I used Installations Made Easy to tile my master bath floor and shower. The did a good job - 4 years later it looks great. However, during the same project they put new tile down on the kitchen/laundry/powder room floors. Within a month the grout on the kitchen floor began to break up. I called my sales rep who came out and they patched 10 different spots where the grout had already come out. Within another three or four months of that, there were at least another 10 grout spots broken and now I had three places where the tile was also broken. These were 12 x 24 ************* ceramic tiles. That was right at the beginning of Covid so we didnt address it just because of the world was in a weird place and having contractors in your house didnt seem like a good idea. Fast forward, three years later, there are now more than a dozen broken tiles and I would call the kitchen flooring a complete failure. Installation Made Easy admitted they used the wrong adhesive to put the tile down with the ******** DITRAmat Uncoupling Membrane and thats why it failed. But now theyre hiding behind a warranty period saying its been too long and theyre not willing to work with me to replace it. They knew and admitted within a few months of the floor being laid that the had used the wrong material, and thats why it was failing, I offered to buy the tile ($1,400) if they would pay for the other materials and labor to redo their mistake and theve gone radio silence on **** would not recommend them because they dont stand behind their work.Initial Complaint

My job was "finished" on 11/31/2022. At this time I still had 3 things that the contractor would not repair. (level the countertop, fix or replace the scratched backsplash behind stove, paint the inside of the cabinets where they ground off the paint.) These were items listed in the resolution document they said I had to sign in order for them to complete my job because I had filed a complaint. I had already had to hold my ground that they needed to list the issues that needed to be resolved for my job. I have supplied numerous photos and documentation for the issues of this job. Now they are trying to force me to sign a paper that says that I am "satisfied" and that "all the work listed above" was completed. It is not the original form, it does not have anything listed and the work on the original form has not all been completed. I paid half upfront and they have offered me $1750 off my $14,000+ job. They are refusing to give me the discount unless I sign the form as is and they are unwilling to update the form with truthful information. I can upload photos of the remaining issues if needed. I have sent them to them. I have before and after photos showing that the cabinet was level when they started. I have photos of the paint they ground off and of the scratch finish on the backsplash. They are sending me "final notice" emails but it does not have correct paperwork or the discount. They have violated the contract and are trying to make me sign something that is a lie. I have submitted signed paperwork that I wrote on. Neither the original scope of service or the current form have been uploaded to the website they provide for the job. There is a tab for signed paperwork and it is not there. I believe the original was there at one time and is now gone.Initial Complaint

The home page of ************** website advertises a discount of 5% off floor installation through partner Installation Made Easy. There are no details listed about restrictions or limitations. By following the link on their offer, I scheduled an estimate and subsequent flooring installation. When I asked about the discount, the installer (************************) said they didnt know anything about it and wouldnt honor it. They later claimed it must have automatically been applied. When I called Installation Made Easy multiple times, they didnt know about the advertised offer and said no discount had been applied. Their only explanation was that maybe the offer didnt apply to my project, but they couldnt tell me any details about limitations. Now they say that its the installer that would need to provide the discount. If theyre not going to ensure their contractors are informed and required to honor advertised discounts, they shouldnt advertise them.Initial Complaint

On Jan 12, 2023, *** ( Installation Made Easy) demo's my kitchen removing all cabinets, appliances and countertop as a subcontractor of ******. Cabinets ordered from ****** began to be installed and after three being installed it was discovered the room was mis-measured, certain cabinets were the wrong height and depth, and some cabinets were damaged. They also scratched my floors in moving some of these items. *** left and today, March 11, 2023 I still do not have a kitchen. I went back to Lowes to order proper items and then discovered there was just too much wrong, causing me to start from scratch with another remodeling firm. I asked ****** for compensation for handyman work and repair for the floors but they said that was the responsibility of ***. *** told me no compensation would be granted as they did not complete the job. This job was cancelled due to their incompetence. They literally did everything wrong. There was even a point when the ****** designer and the *** measurer were accusing each other of wrongdoing. I did nothing wrong and even went out of my way to try to make the wrong size cabinets work. I paid $1,960.61 to a handyman to adjust my soffit so the cabinets would fit. The last straw was when the cabinet for the wall oven (which was order 90" instead of 84") wasn't wide enough for the appliances. That's when I cancelled. Reimbursement for handyman work and cost to repair scratched floor $1,000.00 total $2,960.61Initial Complaint

On March 18, 2022, I purchased a Ductless System with installation from Lowes, and to date, the service has yet to be rendered. I have exhausted every effort possible in an attempt to remedy this situation. Specifically, from the purchase date, I have emails that show that the delivery and installation were scheduled for May 2022. It was canceled and rescheduled for June 13, 2022. I received confirmation from ***********************, on behalf of ************************ and *************************** from Installation Made Easy that services would be rendered on the said date, and it was not. The second date that was given was October 11, 2022, and services were not rendered on that day either. By December of 2022, I 800 ************ had been contracted, and they came on December 5, 2022, and provided a quote that was $4,500 more than the original price. ***** agreed to pay for the additional cost. The services have yet to be rendered, and no resolution has been offered.Initial Complaint

Precise Flloring LLC, on its website ******************************, states that they are a partner of Installation Made Easy. This deceiving publicity caused ** to believe that Precise Flooring was co-owned by Installation Made Easy. This caused us, among many other issues, to be scammed for approximately $500 during our tile replacement project in our condo in *****, **. We urge Installation Made Easy to address this situation so that this unethical contractor will not deceive future clients.Initial Complaint

