      ******. ******** location especially. I banked there for almost 2 decades. Twice did they sign my checking account up for overdraft protection without my permission. I ended up w hundreds in fees both times, fees they couldn't cancel and couldn't tell me who authorized the change. I had an auto loan with them and lost my job. I immediately got a new one but let the insurance lap. The next month my payment went up $150. I asked the teller why, was told about the insurance lap and was told that they are now insuring it at this cost. What they didn't say, is that if I continued to pay their "insurance" after 6 months they tacked on $2500 to my loan. I complained to corporate and got no where. She asked why I couldn't afford insurance and laughed at me when I said I was poor between jobs. Yeah, that was embarassing. I cut out all my accounts after repaying the loan on time w every payment. However, I still have to do business in here for other people, and I have had to walk out of their location without being served from the deplorable service they provide. Often there will be a fat line of customers and ONE TELLER. That one teller has to do the sit down business/account management as well since there's absolutely no one on hand to help. I walked out this morning for this very issue. 3rd time in about a year. Couple this with their cost cutting hours (hope you don't need to bank after 5pm!), and you have the worst bank (and more specifically, this location) this town has to offer!

      I have used greenstate for many years. Have had multiple loans with them. Interest rates were always comparable or better to others. Only downside is we dont have a branch near us to use on a regular basis, so we just had a savings account in order to do business. Our last loan was paid in full end of November 2023. In May of ************************************************************************************ a deposit to stop that from happening. The same week I received the letter we had went through a flood and had 7 feet of water in our home. Lost almost everything. When I called the bank I explained to the representative that I had far more important things to deal with right now then driving 30min to a bank to make a deposit could you please help me and not close my account. Was told not a problem. Time went by and I forgot about it, and later realized I hadnt received a statement in awhile. When I went to the bank they said I had surrendered my account and it had been sent to great Iowa treasure ****. Very disappointed, guess I wont be doing business with greenstate anymore.

      My brother passed away and I was wanting to pay his bills as they came in. ******* one of your bankers told me to call the utilities and explain the situation to them but as far as his mortgage, with a different bank, dont worry about it, its not like it is going to ruin his credit. I found that to be very disrespectful in my time of grief.

      We were still in recovery mode after covid. Relied on high interest debt but working with our agent **** ******* with greenstate he was able to give us a loan to accommodate our needs.This will help us live within our means and so thankful to be able to retire and still live comfortably.       I would not recommend Green ***** for a home loan. I'm not sure Green ***** is even interested in Iowans. Shortly after we got a home loan, Green ***** sold the mortgage to a bank in ********. Then, that bank sold it to another who in turn sold it to a mortgage company in *******. Now the mortgage company in ******* claims the escrow account is some $1,100 short. How can that be, they just got the mortgage and the previous bank made no mention of a shortage. If I want to walk into the office and talk to someone, I should drive to *******? Thank you very much Green *****...

      Every turn of the wheel nearly every month Green ***** messes up with my auto loan and NEVER rectifies the problem. Just blows some lame excuses every time. I WOULD NOT EVER RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY.

      My boyfriend had a car loan through them and even though he had car insurance they still charged him their insurance. Even when the car has been totaled for a few years now they are still charging him insurance on a closed account. Do not trust this credit union!! They will destroy your credit and make you pay for something you already have.

To clarify, GreenState Credit Union is required to be listed as the lienholder and loss payee on all vehicle loans to ensure the collateral is adequately protected. We make multiple attempts to contact members through various means when our records do not show adequate insurance coverage. In situations where Collateral Protection Insurance (CPI) is added to a loan due to a lack of proof of insurance, we are always willing to review any additional information provided by the member. If it is proven that there was valid insurance coverage during the period in question, a refund of the CPI charges is issued. We take your feedback seriously and would like to look into this matter further to resolve any issues with the account in question.       Do not work with this org!!I've had hundreds of thousands in deposits with this institution and 6 vehicle loans over the life of my membership. They do not care about your loyalty or business AT ALL.They took money from my account to cover my estranged ex's delinquent loan. They gave me no notice of this until the day of, and already were processing the transaction. Shady and poor business practices.

      Changed online payment availability with no notice and proceeded to charge me monthly late fees, even when my payments were on time. Now I'm being charged TWO late fees on an account that is up to date! Plus, I noticed they tried to take an extra payment on my vehicle loan from an external account I do NOT make transfers from. The extra "payment" was returned and is now accumulating return fees. Unacceptable and manipulative banking practices. NEVER trust a Midwest credit union!!!
