    Have had my Silkies from MPC for a year now and they are doing well. Did lose one to Egg Yolk Perentisis :-( but according to my Chicken vet, it does happen, even tho I am meeting Protein/Nutrition/Calcium needs. They all have distinct personalities. I do not think they realize they are not one of the frequent laying breeds as they lay much more than expected!! Love them!

    I have been ordering hatching eggs and day old chickens from My Pet Chicken for close to 20 years and have never had a problem. From mixed color assortments of Silkies, to assorted colorful egg layers, not a one has ever arrived dead, and all eggs always hatched. Right now I'm growing out 16 assorted colorful egg layers, and next month 26 more will arrive. So far all have been exactly what I ordered without any surprise roos. In the past when hatching eggs, I sold roos with two hens at a discount price so they would move more quickly. It worked for me, but I also had someone who would take them for meat birds if I couldn't sell them. I'm in the city limits, so getting the roos out soon is always a big deal, that's why I now just buy day old chicks. I've had really good luck with letting a hen or two go broody, and then swapping their glass eggs at night for the day old chicks. In the morning proud mamas are strutting around showing off their new babies, and I can count on them to do all the rearing work win/win!

    I don't recommend, I ordered and paid for all hens. Wound up with many roosters... they offer a refund but that's not the point. I now have roosters to rehome because I don't want them in freezer camp but I can't keep them. Not at all happy!

    We ordered 10 Austrolorp hens, 2 Roos, and 3 Wyandotte hens in October 2022. Upon arrival, 1 Wyandotte was lethargic and almost DOA. We got her out of the box, gave her water with electrolytes and she died within an hour of getting her and putting her into the brooder. We also noticed that we had 1 Austrolorp that was blind in one eye and had an abnormal growth/tumor (She lived about 6 happy & loved months before finding her gone in the coop). 1 austrolorp was actually not Austrolorp at all, and ended up being a Barred Rock (we still love and adore our Barbara). One of the Roos is not even a full Austrolorp and has off characteristics that do not match the breed. I have had chickens my entire life, and never had this many problems or this sick of chickens in my life.
    If you want healthy, true to breed chicken babies, DO NOT order from MyPetChicken.

    We are terribly sorry you had such a poor experience with your order of baby chicks! Our policy does cover losses, deformities and even sexing errors. Our live arrival guarantee covers losses which occur from shipping and which are reported to us within 48 hours of arrival. Sexing errors, wrong breeds and late appearing deformities are covered when reported within 22 weeks of arrival. The first communication we have about any problems with your order was on August 16th where you left us a review of your order nine months after they arrived. Even though this notice was well outside our policy, we issued you a store credit for these issues to help you. We have not received a reply from you to let us know that this resolved your concerns. We would be happy to address your concerns in more detail if you contact us directly and share photos of the problems you have had. It is important to us to fulfill orders accurately and provide healthy chicks to our customers.

    Have ordered from them several times but never again after this past time. I received 5 chickens, one of which had splayed leg and the other which had genetic issues and proceeded to not only not grow but also died shortly. The one that died shortly had been a $100 chicken and when I contacted them not only did they refuse to help; I.e. replace the bird or offer credit, but they also were extremely rude and told me I was the one at fault.

    I NEVER leave reviews, but … Placed order yesterday (Tuesday). Messaged a change last night. Got email this morning telling me I can’t change order because the cut-off was last Friday, 4 1/2 days BEFORE the order was placed. Do yourselves a favor and find another source for your birds.

We understand why you wanted to keep only two birds and while this is not something we can accommodate, For the safety of shipping birds our minimum shipment for live birds is three. We regret we cannot make any exceptions.
