Does not communicate well with homeowners. We dealt with many individuals with company and get different answers from everyone when asked same questions. Unreliable and always changing dates. Not upfront with costs until after you sign and then its too late and have lots of evtea costs not anticipating. I wish we never signed with this company. Worst experience ever.

The entire process was smooth, professional, and stayed right on schedule.*******, our *********, did incredible work. His craftsmanship and attention to detail really brought everything together beautifully. ***, our project manager, was fantastic at keeping everything running seamlessly. He was always communicative and made sure we were in the loop every step of the way.The whole team was timely, professional, and clearly committed to delivering a high-quality result. 3 starsOur experience began on a positive note with *****, the sales representative. ***** went above and beyond in helping us understand the process and provided a thorough explanation of what we could expect. His dedication and commitment left us feeling confident in our decision to go with *************************** was a meeting with *****, he advised us that our chosen painters might not deliver satisfactory results and that the basement would not be mudded or primed by Matrix. He pressured us to decide on using Matrixs painters immediately, leaving us no time to confirm with our painters. As the project progressed, we discovered that the walls were indeed primed and mudded. This miscommunication could have cost us DOUBLE the amount our painters would have charged.***, the site manager, was scarcely present during the project. We saw him only 3x, and each time coinciding with city inspectors. *** was always "too busy" to address our concerns. We raised issues regarding the electrician and their painters, but our comments were dismissed. He preferred that we resolve issues directly with the subcontractors rather than involve him in any change requests.When there were issues, we would text and email both ****** (project **************** sometimes with no response. We had to keep following up with them. If a subcontractor didnt show up, they wouldnt even know until we informed them. The lack of attention to detail from Matrix was evident. They did not oversee the work of their subcontractors, leaving us responsible for monitoring the project and addressing any issues ourselves. Our expectation that Matrix would manage the project comprehensively was not met.We would not choose Matrix again for any future projects. The additional cost we paid, under the belief that Matrix would provide a turnkey solution, was unjustified. Overall Im happy with the project and how it turned out. I loved the design process from layout and picking the finishes as it helped take decisions off my plate.The system they use to document scope, timeline and budget was helpful.The contractors for each of the areas were great to work with. I felt all of them cared for my basement as if it was their own. This to me was the difference maker. Things came up and they communicated and we worked it out.Finally our GC was good when I was working with him. He advised me when I needed it and I felt like he looked out for my best interest. Only issue - hes on a lot of jobs - I think they need to figure that part out so he can spend more time with clients as hes extremely knowledgeable.Matrix Basement Finishing
