On 8/23/22 my credit card was used unlawfully without my consent or knowledge. I did not sell or buy anything. I have tried to rectify this for two months, but can't because they want an item number/ or order and that does not exist. I tried their phone number and you cant talk to anyone then hangs up. Appreciate your help, any questions feel free. I have screenshot on phone, do not know how to attach when using a computer.Business Response

On Tue, Sep. 27, 2022, I received notice of a Credit Request stating that I am a non-paying buyer being filed against me. The situation was worked out with the seller, making the non-paying buyer report itself invalid The seller then reversed the non-paying buyer report on 10/6/2022. GunBroker staff themselves sent me a message stating this. They have, however, failed to unlock my account even though the non-paying buyer report was withdrawn.. I am simply seeking to have my account unlocked and reinstated.Business Response

I have attached a photo of a message that I have been receiving repeatedly. The photo states The seller does not sell this item to ********. This is very rude and discriminating. There is no legality issues. If there was any legality issues would I be here filing this complaint? I have been repeatedly losing out on deals due to this message/ability to block LAWFUL users from bidding on and LAWFULLY obtaining and possessing items for sale. Clearly Gunbroker is allowing users to create blockades without knowing the full abstracts of the laws. I therefore find it unfair and rude that I am unable to bid on and purchase items for sale that I can legally own. Gunbroker policies state must be old enough and must lawfully be able to posses. I have followed this policy of Gunbrokers and it is being violated against me. Who is going to compensate me for losing out on a deal? Before restrictions can be placed, laws must be referred to. An example is item # ********* which restricts myself from purchasing. I would like this to be verified and corrected. It is not fair to myself, a law abiding citizen and compliant user of Gunbroker to go through this.Business Response

This business has terrible customer service.. I have tried to make contact with them several times with negative results. The manner they have the items listed is a trap . Once you put in a bid and its within the time frame you can not change your mind or retract your bid. The seller will not respond and then gun broker will not respond as well. This will cause you to get suspended for non payment. Then Gunbroker will *** you for non payment when as a customer you did everything you could to cancel the sale within a reasonable time. Their manner of business is very tricky and wrong. Please look in to their way if business. As a consumer one should have the right to cancel or change their mind. They dont even vent off their sellers . Practically anyone could put anything for sale on their web site without any verification from them. This business needs to be shot down.Business Response

As per our user agreement and site rules, all bidding/buying is a binding obligation to complete a transaction. You should not place a bid or buy an item until you have verified shipping costs and any questions you have regarding the item. If you are unable to complete a transaction, the seller will need to complete the credit request process to cover his fees and taxes which can lead to account suspension.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:
This has nothing to do with shipping costs. This complaint was initiated to Gunbrokers lack of response and customer service . The sellers do not respond to buyers emails. ********* doesent respond as well . As a buyer you get railroaded to the purchase with no mediation from Gunbroker. Their insurance policy covers for only 500 dollars of the sale. Therefore the buyer can get easily ripped off on a big purchase. I made several attempts to contact a seller about an item which was miss represented. The seller would not respond. I then did not purchase the item and Gunbroker suspended my account. If ********* would have reviewed all communication they should have suspended the sellers account. Either way Gunbroker can careless about the buyer. They just want to make money and anyone can post anything on their site.
Sincerely,

While reviewing your messages we see you are asking important questions about items after you have posted a bid. All bidding is a binding obligation to complete a transaction. You are encouraged to use Ask Seller a Question and clarify all terms and condition of the item before posting a bid. Your bid accepts all terms on the listing and you will not be released from a purchase if you win if you have asked after the bid was posted.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:
Once again youre dodging the real problem. If your seller is not truthful about the condition of the item selling then the seller is not obligated to purchase the item based on false advertisement. You guys dint even know if your sellers are honest about items posted therefore you can not hold an honest buyer responsible for false advertisement. At this point I believe your business is not admitting to any wrongdoing and let the ton of BBB COMPLAINTS AGAINST YOUR TWO MAN COMPANY SPEAK FOR ITS SELF. IM DONE DEALING WITH YOUR INCOMPETENT RESPONSES

