They are money hungry and will s**** you over. When you turn your vehicle off it can still ask for a sample. Makes no sense and causes a lockout which cost you more money. Thats all they want. The when you try and call to figure whats going on no one speaks English or understands anything. They are useless. It's all designed to get more money out of someone.

Serious concerns about my experience with Intoxalock and the ignition interlock device (IID) installed on my vehicle on April 23, 2025. Since installation, Ive faced repeated technical issues and inconsistent, often unhelpful customer service. The installation took two days instead of one, and it took me over an hour to provide a valid breath sample despite following instructions. Multiple **** gave conflicting advice, including suggestions to alter my blow pattern or avoid driving. I even completed a pulmonary function test, which confirmed I have no breathing issues. The only pattern that works for meexhale 3 seconds, inhale 2 seconds, exhale 68 secondsis unreliable and leaves me short of breath. Before a trip out of state for a family emergency, I attempted to recalibrate early to avoid a lockout. I was told I couldnt calibrate more than 10 days early and would be granted a 2-hour extension upon return. However, when I called back, I was denied the extension, advised to disconnect my battery (which Im not equipped to do), and ultimately told to pay for a tow. When I became frustrated, the representative hung up on me.After recalibration, a rolling retest failed to register my breath, causing another lockout. I was stranded in 90-degree heat. The first rep said they couldnt unlock it remotely due to poor signal and asked me to call back. The next said I wasnt locked out at all. Eventually, I was told the device may be faulty. After 30 minutes of trying, I finally passed a test and got to a service center.I understand this device is required due to my DUI conviction, but Ive experienced nothing but stress and misinformation. I ask that Intoxalock review these issues and improve support for users trying to comply with their obligations.

The salesman, ****, was great. After having to call back about the appointment to get a device installed though...I will not be using this company. Unprofessional, dishonest, and not useful at all. One employee asked what I was calling about, put me on hold, and never returned. Today alone I have 6 calls with Intoxalock (Consumer Safety Technology, LLC) and no solutions. Id rather have a heart attack right now than work with Intoxalock (Consumer Safety Technology, LLC). They are trying to force me to sign a contract full of hidden fees and conditions not mentioned during the detailed conversations I had with their employees. The lease contains addendums that were omitted during discussions and a clause that says they can modify the lease at any time without informing the consumer. Why would I sign this? I did not sign the lease. I also don't have a device installed yet new fees are appearing. Although I have been in contact with multiple agents from Intoxalock (Consumer Safety Technology, LLC), nothing has been done to fix this situation.

*** had worst time with this companys interlock device services and customer service. The customer service is based in ***** and *** had miscomunications and they've set up my service times wrong. On top of that *** had the device 6 months longer then i should have bc of lockouts while it was in vehicle matenance mode. Even while its in vehicle matenance mode the shop people can let it get set off for and make u take it bac to shop to be recalibrated, "which is hour away for me". Simce my cas been under matenance for so long "6 months" ive racked up about $1200 dollars of monthly fees, towing fees, and matenace fees for the device. And thats just excess money i shouldnt have had to spend on top of the times i was using it torward the program. So for the time money and energy ive spent on this i belive they deserve to be shut down or at least 1 star. All of thier bussinesses deserve 1 star

I would not recommend using Intoxalock to anyone. Only had them for 4 months and had soo many issues including billing. They will drain your account with all types of fees ect. *** had Smartstart on my other vehicle for 13 years without any issues. Just wanted to try a different interlock device and that was a huge mistake trying Intoxalock. They charged almost $1000 for removal of the device. Also any time need to contact them there is always a language barrier which makes it much worse. I DO NOT advise anyone using Intoxalock unless your prepared to pay a arm and a leg.

I dont even know where to start. Ill just highlight the most egregious episodes of my 11 month relationship with Intoxalock. January 2025 my unit indicated that I was due for calibration. The date in my account was January 7th. However the unit was indicating January 5th. I called Intoxalock and asked them what I should do. I was told to not pay attention to the unit but to follow the information in my account. Well, January 5th I was locked out due to a missed calibration. I spent 2 days on the phone with Intoxalock while they accused me of blowing a bad sample. They wouldnt listen to me that blowing into the unit wasnt even an option because I was locked out because of the missed calibration date. I finally got an agent who asked me to read her the serial number from my unit. ********************** had the incorrect serial number recorded in my account. After 2 days they finally had my car towed to my service center. I lost pay due to the amount of time I had to spend dealing with these inept people and because I had no transportation. Fast forward to 2 weeks ago. My diversion period is almost up. I have successfully completed the program. All I need now is a 90 day no violation report. Imagine my frustration when it was DENIED. Why? Because in January 2025, through no fault of my own, a calibration date was missed. 6 MONTHS AGO. It is documented in my account that it was *********************** mistake. I was told my request is being resubmitted for review. 6 days Ive been waiting. This company is going cause me to miss my court completion documentation so I can put this chapter of my life behind me. The amount of stress and expense these people have caused me is immense. I continue to participate in group therapy because I find value in the program and every week I tell participants who are still in the diversion program to run from Intoxalock. Last week alone I cost them 5 more potential clients and I will continue to do so.
