My 16 year old son went to Crunch Fitness in October 2023 with a friend who has a membership. The friend said that my son could work out with him for free a couple times due to the friends membership. Crunch got my sons name, phone number, address, birthdate and email address. They never asked if he wanted a membership. We recently received a collections notice from ******************* as a result of a defaulted contract for $166.18. Today my son went in person to ****** and they told him he would have to pay for the membership. My son called his dad while he was at ****** and they told his dad that he could either pay all of it now or pay half of it now and have a 3 month membership and cancel after that. My son never told them he wanted a membership.Initial Complaint

I went to Crunch Fitness in ******, ** on 1/31/2024 to inquire about canceling my membership. The guy stated he can do it and asked me why. I told him I was going to start a runners training program. He proceeded to type something in the system. He then informed me that I was liable for one more payment at the end of February. I asked if there was anything else I needed to do and he said no. The next morning, as I was cleaning out my emails, I found my contract that stated I needed to submit something in writing to cancel. I sent an email to the address listed on the contract reiterating the membership cancellation. The email was kicked back as undelivered. I then decided to trust the system as the employee did tell me that I didnt need to do anything else. Yesterday, 4/7/2024, I checked my bank account and noticed another payment was taken out for the gym membership. I called up there and was informed that there was a form I needed to fill out. I went to the gym a few minutes later and was told that in order to complete the form, I needed to make another payment. I informed the guy behind the desk (a different guy than before) that I already did that in February. He stated there was no notes on my account about a cancellation. I asked for the form to cancel and he said he could not give it to me without payment. I am disputing the charge with my bank and have asked them to block anymore payments.Initial Complaint

On November 13, 2023 I spoke with GM ************************* about getting an Invoice with membership details in writing. Instead, **** said that he would need a credit card on file to become a member as a crunch policy. I told **** that once I received the Invoice, he would receive a payment of 1 year in the amount of what he quoted me at $446.87. I told him that day that I would Not start the membership with the *** Crunch ID card that he gave me until a full payment was received for the membership.I had another *** membership crunch card with them for 2023 that would be covered by own insurance, so I didnt need to start the membership with ***** *** crunch card at that time. I was clear on these instructions to *************************. All Crunch locations would already be getting paid from my 2nd ID card. I NEVER used ***** *** card and **** ran that card through by the opening of that card on his own on day 1. I found out as time went by that ************************* took a $10.01 Enrollment fee from my credit card, not authorized, he also stated removing $32.24 from that credit card for the month of November 2023 and December 2023 and in January 2024 an annual fee of $49.99, not authorized by **** disputed these transactions through my credit card and received that back through no help from ****.**** received the full payment by check in the amount of $446.87 for 1 year membership also for me.This was at the same time that my health insurance was also paying crunch fitness as much as $93.00 a month. ************************* knew that crunch was receiving funds from my credit card, $93.00 a month from my health insurance AND also was being paid $446.87 for a 1 year membership. Three different sources. I called numerous times, stopped at the ****** location, sent info E-mails to them and staff and **** avoided me even when he was at work, he hid behind his office door and refused to come out. Staff was rude and ignored me when I came in to discuss this issue. I was threatened by ****** and ****, assumed managers, at that location that I was trespassing and to get out or theyd call the police if I did not leave the ****** location. I asked ****** to call the police. She did nothing. They refuse to refund the money owed back to me of $456.88 ($446.87 +$10.01). I sent a letter to a P.O.Box 3650, *******, Fla. ***** and no one responds back. The actions of ************************* are considered as Fraudulent because he is also accepting funds from my insurance as well as me. I was told never to come back to crunch at 3740 ****************** and considering that suggestion as noted, crunch fitness at ****** has terminated that membership themselves and I fully expect the full payment of $456,88 be sent back to me. I made every effort to discuss this with ************************* and he refuses even to respond to this complaint.I will not return to the *********************************************************************** location again. My resolution is to get the $456.88 returned back to me.Initial Complaint

i went to crunch in ****** with my friend, he had a day pass he said i could use. we walked in and the employee told us that the pass was invalid for some reason i asked if they offered a day pass they said "yes it's $10 for the day pass" i agreed to pay $10 for the day pass, before i payed i had to fill out a waiver, i filled it out with my information. i work at a airsoft field so i have an idea why a waiver must be filled out. i scammed through it and it didn't mention anything of signing up for a membership i finish filling it out and pay the $10 i go in and worked out for a bit. if I'm being brutally honest i didn't like the experience as much. since that day i haven't returned i start to getting emails of if i would like to " join the club and become a member" i ignore them then i start receiving phone calls from a personal trainer asking when would be a good date to have our" kick off" i state that I'm not even a member in the first place. the second time they call i ask for them to cancel that membership i never agreed to and to stop charging me because i looked at my bank statement and they have been charging me for 2 months at this point, the gentlemen on the other side of the phones says i have to come in to do that i said that's fine. today 2/2/2024 i walk into crunch and i explain the situation to an employee and ask to remove me from there roster of charges. the lady told me that i could only cancel a membership after the 90 day grace ****** and that i have to wait untill march 11th to cancel it so i let her know that i dont even go to that gym in the first place that the only time i came was for a day pass i told her she must have that logged under my profile, she said " yes i have it here but those $10 were for the kick off of your membership " i remember this employee was the one i spoke to the first day as well. i asked if i could get a copy of what i signed and she emailed it to me but with there is no signature anywhere on it just my information.