I bought a pistol on the Gunbroker website in August, 2022. The pistol was not as described by the seller (they said it was in great condition) and was defective with a crooked barrel. The seller agreed to refund my money for the purchase price and shipping, but not refund the *** ******* Transfer fee that I was required to pay a local dealer, $20, to purchase the pistol.I asked Gunbroker customer service to refund that $20, due to their Seller's inaccurate description, but they said they would not either.I am asking Gunbroker to do the right thing and refund my $20 *** transfer fee due to their Seller's inaccurate description of the item. I have the receipt of the *** fee if they need that to make the refund.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: The Seller on your website gave me a FALSE Description of the pistol. I have a copy of the email in that the Seller said the pistol was in excellent condition....when in fact it had a crooked barrel on it!! Do the right thing and refund the Dealer Transfer Fee of $25! Or as a credit on your website if you prefer that. Thank You

I have a business account with GunBroker.com and have had issues in the past where I needed to contact them for assistance. The most recent one is the 3rd time I have made the attempt. They have no way to contact them except through email, which they NEVER appear to answer. This attempt was made because I received emails that my email address had changed, which was not done by me. I contacted them as I was unable to login to my account to inform them I believe it was hacked. 24 hours has gone by, and I have sent 5 emails as this is obviously an important attempt on my part to notify them that I am still receiving emails that this entity is attempting to do business using my account. Since my account was hacked I can only surmise that this will be for fraudulent purposes. I would think they would take this seriously but they do not apparently. The only other option is to pay $50 per year so I can have a chat session with them about dealer issues, which is a ridiculous business model, and judging by other complaints and reviews I see I am not the only one experiencing poor customer / dealer support on GunBroker's part.Business Response

We have attemted 2 calls and have sent out an email in an attempt to fix the issue.
Customer Answer

I have received 1 phone calls from them, however they only left a *** In that VM they said they have no callback number but would call again and so far have not. The 2 emails they sent I am assuming that they are referring to were simply emails asking for a survey of how they have handled my earlier emails before contacting the BBB. Which, thus far they have not.
With no callback number, not responding to emails, how exactly do they expect customers, and businesses to communicate with them, except on their own terms.
I do have to say that I have read a lot of previous complaints, and I would be surprised to find that you did not agree that this seems to be a very common tactic they employ to make it seem as though they are being compliant.
The number they called from came for a listing as Private Number, and corresponds to the time / date stamp of the *** However, there was NO 2nd call as they eluded to you.
I would appreciate another call and a little patience on their part in the event someone cannot answer. This is NOT the way to do business.
Without emails they respond to in a timely manner, and a callback number (I have NEVER heard of a business without a callback number of some kind), how do they expect to resolve these complaints? Or is it possible that this is on purpose because they already do thousands of dollars in business so they can not be too concerned about a few individuals?

GunBroker.com is an online marketplace for gun enthusiasts. The site connects buyers and sellers, with many contacts happening though online auctions of firearms and accessories.I recently won an auction for a firearm but was not able to complete the transaction. The results of the firearm auction is available at https://www.gunbroker.com/item/941557942 .I contacted the seller and asked to be released from the contract. The seller agreed to release me from the contract. The seller did not ship the firearm to me. I made the seller whole again by paying the seller's costs and fees associated with the auction. I also sent extra money to compensate the seller for his troubles. In legal terms, the contract was rescinded through mutual consent, and the seller was returned to status quo ante.Today I learned GunBroker.com suspended my account for non-payment stemming from this incident. My account cannot be in non-payment status because there's NO payment due. The contract was terminated consensually by the seller and the buyer. Additionally, any fees owed to GunBroker.com was paid by me. The seller did not have to pay them. Both the seller and GunBroker were restored. Everyone got paid.I wrote to GunBroker.com and stated the same to the staff. I also included the email exchange between myself and the seller. Finally, I provided the tracking number for the payment sent to the seller.GunBroker ignored my communication. My account is still suspended.I am unable to manage my account because of the suspension. I am in the middle of about 5 additional purchases. The purchases have been made but I cannot manage them without access to my account.Initial Complaint
