This is my first time taking care of chicks and I was skeptical about receiving chicks through the mail, but decided to try it. In the first shipment, one chick out of three passed away within one day. The company refunded the price of the chick and sent me tips on things I could do during the first week to improve their chance of survival.
The second shipment was horrible with none of the chicks (6) making the journey. I reached out to the company once again and they were very caring.
We decided to try it one more time. I received all 7 baby chicks alive and chirping. It's been a week and they are thriving! I'm going to be moving the first two pullets into the coop next week and I'm SO EXCITED!!!
I also ordered 2 brooders and the quality of amazing. It's so easy to clean and pack up for when I need to use it again. My chicks love the food and treats. I'm glad I decided to go with My Pet Chicken.My Pet Chicken

I received two groups of chicks this spring. I now have an integrated flock of 16 made up oyableof 9 different breeds. They are healthy and thriving. My Pet Chicken did an excellent job of supplying, informing, updating and advising. They are thoroughly enjoyable to watch as well as being elegant and beautiful like this little girl.

Horrible customer service from the company. Terrible policy and replacement policy. Not easy to get help, rude customer service. Tickets are not handled on a case by case but rather treated as all issues are the customers fault. Recommend choosing any other hatcheryMy Pet Chicken

Chicks arrived healthy and all packaged for shipment. Able to order breed I preferred. Customer service superb and easy to reach. Great experience so far.

I ordered supplies for 12 chicks I was ordering. MPC sent me the wrong size (too small) heater plate. A nice rep told me they would ship the correct size plate and I could use the small one until I receive the larger unit.
The chicks were delivered and picked up early Wednesday, one Silkie was deceased. Then my egger bantam died that night I believe because the plate was too small and she was constantly pushed out by the other chicks. Then to make matters worse another Silkie that was a little weaker than the rest died the next night. I have contacted the company be email several times about all of this and they have been helpful, but no word yet on the 3rd chick that died. I love my chicks and I'm saddened by the loss. I will continue to purchase from MPC, but I would like at least my silkies replaced.My Pet Chicken

We are working with you to replace the chicks lost due to shipping on your order; the smaller heater plate should have been able to keep the chicks warm enough as it can accommodate up to 15 baby chicks, but the correct heater shows delivered, and hopefully gives you peace of mind. It sounds like your new little ones may have had a difficult journey and they are covered under our Live Arrival Guarantee. We look forward to resolving the problems satisfactorily for you!

The company returned my call, but only after this review. I do appreciate you getting back and refunding the dead chicks. If you are shipping to the north between October and June you should expect poor weather. I apologize for your lack of anticipation.

Ordered 10 chicks, 7 of which were dead when I picked up the package, it took me 15 minutes to get to the post office when I received the call that the chicks were ready to be picked up. I tried to communicate by phone and their message board, left messages at both and have yet to talk to anyone but an answering machine and a chat bot.My Pet Chicken

We are aware that there was a problem in transit due to an unexpected weather event near a central distribution center this week which caused some high losses on some orders. I have purchased chicks and pullets from MPC for two years and this time I decided I won't even try another hatchery. The chicks are healthy and true, the communication excellent, and the customer service is great. Greater variety of pullets than most other hatchery.My Pet Chicken

I have had my 8 chickens, 3 Barred Rocks, 3 New Hampshire's and 2 Welsomers, a year and they are doing great. They laid all winter and are laying 6 to 7 eggs a day during this spring. Some of them went through a molt this winter but recovered just fine. They have all been healthy, tame and love their treats. Most of them like to be petted and enjoy foraging when I let them out. They come when I call, better than my dog!! I don't sell eggs but enjoy giving them to my friends and family. I will purchase from My Pet Chicken again without a problem.My Pet Chicken
