mute while I'm explaining to her, that I'm not paying again for a new number. I'm saying hello while she has me on mute. I keep waiting minutes for her to get back on the phone with me. That's some kind of supervisor.

      I called Cricket Wireless customer service number *************) on 03/22/2023 at 6:08amPT/9:08am ET to set up a monthly prepaid account for my phone. I spoke to a rep who took my personal information (including SSN) to set up the account. I became suspicious about the transaction when the rep could not provide me with the new phone number before taking my payment. I asked her if I would receive a confirmation/payment receipt to my email and she told me that I would. She took my payment and provided an account number and my new phone number. The phone was "activated", however, I never received an email order confirmation for the new account or my payment receipt. I checked my **** of America account and after the initial Cricket Wireless charge, there was a balance inquiry and ATM withdrawal posted to my account. I did not go to any ATM on 03/22/23 to perform a balance inquiry or withdrawal. As of now, Cricket Wireless can't confirm my account or provide me with any details regarding the representative who took my order.

In this complaint, **************** states she contacted Cricket Wireless to activate service., She provided her personal information and became suspicious when she was not provided the new phone number, prior to making the payment.

      **************** further states, she was told she would receive her receipt and account information via email. The payment was taken, and **************** was provided the account number and her  service was activated. She did not receive the confirmation email and shortly thereafter, she checked her **** of America account which showed the initial payment to Cricket Wireless and other transactions and withdrawals. Cricket Wireless cannot confirm my account or provide any details regarding the representative that took her order. **************** is requesting a refund.

      On April 5, 2023, we spoke with *****************  We requested that she authenticate the account.  Unfortunately,she provided the incorrect account PIN.

      We advised **************** to visit a Cricket Wireless Authorized Retailer with a valid ID to authenticate the account. **************** advised she will be getting an attorney.

      Call center has hung up on me and put me on hold for unreasonable amounts of times when I ask for a supervised and the phone all of a sudden hangs up.       This correspondence is in response to a complaint filed by *********************. In the complaint, Mr. ****** states that the Cricket Wireless *********** Team hung up on him several times.  Mr. ****** would like to be contacted by Cricket Wireless.   

      We contacted Mr. ****** on April 4, 2023, to gather more information about his issue. Mr. ****** requested a number change to area cade 943. We made several attempts to retrieve the desired area code,but unfortunately, we were unable to.

      Cricket Wireless has no control over the number our customers are provided. The number are pulled from the number pool.  Once that area code/number has been depleted from the pool, we move onto another set of numbers for that zone. We went over different area codes with Mr. ****** regarding obtaining his preference, but unfortunately,that was not possible.   We have issued a credit to Mr. ******* account to cover the number change charges.

      We want to apologize to Mr. ****** for any inconvenience or poor service he felt he received. Cricket strives to provide excellent service and we regret when that high standard is not met.

      I am seeking for this company to have better process when it comes to have an iphone unlocked. I left this company about 2 years ago but they insist of asking information that I no longer have. I understand that security this company have security measurements that they have to follow such as account pin that I don't have, however I should be able to just go to a store with government Issued ID and have no problem. I started this process by phone. After waiting an hour and 20 minutes the agent advise me that he could not help me unluck the phone and that I needed to visit a store. Fine. I went to the store and the lady tried looking up my account by phone and IME and nothing. She could not locate any account. So after wasting my time again I proceeded to call their customer service, The agent this time was trying to send me back to the store because I did not had a pin. I explained twice that the store could not help me because they could not find an account. Agent insisted that they did had a way of finding my account because he could see it on his screen. I asked to speak to a supervisor. While waiting for a supervisor I decided to stop at a different store. I explained the situation to the service rep. ** advised me that if I have not been with cricket for 60 days that he has no access to my account, Finally the supervisor comes to the line and I had to explain again what was the issue and she also tried telling me that I need to go to a store. I then had service rep. repeat what he had just told me and then she came up with the excuse that I need to open a new account, go through the process of activation (paying all the fees. Activation and monthly plan) just so I can have an Iphone that I had already paid for. It seems that they do this practices to rip off customers and try to get more money out them.

      As you can see on the screenshot they are charging me just whatever on data and I'm having to change my plan mid-month and I have got account credits that are just all over the place and they just taking money from me for no reason none of my building makes sense on a payment history it is impossible for me to have used 813 MB of data in 4 minutes plus they're charging me for 1 minute of data for the day before my billing starts on the 8th there's no reason for me to have the 7th included on the current month and I have on the screenshots that shows where they've added days into previous month's bills after I've already got screenshots of it not being on there before I don't know what they're doing but they need to correct it.

In this complaint, ****************** states Cricket Wireless is stealing her data, Cricket has been deducting data from the previous month of prepaid service. **************** is requesting a billing adjustment.

      We contacted **************** to gain additional details. **************** disputes the amount of data she is using. We engaged our technical support team to investigate. **************** is receiving and using the allotted amount of data for the rate plan she is on.

      We contacted **************** on April 7, 2023, and provided her with our findings.