I ordered countertops through them (which they hire their own contractor). The first time they came out after pushing the installation date back 3 weeks, they cut the sink hole wrong (part of the undermount sink hangs over on the front and right side and the back and left side the counter sticks over the sink, another countertop was cut short (the cabinet sticks out from the countertop), and none of the counters were glued down. I called ******, I called ****** installation made easy (not the same company as ****** I guess), and received no help from either. They said I had to call the countertop installers (again, I was paying ****** for this service). It took me the better part of a month to get ahold of someone at the countertop place (MJ's Countertops) and they gave me every excuse in the book. So they finally came out again (3 months after the installation date) and tried glueing down the counters again (it didn't work this time either). The installer guy said they couldn't fix the sink (which they installed) because if they ripped the glue from the sink it would break the sink which they couldn't be held responsible for. What??? The countertop that was cut short they said they'd fix but they might break the backsplash tile which again they wouldn't replace. So now ****** Installation Made Easy is threatening to put my bill into collections (I take my credit seriously) because I refuse to pay the rest of it until my issues are fixed. They tell me they can't repair the countertops because I refused service when they said they'd fix it. No I didn't! They didn't offer to repair it. They said if they break the sink and backsplash (which I bought and paid for installation of) they won't repair those things. That's not offering to fix the countertops and take ownership of their responsibility!Initial Complaint

I had a water heater installed and the product that was placed inside the household is not performing as expected. I had the same plumber come to the same household multiple times and they recommended to do to a higher product. So far it has been 6 months since this issue has been presented to the company and have not gotten any resolutionInitial Complaint

This entire installation was a nightmare that never ends. It started from day one and to this day has never ended. The started in installation on Oct 4 and is still not complete. 1.They showed up unprepared and did not cover items that should have been covered properly. It took us days to clean appliances and furniture after the demolition and sanding. We should not have had to do that. We even had to clean up debris that they left in various places. Also during the entire installation process, for the most part they only had 2 people here working and some days only one person. 2.The next incident was the delivery of the tiles and the beginning of the installation. Installer started installing the tiles and realized that the tiles were off in size. They finally realized that the lots of the tiles were different because they picked up the tiles at different stores. This held up the installation. 3.This is the most disappointing incident of the install. We had to go back to the store and pick another tile because they did not have enough tiles of the one that we had picked, so we had to go with a tile that we really did not want. Not a good way to conduct business. 4.I also had to uninstall and reinstall the dish washer, which we were not told that we would have to do. Additionally, after they installed the base molding, we inquired about who was going to paint the molding? They stated that we would have to hire someone to paint the molding. If we had known that we could have had someone on standby to paint once the molding was installed. Another thing they should have told us in the beginning. 5.Towards the end of the install I pointed out some issues concerning uneven tiles. My wife was livid because they were going to have to make a mess once again. She accepted some of the issues that I brought up, but I was still not satisfied as you can see in the pictures. To this day there are still issues. They were supposed to come back and cut the door so it would open and close without hitting the tiles. As of today the door is still leaning up against the wall as you can see in the pictures. Also I noticed in the pantry there is about gap between the tile and the molding. 6.Now this is the real kicker. When all was said and done, there were 47 boxes of tile left, and probably more than that because some were loose. So that means that we over paid for the tiles and the labor for the install. You can count the boxes in the pictures. It took them days to come pick up the tiles in our garage. So I have money being tied up because of the wrong measurements and the overcharges for the tiles and the labor. 7.It looks like I am going to have to reinstall the door myself, and now we have to hire someone to come in and paint the molding. 8.They only way for your company to make this right is to refund the money that we put down back to us and chalk this whole project a loss. 9.At least the store manager did compensate us because of the tile issues, but in order to make this right we need to be compensated. We are almost ********************************************************* a week, and as of today it is still not complete. 10.Also attached are pictures of the base molding install. You can see that there are gaps between the wall and the molding. They should have put caulking on to cover them up. 11.This seems to get worse every day. Spoke with the store today and I had questions regarding the return of the tiles that were returned. Discovered that they refunded the money back to the contractor. We paid cash for these items and the refund should have went back to the debit card that we used to pay for the merchandise. 12.There is also the issue of the labor overcharges that we paid as well. 13.Also please review the pictures of all the merchandise that was left over. As you can see that there are 6 bags of grout and 2 bags of mortar. You can look at the receipt and its not matching up. Also we returned 1 base molding which is not on the receipt as well. We did keep 2 boxes of tile and 1 bag of grout.Business Response

IME is working on sending out another provider to assess the concerns with the installation and determine what needs to be corrected. I spoke with ************** 11/29 and proposed this option, he agreed that we could send out another installer to assess. I let him know that someone would be in contact to schedule after he reviewed the photos. We are continuing to work with the customer to make sure he is satisfied with the resolution to his claims.Initial Complaint

I paid IME (Installation Made Easy) to install a new solid hardwood floor where they used a contractor ************************** During install, I pointed out the gaps & was told that this was normal gaps. When the install finished, it was late at night & the installer insisted I sign a paper, since they can't come next day for the inspection. When I reached out to the company installing, they said they can take care of everything as a warranty claim if I paid the full price of the service. When I started to file a warranty claim, their office said the floor can't be repaired as it has gaps all over the place. Since then I have filed claims with 3 companies to no avail. IME is not reachable & redirects me to contractor who redirects me to IME.Business Response

Installation Made Easy has discussed the concerns with the flooring a few times since the claim was opened. The customer was not reaching out to IME, they were reaching out to the provider directly. We received the information from Floor & Decor that the customer had concerns and promptly called the customer to discuss. I spoke with this customer today 12/6 and advised they would be commissioning an inspection to determine what the concerns are. Once they have the inspection report back they will let us know so we can review with the correct parties a resolution. I advised the customer that I would follow ** in one week to ensure that the inspection is being scheduled so we can move forward with resolving if the concerns come back as installation related.
