Safeway Delivery *****. They cancelled the first. The 2nd, we ordered instacart. These are ingredients for a diabetic son in ********, ill but with chicken broth he could make a simple soup. they delivered ingredients, but no chicken broth. He's too shaky to make the chicken, and the soup was needed. Their Chat system does not work. The one star is because they did have a senior phone - and I called for replacement. They agreed to replace, but then they went back to me 3 hours later and asked if i just wanted a refund, which would leave him nothing to eat.We also bought small avocados in a bag - normally these are ripe or close. They substituted with large avocados in a larger quantity for twice the price, and under/over to be eaten - so he can't eat them. I would have preferred they cancell.I think Safeway - as bad as they are, are about to get worse if ****** takes over.

Since the pandemic, Safeway prices have Soared way above other grocery stores. Being on a fixed income makes most of us have to go without necessities so we can afford food. I have seen cat food go up 43 cents per can, toilet paper is ridiculous at 16 dollars. Bread, eggs and milk can cost 10 dollars easy. Safeway has been convenient, however the little things add up. Take the packaged meats. The sale price looks fair until you take the soaked with blood tissue baggie underneath. I've weighed extra ounces and even pounds. I've also been overcharged many times and go get my paper/change back. It's just too much for those of us on fixed income

We do not live in ****** or any other thrird world country. if you advertise a sale you SHOULD advertise a price. I believe the BBB has the same sentiment. The food stores "I shop at" advertise their SALE'S PRICE.

A Safeway in ****, ****** is constantly overcharging at the checks stand. Today I bought two items marked ***** on the shelf but ***** on the product. They refused to honor the ***** price. The manager argued that they charge the scanned price not the marked price. She even talked to the employee that marked them ***** and still would not honor the price. The *************** requires that they honor the price marked. I have come to just hate this store. Some employees are so rude. I have changed to a new store most of the time because of terrible overcharging and poor customer service at **********************. **************** is in the toilet most places these days.

I got gas today at Safeway, Dover ** The sign on the door at the small gas station building that they lack staff so it was closed! Therefore.........~ I could not get a receipt, of course the pump was out of receipt paper, I could not get a receipt or lottery ticked as I wanted, that small store was closed. ~ In the container where they should have the window washer fluid and cleaning tool, they are all filled with trash or are bone dry ~Many pumps were closed ~Trash around the area and the asphalt s looking rough ~Basically the area looking like a post apocalyptic zone. Gas price was NOT updated, I did not notice till it was too late, you have it set at $3.66/gal, others are at $3.59. So I lost money there, which I do not appreciate, thanks to the place being so neglected, lack of care about customers. I thought at the very least since it was open, that your computer system would automatically update gas prices, too much to ask I guess. Sorry you have no help, but the whole situation reflects VERY POORLY on Safeway, and I will not be returning, Safeway obviously cannot be trusted. Maybe you should just CLOSE the entire gas area to spare customers from paying hard earned money to be overcharged for gas and have a very SAD and negative experience RESOLUTION: SHOW SOME PRIDE! Show that you CARE about your business and customers: clean up, update prices, and if you can't, then just don't open up at all, if you can't keep staff

      * Warning disturbing video * I recently started shopping groceries at this place and I noticed that some products are on the shelves with expiration dates from one day before. I saw that with bread and eggs. I thought it was a couple mistakes by the store team. However, on August 27th I bought three filets of what was advertised as "fresh," everything else was "prefrozen." Today I was ready to prepare dinner and when I open the package I saw something moving. The fish had worms. I immediately took it back but it took 10 minutes for someone to noticed me and then another 10 for someone to help me. I was calm but the attitude of the person that came to help me made me mad. Is as if we are no allowed to bother them. Once she saw the warms she change the attitude but it was too late. This place should be named Unsafeway. I apologize for posting this video because is disgusting but I don't want anyone else to have this on their kitchen. I ask anyone buying food here to verify expiration dates because it seems to me that Unsafeway is cutting corners at out expense.

I made a grocery purchase of $106.91 on the Safeway App July 30th, It was my very first time using it and I communicated from the beginning with Safeway agents through the chat how I wasnt provided vital information on my delivery, I didnt know which store my food was coming from, I wasnt given a name of the driver, a description of the vehicle or a license plate number. I waited outside in the heat for over an hour and a half for a driver that didnt show. He did not follow instructions on calling me upon arrival. I went through three different agents in the chat the first day, found out August 2nd my refund hadnt been started yet, got a confirmation number ******** for my refund from agent Ryann, and now ten days later still no refund. I was promised yesterday by agent ****** that Today is the 7th business days. Let's wait the entire day we are going to get the refund Who is we? Ive been waiting for MY money for two weeks!

Safeway in ***** ****** is horrible about honoring their price as marked on the shelf. The shelf will say one price and the app price say one thing but the register rings it up higher. The employees are horrible when confronted with the problem. When the price rings up the customer is entitled to the item for free and all subsequent items at the correct price. WHY on earth is this such a problem. In the last 6 months this has happed to me 7 times but the employees never give the item for free. I'm tired to Safeway using sneaky pricing techniques. One week a bag of almonds is regally $9.99 but the very next week sale sign says regularly $11.99 on sale for $9.99. I live in a very small town with limited options for grocery shopping but I will be taking my business else where or driving 1.5 hours up the road to a different store.

I have been a Safeway FreshPass member since November 2021, which cost me $99/annually. YET, I continue to receive the LOWEST and most APPALLING standards of service. April, 2022 - I discovered that the $5 monthly credit that I am entitled to, by being a FreshPass member, was NOT being credited to my account properly. It took NINE DAYS to resolve this matter, after I was forced to email the Director of **************** at Albertsons/********************** and the *** and Chief ***************************** Companies.July 22, 2022 - I placed an order for over $125 at approximately 7:30AM PST and was promised delivery between 5-9PM PST. At 3:08PM PST, I received an email from Safeway that my order had been shopped and was on time for the promised delivery time. By 8:55PM PST, I contacted Safeway's customer service to inquire as to WHERE WAS MY ORDER!!! After over ONE HOUR (on Chat as well as over the phone), NO ONE could explain to me 1) where my order was, 2) when I could expect my order or 3) how Safeway would satisfactorily resolve their failure to provide the service that they had been paid to provide. Today is Sunday, July 24th and I was awoken with a notification from my credit card provider that the charge of $126.21 had been processed through my account for an order that I NEVER RECEIVED and had notified Safeway of that very fact!!! So, no problems with their payment/billing department taking consumers money, but HUGE problems with their employees getting out PAID FOR products to those consumers!!!!! I encourage and URGE anyone who is having issue with Safeway and/or Albertsons to:1) CONTACT:***************************, CEO ***********************, *** and COO 2) Formally document complaints with regard to your experience(s) with either of these grocery stores over email, as your proof Let's make Safeway/Albertsons DO BETTER by consumers, ESPECIALLY during this economically stressful time when people are struggling to survive!
