We were charged for 3 pick *** from Shred It but only received one pick up. We've called customer service AND sent a letter but have yet to have the 2 incorrect charges taken off our account and now we are getting a past due notice. On the two charges in question - they came for pick up outside of our office hours. We have no way of knowing if they actually came other than a document saying they were unable to complete service due to not being able to access waste on each day. On the 14th, we specifically told them we they needed to come by or before 11:30AM because we closed at noon that day and we even stayed open later to give them more time, but they did not come during our hours. Today we are again supposed to have service before 3:30PM but have yet to see anyone and worry this same issue will happen again this month. We only want the charges removed for the two dates we did not receive service and do not feel this is an unreasonable request. Thank you in advance for your assistance.Business Response

I called to cancel my service with shred-it due to the poor service. - They consistently pick up the shredding late - The customer service telephone lines are extremely frustrating and long.- They increased the prices via fuel surcharges that are not consistent with the market standard - The increase in prices are non -transparent Today on Aug 31/2022 I called to confirm my scheduled delivery because they have been late in the past. I waited on hold for 20 minutes and finally got confirmation that a driver would be here. The driver did not show up on august 31/2022.I then asked to cancel my service with shred it, they offered to call me back. I refused because in the past they have never called back when they said they would.I waited on hold for another 20 minutes and spoke with ***** who said the cancellation fee would be over $500. They have contracts for 5 years hidden in the fine print that of course was never mentioned by the sales team. I don't know why a shredding company even needs a contract. I proceeded to tell her my issues with shred it and questioned when my next pick up would be. ***** did not respond.I would like to be done with this dishonest and dis credible company as soon as possible without paying any fees.Business Response

Shredit continues to overbill us, according to our contract. We have been billed for services NOT PROVIDED AND OVERBILLED for them, at that! They billed us THREE times for one pick-up. Now they continue to harass us with collection notices for the overbilled amount that was supposed to be credited back on 2/10/22! I have sent them a reference number for the phone call I had with one of their representatives stating the credit would be posted. They even admit that they SEE the credit; however, they keep saying, "we see the credit sitting here, just give it ***** days to post to your account." Well, it's been SIX MONTHS of continuous phone calls and emails and sending documentation to them. I have had numerous phone calls (where I am on hold for sometimes over an hour!) and had correspondence with them ELEVEN times, always with the promise that it was going to be fixed; and they STILL harass me with collection statements! I have reached out to our customer service rep and he promises it will be fixed, with no success! I even sent them an email AND sent a certified return receipt letter (that I still have not received back) telling them we are breaking our contract with them due to THEIR lack of customer service! I am at my wits end. I don't know what to do! I don't know if you can do anything about it, but I just wanted them to be put on notice and for other potential clients to know what horrible customer service they have.Business Response

I have been in touch with ************************* from Shredit/Stericycle. They were very quick to respond after receiving your inquiry. ***** continues to be in touch with me. Although we are still working through the billing to reconcile, I feel we will finally be able to work this out and come to a resolution.

Their services was 2 x late or 2 - no shows...charged over ***************************************************************** ******* numbers...then an invoice shows up for $1600....This was for 3 trips and the job was still not completed. I feel sorry for the front line employees who have to deal with customers who have been jacked around by the sales and management...I contacted them with my concerns and was only given an email that showed amount due...no resolution...no contact whatsoever regarding my concerns.Found another company who came and completed my shredding for $350!Business Response

When the business I work for originally signed up for services in April, our one and ONLY stipulation was that our two separate oral surgery offices needed billed separately, as they are separate LLCs. This was promised to us. Then when the first invoice came in, we realized they did not separate our billing as promised. I reached out to my rep who said she does not handle billing, as she is in sales and doesn't do anything with billing. Also, our forwarded balance is hundreds of dollars off of what it should be. They advised me that the amount is wrong and to disregard any forwarded balance. We have to have accurate documentation for our accounts and cannot just "ignore" an incorrect balance. I then receive an invoice that seems corrected, but was informed they cannot back date the incorrect charges this and we would need to "figure it out" between our offices. This has been ongoing for nearly 5 months. Total lack of competency and accountability. I will attach our contract which has just one office on it, and then the invoice with both on it.Business Response

January 14, 2021 our company went into a contract with Shred it/Stericycle June 22, 2022 when we wanted to cancel service with shred it we found out that on page ********************************************************************* a 5yr contract. "Who Knew" to look at page 18 of the contract. Never did the sales person have us initial that section. Thousands of dollars accrued over the life of the contract to get out early.I have called and emailed and no one will get back to us. They have a "service guarantee" with no penalties that we fit into both with bad customer service for keys and bad billing services.Their website and linked in don't have email addresses for corporate offices to try to escalate my complaint. I am the office manager for ***** Construction. We contacted shred it and i received a call back from a salesperson named *********. We signed up for $99/mo plan. We scheduled pick up from our office and shred it did not show up on 4 occasions. I called numerous time and spoke with management who would apologize and then reschedule and ***** would show **. they finally showed ** in March and then 1 more time in April. Due to all the issue a rep at Shred-it Had offered us 3 months free of charge. They only came here 2x and now we keep getting bills for over $500. I would like 1. Shred-it to honor they're 3 month free (they can listen to the multitude of calls between myself and their management). I would like to cancel our plan as they are horrible. After we received the $500 bill i have contacted and emailed shred-it several times and i get no response. just the monthly bill saying overdueBusiness Response

We hired Shred-it for a one time pick up of materials to shred. We had signed a contract for the pricing. When we got the ****, it was almost ****** higher than the quoted price. All surcharges. ****** for a "fuel surcharge." When I called and asked for clarification, she said it's written in the contract, stating "Fuel Surcharge: Per index table." Recycling recovery surcharge of ***** and Environmental surcharge of *****. The "Tables" were no where on the contract. The customer service person, was hard to understand, was telling me that I should have been charge 30% of my total **** for fuel charge and was only charged 27%. Shred-IT service was requested on 1/10/22 for one-time residential shredding. Shred-It placed a phone call to the residence without warning from a phone not identified with the business. Since the call was not taken, the truck passed without picking up the documents. A bill was issued for $119 dollars for the missed pick-up. This bill was paid via **** card and Shred-IT has failed to post the payment to the account. A new bill has been issued each month or sooner requesting payment over and over again. Numerous communications to the customer service department go unanswered and no posting of payments have ever concluded this billing continuation. Shred-IT is threating addition action after they have failed to process payment.Business Response
