I have cancelled my service multiple times. The company has a record of me cancelling my services in January 2023, and yet I keep getting billed. When I call into the company and speak to a representative they assure me the account is cancelled....Each time I've called I get promised this will be the last time I have to call.....I just want this company to come pick up their bins and stop billing me.......Business Response

Concerning our account **********, location #********** ************************************************************** ***********. This location is still open but is not staffed/opened to public since 02/01/2022.We have gotten invoiced for February 2022 to January 2023 for service not being provided. We only learned of these charges in October 2022, upon receiving collection notification from A.R.M dated 10/4/22, 8 months later, as we have not received any invoices or any past due notices previously. I had called customer service 10/12/22 was told by ********************** customer service rep, that this was not our account and they would contact A.R.M.. We receive another A.R.M. collection notice dated 10/18/22. I called Stericycle again on 10/28/22, waited 30 minutes online,spoke Stericycle customer service rep, we discovered this was MSC account but at our branch office. I requested to cancel service effective immediately and received #********, also requested copies of all invoices and received #********. Service not cancelled and never received copies of invoices. On one of these calls, we did get the billing address changed to our HQ location, ********************************************************************, which we do have another Stericycle account **********, which we are utilizing the bin for shredding. Please note that account is being paid, which shows are commitment to our vendors, i.e., Stericycle, to pay in a timely manner. I called Stericycle again in January 2023 and message stated to call back not taking calls. We have been diligently trying to resolve this account without success. On 2/17/23 I spoke with *********, Account Specialist, and believe we have cancelled the account again, received #*******. I also requested pickup of bin and was told I would receive email in ***** days to schedule pickup. Called today, 2/24, had to cancel account/service again #********, they had pick scheduled for March and would have charged us and probably still will! Cannot get acct closed and paid.Business Response

I had trouble with the email. Anyway, the company we are having a problem with is Stericycle/Shred-it. Our account number with them is ********** for the ********* ***************** here in ********************. I received a call from Stericycle (Shred Its) collections department stating our business had and outstanding balance. I looked into the matter on our side the morning of 2/13/2023 and show that we cut a check to them for the amount in question on 1/19/2023 and it was processed and endorsed by Stericycle and I provided the banking information as well showing the check cleared our bank on 1/24/2023 but was not applied to our account. I have spoken with 2 agents who state they have taken down the information and nothing is done. I have also sent several emails to the customer relations email I was provided to to send proof of payment and I have gotten nothing but automated response emails. Meanwhile our company has gotten calls from different Stericycle (shred it) collections agents to discuss open invoice issues daily. I can't get an actual person to respond to my very detailed file showing a copy of our check, a copy of the invoices it paid and a copy of the cleared check from our bank. I just want the company to review my documentation and apply the payment to our account.Business Response

I contracted with Shred-It to dispose of sensitive documents for my company. I have had the barrel for about 5 months now and Shred-It has not come to pick it up once - not once. My monthly invoice they send me even includes a "fuel surcharge" which is great, considering they've never used fuel to pick up my barrel. **************** attempts have been futile. We had a service with Stericycle/Shred-it. We did not have a contract and our service was the minimum allowed by the company. This service entailed the company coming to our business and picking up and shredding confidential client documents. In March of 2022, we started having a billing issue with the company. We received a notice that our account was past due even though I had never received a bill. I called the customer service line and I was told that they had switched to a new system and were still working out the "bugs." So, we paid the bill. This incident got my attention and I started paying attention and recording when the company came to pick up our shredding. In June of 2022, I caught them billing us for a service that never occurred. This, in and of itself, took me 3-4 months back and forth to finally get proof from Stericycle/Shred it that they charged us for a service that never happened. On September 7, 2022, after I finally got resolution and credit for the fraudulently charged service call, I cancelled my service over the telephone. I kept receiving invoices. Every time I received an invoice, I called customer service, told them I had cancelled service, and followed that call up with an email saying the same thing. For months and months and months, they kept sending invoices, sending credit collection notices, sending threatening emails. I literally have called and emailed dozens of times to cancel and credit my invoices. I sent a notarized letter and everything. They are still sending me invoices with a balance that was supposed to be credited months ago. I have multiple confirmation/reference numbers that no one pays attention to. I have never in my entire life, in the entire 35 years this business has been open, had to deal with this sort of occurrence. It is worse than trying to cancel a gym membership. They are harassing us, will not close the account, and continue to ignore my credit requests. I NEED some governmental body to know this as no matter who I call, who I email, who I write letters to, this company will not go away.Business Response

