      Went to work for a new Company in June, HCLTech. Part of the package offered was a 401(k) controlled under Principal Fin Grp. Yesterday, as I was trying to contact them by phone about my account, a "bot" explained that I could either wait for approximately 23 more minutes or receive a call back. I chose the latter. The call never came. I still don't have access to my 401(k).(There should always be a "zero stars" option on reviews).

      I have tried to have the company rollover a retirement account since November and sent via mail, fax and email all the necessary paperwork, I receive a email saying they are working on it then a few days later I receive an email saying Principal is trying to get in contact with me. The four times I have been BLESSED to speak to someone each time they representative voices that all the necessary paperwork is filed, and it is in the process. I have yet to see it and still am told. Now when I call, I get placed on hold and twice been disconnected or again told the paperwork "Appears to all be in order." I am so very frustrated with this company and the lack of professionalism. ****************

      Unfortunately my employer uses Principal for our 401(k). The sparse selection of mutual funds all have high expense ratios - the best options are Principal's own funds which basically just track the indexes. Principal, of course, charges a higher expense ratio compared to Vanguard, et al. for the same fund. Apart from that Principal can't even get the basics of their website right. I use ****** to manage most of my portfolio and it fails 50% of the time to pull the numbers in from Principal because their site is down for whatever reason. I will be moving my funds out of Principal at the earliest opportunity.

      Terrible customer service, incorrect information listed on sight for vesting schedule, take forever to resolve conflict on account

      Absolutely the worst company ever if you dont want to know anything about your money or if you dont want your money go with this company they will never answer your questions and they just give you the run around the worst customer service I have ever experienced this company loves to hold your money for as long as legally possible if you have options Id stay away from principle financial

      This is the worste company I have every dealt with for dental insurance. The way they blatantly deny claims without justification is like something you see in a movie. I would say they deny 80% of our claims, we will be dropping this insurance company from our network because they arent worth the hassles.

      Terrible customer service and wait really long wait times. Employees seem to not want to do their job and constantly transfer calls to avoid handling customer calls.

      They have taken almost a month to give me back my money. Then they claim that I need to contact my previous employer to get it withdrawn. Why is it this difficult to get my money.

      I think one star is to high. They deserve no stars. We sent in paperwork for a hardship withdrawal (pay or quit notice) and they said it world take **** days. What kind of pay or quit notice do you know that gives you that long. They want their money now!!! I called to check the status on the last day and still nothing. OF COURSE the next day, the day after the due date they want to process my application. Now the pay or quit notice has expired and I need to provide a new one. HOW?!?!?? When I called to get answers they gave me some bull**** explanation about their process. How they are backed up with hundreds of applications now. Basically telling me that I'm s*** out of luck because they took to long to process my paperwork when I submitted everything in a timely manner. And after reading all the other complaints here, it seems to me like they don't want to give people their own money. I wouldn't be surprised of they get sued in the future.

      This is far by the most worst company that I've ever seen or heard of why should I have to fight just to get my own money back and yet you're steady drawing interest off of it??
