    OK...I have had many pets in my life growing up. Never in a million years would I have thought I would love chickens this much! This entire experience has been absolutely fantastic and it just started. Customer service deserves 10 stars. I highly recommend purchasing chickens and...and asking advice on how to properly raise some amazing birds.

    First time ordering ducklings through mail order. My Pet Chicken customer service was great to deal with when I had questions. Ducklings arrived safely and quickly. We have had them a week now and flock is doing great! We LOVE them!

    I ordered 8 baby chicks, hatched on July 29, 2024. Getting them home was confusing--I thought they would be delivered on the 30th, but were not. On the 31st, I received my mail around 3pm (individual box at end of driveway), but no chicks. I got in my car and found the mail van to ask if he had them. That's how I found out they were being held for pickup. Got to post office barely in time. Still, all chicks were in excellent condition. And I received 9 instead of 8! I also ordered a GroGel pack to feed them but that didn't arrive until Aug. 5, five days after chicks arrived. Let me tell you, they gobble it up. They love it. I wish I'd ordered two packs. (A little makes a lot!)
    It is now Aug. 9 (12 days old) and all nine chicks are doing great!
    In my order I included two frizzles. Since only 50% have the frizzle gene, I thought I'd be lucky if one had it. Well, it looks like I got two frizzles! I'm super thrilled about that! Now waiting and hopting to see there are no roo's. fingers crossed.
    I love that My Pet Chicken allowed small orders with no minimums per breed. The website interface was above average. The chick prices were very reasonable. Shipping was pricey, but I get it. I'm amazed that receiving chicks in the mail is even an option, and because it gives me the ability to design my flock (along w/no mins), the USPS fee of $67 was worth it.
    Overall, I highly recommend My Pet Chicken. Little glitches are to be expected and mine turned out to be minor but enough to bring score down a teeny tiny tad--I wish I could give 4.5 stars. But since I can't, I will stick with a 5-star rating!

    The post office is supposed to call you when your chicks arrive and they usually reach your local post office within 1-3 days after shipping. We always recommend calling the post office the week your babies ship just to be safe, though.     I received 8 baby chicks in March of 2023. They are all doing very well, laying 4-7 eggs a day and love their greens and treats. The treat they really like is the one I got from My Pet Chicken which contains various bugs and worms. I was not sure about ordering chickens through the mail, but it has been worth it. I liked that I could order different breeds. They have been quick to respond to any questions. I would recommend My Pet Chickens for baby chicks and supplies.
