      One of the absolute most difficult financial services provider I have ever had to deal with. I lost my job and it is taking over a month for them to get MY money to them. They made a clerical error and now Im going to be behind on bills. I will be subjected to penalties and fees because of their incompetence and disregard for the way this binds people up. Its messing with my life. I hope I never have to deal with this company again.

      I have 13 bulging discs, spinal stenosis, sciatica, degenerative discs and arthritis all shown on MRI and 2 years of pain and suffering Ive went through. The moment I start using **** Frequencies and Binaural Beats alternative healing Principal said I no longer have a problem and stop my benefits for trying to heal myself in ways that do not benefit the financial interests of the medical industry. They called me and told me they were going to call a supervisor from the government and tell them they had an emergency after I said I was doing sound therapy and they did because Ive been poisoned twice now. This company is corrupt and has truly evil and vile people working there and does not care to actually help people that need it. All they care about is their money and profits. No consideration for anyone going through a difficult time. Principal Financial Group ruined my life and now I can barely survive since wrongfully cancelling my benefits. Principal, you should be ashamed of yourselves.

      I have spoken to five different people and explained my situation to each **** person, been out on hold four separate times for a total of over 30 minutes, not one employee was able to articulate how to help me or understand my problem. Finally got a hold of a manager and repeated all of this ******** yet again. IM NOT EVEN GOING TO GET INTO EVERYTHING ELSE. my hands are tired just typing this ****.If you want to work with a bunch of people with a box of rocks for brains and no knowledge of what the h*** they are doing GO FOR IT.

      Been trying to take a loan from my 401k for 2 months. Their representatives and their lack of knowledge on how accounts work is disturbing. I feel like it would be easier to find a different company and just do a roll over. I don't recommend signing up for 401k if this is the company your job uses.

      I tried to initiate a rollover of my 401(k) account funds, which needs a rollover distribution check and IRS letter of determination signed by the Principal . I contacted Principal to request this letter, and although the customer service representative assured me that it would be sent, it has not been received. Consequently, I am unable to proceed with the rollover of my 401(k) check. This experience has been quite disappointing.

      I have been trying to het money from my 401k for almost a month now. I have sent in everything they have requested, and they are still requesting the same information over and over again due to them not reading the information correctly. Hold times are horrible. Trying to talk to someone is like pulling teeth. This is ridiculous.

      I can completely relate with every complaint listed! The lack of service, lack of professionalism, lack of empathy, just the LACK THEREOF are incomprehensible. I found myself needing a relatively small hardship in these rough economic times and I literally was treated as if I asked the associates for their money! As a result I completely suspended my contributions!

      This company is very clearly trying to make it difficult for people to access their money. I do not understand how you can advise people to upload documents to prevent eviction then not even address the matter within the timeframe given. This is not right this is bad faith this is unsavory business practices and just plain unethical. The turn around time for a response is unacceptable & always at the end of the business day like they are trying to ensure you dont have enough time to the see the message and respond and actually speak to someone. I would give zero stars if I could

      This company is a complete fraud. I have contracted them regarding a my 401k for a hardship.Good luck if you are ever trying to take money out of 401k they make it impossible for you to take one dime out of this company. I have spoke with 5 representatives, they act like they are working on you account and all they do is lie about the status. I just got off the phone with them and now they are telling me they account has a black out period from 23 of August- August 31st. Now I have to contact someone else regarding my money in 401k. I hope someone investigate this fraud company soon. If you ever see Principal as your 401k Financial group RUN and never look back.They are a bunch of frauds.

      I have been trying to collect a 401k payment from principal financial for over a month now. They were supposed to send a direct deposit somehow they got the bank info wrong. They also sent it to the wrong address. When given the correct address its been over 2 weeks and still nothing. I told them I wanted another direct deposit attempt one person told me they could but it would have to be after the first check wasnt received after 10 days I called back on the 10th day and they said they couldnt do a direct deposit that it would have to be another mailed check. Ive been attempting to collect this check for over a month now.
