Called them in April of last year to cancel my service as i was moving out in June. Everything seemed fine. Then i move out and 6 months later they bill me when i don't even live at the place. I call and they claim i never called them and since I didn't (I did) they are going to charge me anyways. Now they are forcing my hand with collections for trash service i didn't even use because i didnt live there. Typical for a trash company to be scummy, but they're extra scummy. April, 2024 I requested to cancel my service with what was American Disposal. They were days late with their service week after week, if they bothered to pick up our trash at all, yet we were paying more than other trash collection companies. I attempted to speak with them on the phone about the cancelation since I found another trash company, but after being on hold for over 30 minutes without anyone picking up, I went to their website. Under "contact us" I clicked on their customer service "chat." When I said I wanted to discontinue their services, the prompt was that I needed to "call them." I was again on hold for over 30 minutes with no answer. I went to ******** and tagged them in a complaint hoping for response. I got none. They sent a bill in the mail to me. I sent the bill back to them with a note on it saying that I was not renewing their services and to please let me know when they would pick up their bin. Then I got another notice that I had a payment due. I again called them and was on the phone for over 30 minutes without an answer. Several days later I again attempted to reach them by phone, to no avail. Now they are sending me emails saying they are sending my account to collections and an attorney. Even though I keep responding to them with proof that I requested cancelation in April, they say they don't see record of it. I can't help it if they don't do their job, I have proof that I did request cancelation in April of 2024. I also have proof that another company has been picking up my trash the last few months. Their trashcan has been sitting empty at the bottom of my driveway waiting for them to pick it up. I also posted a review (can't remember if it was ****** or Yelp) with the hope that they would respond to me in regards to my cancelation. They missed a scheduled trash pick-up Waste Connections says they pick up between 7 am and 7 pm I had my trash out by 7 when I called they said the truck was early (6:30 am) and I would have to wait until next week they are refusing service because they were early, not because I was late this is like going to a doctor's appointment at 2 pm and they refuse to honor your appointment because they called your name at 1:30 pm and you have to reschedule but they are still charging you for the cost of the appointmentInitial Complaint

This new company's service has been horrible from the start. They picked up my trash then all of a sudden they stopped picking up my trash two weeks in a row. I called and the rep told me that they will be out to pick up my trash on the next service day. During the afternoon of the next service day, I noticed that my trash was not picked up so I contacted them. The rep told me that they were running behind and they are on their way. My trash was never picked up on the service day. I called the next day and a rep told me that they will pick up my trash that day or the next day (Saturday). While sitting at my desk on the next day, I noticed that a trash pickup man came to my house, opened the lid of one of the trash bins, shook his head and then walked away from the trash bin. They picked up the neighbor's trash whom they missed as well on the the scheduled service day. I left my trash out for the next day based on the rep's instructions after calling in to report what I saw the trashman do. The next day came and went and I still have two trash bins full of trash bags with overflow because my trash has not been picked up for the past three weeks. I noticed that several houses in my subdivision are being missed. This company uses the excuse that the drivers are new and are learning the route. I live in a subdivision therefore it should not be hard to determine that trash needs to be picked up from every house unless a household's bill is overdue or not paid. Several neighbors in my subdivision are experiencing missed pickups and have made several calls to resolve the issue with no luck. Something has to be done.Initial Complaint

This waste management company bought the company we used last month. They have picked trash up once in the last 3 weeks. After reading many reviews this seems to be a major problem for them. They keep giving us pick up dates and never coming. This is happening to our entire neighborhood!! Our street is constantly over run with smelly garbage in 100 degree georgia weather. They will not refund any money to anybody(we pay 2 months at a time) I believe this business to be actively taking customer money with no service/ product in return. This company has failed to pick up garbage at their scheduled time again and again without notice or warning over the last year. They make promises and set appointments and fail to meet them. Even now I cannot get them to collect their bins after canceling my service with them. They have made two appointments with me and cancelled the day before with no notice, leaving my bins in the street. They offer no recourse and I cannot reach management. We were customers of American Disposal which became Waste Connections at some point. We have been paying them quarterly for service, but the service has gone downhill. They consistently have delayed pickups and then they replaced our normal trashcan with one that was in horrible shape and smelled bad. They said they would swap it out a month ago with a better one and that never happened.We now just want to close the account, but they won't answer their phone nor will they respond to emails. Today I tried through their 800 number and I waited 26 minutes and no one picked up. I just want our service cancelled. I pay for quarterly waste and recycling pickup. Since the merge with Waste Connections trash and recycling are routinely not picked up on time or completely missed. It has been 30 weeks of this nonsense. There is no excuse to not to provide the services that we are paying for.Initial Complaint

I filed this complaint with the BBB against ***************** Services of ******* (who Waste Connections acquired) on 3/23/24 but I never received a response from the business."I am filing this complaint on behalf of The Arbors at ****************** *********************** against ***************** Services of Georgia for their failure to provide solid waste removal services as contractually required. They failed to show up for their scheduled pickups at least 30 times starting with the first 6 appointments until as recently as last week (none were inclement weather days or anything beyond their control). We called and emailed them on countless occasions to report these incidents as this issue kept reoccurring (they never proactively communicated any delays with us). Once after we contacted them multiple times, we finally found out that the reason they stopped picking up our recycling was because they discontinued recycling service with no advance notice, so they left us high and dry.We wrote ***************** about their unacceptable performance and requested termination of our agreement due to cause. Their response was basically that they had cured their breach of contract by picking up at later dates to make up for their misses, and they would be charging us liquidated damages to terminate early.Providing service on another scheduled day that we paid for and receiving less pickups during these weeks than was contractually agreed upon doesnt cure the problems that their breach created. It has caused us additional damages of having to hire other companies to remove trash on the ground that resulted from the dumpsters overflowing due to their missed pickups. This pattern has also been an eyesore to the community, has a negative effect on property values, attracts wildlife, and is a potential health hazard.We have been victimized by *****************s unfair and abusive business practices. We are seeking a prompt penalty-free termination of our contract."
