I have an auto loan with a San Diego Branch of *************************** Officer *** ***** ******* ************************************************** ************ I used a 0% interest credit card to transfer approximately $4850 to this loan not knowing that they do not accept balance transfers from credit cards as a form of payment. That was my mistake and I understand that. However, the money has not been returned to my Discover Credit Card account even though it cleared Discover's end on May 9th. Discover is saying Lendmark should have "refused payment" but Lendmark somehow did not, and they appear to be holding the money for almost a month now. I can only guess that when this happens, Lendmark holds onto the funds to accrue interest for as long as they can on their end. I have called the above office a few times but they have been no help. I have left two voicemails with Ms. ******* with no return call.I am asking for one of the following:1. That they accept the transfer payment even though in is not their policy because they have held this money for almost a month for no reason and with no communication.2. They return the approximately $4850 plus what it would would have earned in interest, because Discover charged me a 3% fee to make the transfer.Business Response

I was approved for a $3000 loan and I accepted. I knew there was going to be interest fees, but they have almost triple the interest fees they never made that clear to me nor did I ever sign anything at least not with the payback amount because there is no way I wouldve accepted that. Is there anyway I can resolve this by just paying back what I borrowed and maybe a little interest or not at all because thats ridiculous.Business Response

Dear ***** *****,
Lendmark Financial Services, LLC (hereinafter referred to as Lendmark) is in receipt of your consumer complaint. We have had the opportunity to review the complaint and will address your concerns as follows.
You obtained a direct consumer installment loan secured by consumer goods with Lendmark on April 10, 2025, in which $ ******** was given directly to you. As fully disclosed on the Disclosure Statement, Promissory Note, and Security Agreement, (the Loan Agreement) the original amount financed was $ ******* with an interest rate of *****% for a total of payments of $7258.56 to be repaid over 48 months in $151.22 monthly payments. All loan terms were explained to you; you reviewed and executed the loan agreement, and a copy of the loan documents were provided to you.
Additionally, a precomputed installment loan account, the starting balance or the total of payments on the loan reflects both a principal and an interest component and each payment made on the loan is applied to reduce the total of payments. Further, the total amount of interest is computed at the inception of the loan and does not change, however, if paid off early interest is refunded. As of the date of this response, the payoff amount is $ ******** if paid in the next 10 days.
A copy of the promissory note, payment history, and 10-day payoff notice have been mailed to you for review.
We trust this resolves the complaint brought forth. Should you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact Lendmark Financial Services by utilizing our customer contact email address below.

LENDMARK - *********** - 03/01/2023 - $0.00 I am compelled to file a serious complaint concerning the wrongful reporting of a LENDMARK account on my Equifax credit report, recorded with a zero balance as of 03/01/2023. Despite my multiple disputes, ******* has failed to furnish any credible original documentation or validation from LENDMARK verifying the existence or accuracy of this account. Per 15 U.S.C. 1681i(a)(1)(A) of the Fair Credit Reporting Act, Equifax must conduct a reasonable reinvestigation within 30 days following a dispute. Moreover, 15 U.S.C. 1681(a)(5) requires the deletion or correction of any unverifiable or inaccurate information. ******** failure to uphold these legal requirements undermines my credit integrity and has caused unwarranted damage to my financial reputation. My repeated requests for proof of the debt, including contracts and account histories, have been ignored or met with insufficient and perfunctory responses. This disregard aligns with recent CFPB findings revealing Equifaxs ongoing practice of sham investigations that violate federal consumer protection laws. The emotional and financial impact of these unjust practices is significant and unacceptable. I hereby demand the immediate removal of this unverifiable LENDMARK account from my ******* credit report unless full, original documentation proving the accounts legitimacy is supplied promptly. Failure to do so will force me to escalate this complaint to federal regulators and pursue legal actions to protect my rights.Business Response

I had took out a loan in December of 2024 and during the process got some insurance add ons, one was involuntary unemployment coverage which if I lost my job it would make a few payments to help my until I got back on my feet. In January 2025, I lost my job due to the company downsizing and relocating. I made my January payment and February payment upfront. I asked on multiple occasions for the paper work to use the involuntary unemployment insurance and kept getting the run around. Long story short, I got two months behind on payments I told the local branch when I could pay it and also once again asked for the unemployment insurance papers and never got them. Two weeks later I was locked out of my account and couldnt make a payment to get caught up. When to the local branch and they told me they couldnt accept the payments, and I would be getting a letter in the mail. The following week I got served papers where landmark was during me for defaulting on the loan.Business Response

I had a loan with Lendmark in ********, ** that I tried to settlement with them myself. We could not come to a resolution so the loan went to a 3rd party. When the 3rd part contacted me we made a settlement agreement with Lendmark. On Fe. 14, 2024 I made my last payment on the settlement agreement. On Feb. 28, I went to the office of Lendmark in ********, ** because there was still $143 showing on my credit report. They said the settlement was not completely paid off which it had. so I called the 3rd party and found out they had not sent the necessary paperwork to Lendmark in ********, ** to show the settlement was completely paid off. So I went back to the Lendmark office in ********, ** and finally the 3rd party sent the necessary paperwork to Lendmark. There is still showing the $143 owed to Lendmark on my credit report. When I called them to ask about it I was told "Oh, there was a gliche in the system." As of this date there is still the$143 showing on my credit report from Lendmark. I would like LENDMARK to FINISH this process!!!!!!!!!!!!Business Response