Our charges have gone up by 27%, due to surcharges, and I am unable to get out of our contract without paying thousands of dollars. They have also made it very difficult to reduce the number of pickup dates, the frequency and the ability to limit how many shredding containers we have. I have spent hours on the phone being transferred from one department to another and I I am unable to get a resolution through the company. Stericycle Shred-it. We agreed to match the competitor pricing for one of her accounts and the other we could get as close as we could coming out to $5.00 more than the competitor price provided. She requested to suspend the accounts stating she had no time to speak with us and she was going to ask the BBB for mediation of her issue. I CALLED SHRED-IT COMPANY STORE OUT OF PLYMOUTH, I SPOKE WITH AN *************** REGARDING THE COST OF SHREDDING A 96 GAL CONTAINER OF PAPER. I SPECIFICALLY ASKED HER ON THE COST. SHE MORE THAN ONCE SAID THAT IF WE DID THIS AT A PERSONAL LEVEL, INSTEAD OF MY BUSINESS, IT WOULD COST ME $168. SHE FORWARDED A CONTRACT TO ME, AND I SAW THE $168 ON IT, SO I SIGNED IT. NO WHERE IN THE CONVERSATION WAS THERE ANY MENTION OF 30% SURCHRARGES. WHEN I CALLED AND LEFT SEVERAL MESSAGES, I FINALLY GOT AN EMAIL FROM ****, AND THE COMPANY THAT THAT WAS A NORMAL CHARGE AND THAT IT WAS CORRECT. MY COMPLAINT IS NOT ABOUT THE MONEY, BUT HOW DO YOU NOT TELL A CUSTOMER THAT ON TOP OF YOUR FEE TO DISPOSE, YOU ADD A 30% FEE FOR THE DISPOSAL. SHOULDN'T THAT BE PART OF THE CONVERSATION WHEN SOMEONE SPECIFICALLY ASKS YOU FOR THE COST OF DOING BUSINESS? WHEN TRYING TO CALL TO TALK TO SOMEONE, YOU GO THRU HALF A DOZEN PROMPTS, ONLY TO BE LEFT ON HOLD FOR OVER 20 MINUTES, AT WHICH POINT I HUNG UP. I'VE OPERATED A BUSINESS THAT IS A+ RATED WITH THE BBB FOR OVER 40 YEARS, AND THAT IS DEFINITELY NOT HOW WE OPERATE A BUSINESS. THE **** USUALLY STOPS AT MY DESK. Shred it is billing us for another companies services. We are **********************., a privately owned Pediatric Practice in ************, **. Within our account profile we are listed as ***************************** with an address of ********************************************************. This is not our address. This address belongs to ******************* of the King's *********** While we are affiliated with CHN we are not part of **** at all. Our CHN affiliation has nothing to do with our SHRED-IT account. I have called numerous times without any resolution whatsoever. THEY ARE BILLING ** FOR **** SERVICES! Invoice number ********** is for a **** practice in **********, **. When I refuse to pay they threaten me with collections notices. This has been going on for a year! I can't get any help over the phone, no one calls me back. I just get transferred all around. They also took an over $800 payment to then later say they never received it even though we have the proof of payment. We need some help with this.Business Response

We have used Shred-it to shred our files every so often as needed. We've never had a problem until the latest experience. My customer # is **********. I had an appointment scheduled on 12/23 to shred as we were moving out of our office. They called and asked that I switch it to 12/22 due to some weather coming in. That wasn't a problem so we switched the day. I spoke with a person who told me was the driver of the shred it truck and he advised he would be at my location within an hour. No one ever showed up and the number the driver called from went nowhere. When I called Shred-it they apparently didn't know what was happening and have no way to reach drivers. Later I received a call from Shred-it claiming they had come to our office that day but the truck didn't fit into our parking lot. Which is odd, as they have been many times before and full size ********* trucks come through just fine. The caller from Shred-it tried to reschedule me for the 1/3/2023 which was not going to work as we were leaving our office by end of year. They said they would have to call me back. We then rescheduled and they didn't show again. When I called the company, they had no record of anyone scheduling with me?!?! Keep in mind, no one just sits at our office we are re-arranging our schedules to be there. At this point I have had enough. We reschedule once more and they actually showed up. The next issue, the bill arrives, and its about $400 higher than it should be. I was informed that there was a one time fee which included 12 boxes, and then it was something like $12 each additional box. However I was charged $14.98 per box and the first 12 boxes weren't included in anything. I spoke with them over the phone again, went over the entire situation and how upsetting and unprofessional it is, and has been. I was assured that it was being looked into and someone with authority would contact me. I'm now receiving past due notices on the bill and still haven't heard from anyone.Business Response
