The roof was replace I spent $1000 deductible the insurance paid $16,913.93 and $3,690.71. The first check was enclosed by *****************************-********** and Windy City Adjuster were supposed to forward check to the others parties ******************************* and ****** Finance but they cash the check for $16,914.93 without others consent. The second check I was not aware of for the $3,690.71. Windy City also cashed that check. On 2/12/2022 was scheduled to made all the repairs but when I was talking to the worker to show him so of the work need repair I smelled alcoholic from him. He was not drunk but under the influence of alcohol I told him to leave my property now. In addition Windy City Adjuster requested two more checks from the insurance company and have not completed the job I been waiting since August for the to complete the job. In addition the purpose of all parties name on a check is to protect party. But Windy City Disregarded DLL parties including *****************************-**********. I requested Windy City to provide me with form for me to release them ***** representing me with the insurance company but they refused. I would like another company to finished the job and made all repairs needed. I would like Windy City Adjuster to reimburse me the costBusiness Response

Thank you for reaching out to us regarding this customer. We looked at our files and we see you the roof was completed 9/3/2022 after reviewing the photos and sending all the information to the insurance claim was paid and close in full. The homeowner has been very rude to my repair guys. Some of them dont speak the best English so sometimes it could be hard to understand nor do any of our guys drink on the job they were only there to help Miss.***** as she requested to see what or if any repairs need to be done after completing the roof. 06/16/2022 no money has been settled for exchanged.Contractor has not presented me with an offer for repairs.I received an offer from insurance company.that would only cover repairs no replacement cost.I was told by Windy City representative.*************************************, he would present my insurance with a counteroffer for repairs. nothing so far.Business Response

Thank you for reaching out regarding this customer after reviewing our notes and documents it shows that we met with the customer June 11, 2022 and an August 11 at 10 AM. We met State Farm the field adjuster at the property to go over damages. The insurance sent over a scope of work for repairs. Mac has requested and I told me report be completed to see if the shingle is available or not available so I can determine how we attack the next process which would either be repairs or full roof replacement homeowner on November 1, 2022. Reached out to Mac to see if we would bring our percentage down from 30% to 10% on insurance settlement which we waive that if we do the construction not sure if ***** has any intentions of actually completing these roof repairs, sounds like hes more interested in getting a check from the insurance company.Now ***** wants to cancel the contract after weve already gone to the process so that way he doesnt have to pay our service fee.Thank you.Initial Complaint

It started back in around September time last year. A guy from Windy City adjuster stopped by our house and inspected our roof and told me it's damaged which can be claimed by the insurance. I signed the paperwork and the insurance did pay us some money for repair. I then contacted Windy City and he came pick up the insurance check and my deductible check ($2,038). Since then, they gave us tons of excuses of stop by to fix our roof. It's a year passed, my roof still hasn't been fixed. He then gave his co-worker *** as a contact which i've been contacting him about the status. However, each time he told me his team will stop by, but never and each time with different excuses. He now didn't even pick up my phone call which i have no where to complain and follow up.Business Response

I had them remove and replace roof. The insurance company paid over ****** for a new roof on house and garage. Plus the company supposed to detach and reset all gutters. The gutters were not remove nor reset, the new shingles are coming up, the company broke the directtv (I had no service for 5 days), some shingles are over the edge of roof, and around the vents the shingle are a different color or missing. The company will not give me final paperwork with warranty. And stated that not coming to address the issues.Business Response

Hi, thank you for reaching out regarding this matter. We completed all work that the insurance paid for it detach and reset does not mean take all the gutters off put them on the ground and put them back in the house if we did that they would be damaged and never work properly. Detach and reset is while the guys are installing the roof, they remove the gutter apron to replace it with a new gutter apron witch touches the gutters at the roof line and they have to reset the gutters once installed. Whenever remove a DIRECTV service the homeowner **** to call DIRECTV and they reset them. Our installers cannot reset them because if they put holes in the roof and its not positioned correctly, the roof may leak in the future. This claim is closed customer satisfied. In August of 2021 we filed through Windy City Adjusters via our insurance company State Farm *************** for a claim of storm damage to our roof. We've been trying for an entire year to get assistance from him but texts, phone calls, voicemails, emails all go unanswered. Our initial inspection by State Farm was supposed to be accompanied by Windy City dually, they never showed up. Our adjuster Mac has never stepped foot on our property as we have security cameras and can verify this. *** did not inform us that State Farm had denied our claim the first time in 2021. We had to **** him down to request he re open for consideration. Upon doing so, we continued to call him, leave voicemails and text messages with little to NO response on status updates. In December 2021 and January of 2022 we received a letter AND a phone call from State Farm directly telling us they've been trying to get in touch with our adjuster and they've been UNRESPONSIVE! We had to work with State Farm directly to set up an appointment and gather the shingles they requested for a shingles test. He is clearly not working on our behalf if even the insurance company was trying for nearly months to get in contact with him. This has greatly delayed the potential for a solution and caused us to whether even more storms and damage to our roof. To this day we've never received any communication from Windy City or Mac as to a claim number, status, or the proof of mediation that they supposedly submitted to State Farm for reconsideration. We've been told that they were taking legal action against State Farm for denying our claim on our behalf and have not even been able to get in contact for proof. We have no one to help us and our insurance company, State Farm won't speak with us because we have an adjuster on our policy. We want a response from Windy City on their inaction and want them REMOVED FROM OUR POLICY please so we can continue to handle this matter on our own as they are not helping us.Business Response

Thank you for reaching out after reviewing our notes and documents it shows that State Farm approved only nine shingles on the entire roof on 9/8/2022 we requested that the adjuster review or for roof replace estimate multiple times and didnt get an answer regarding this homeowner, which became quite frustrating for us and the homeowner. Once we finally got in touch with State Farm, they clearly stated that theyre only paying for the 12 shingles and it would not be paying for any additional damages to the property. Once we got a hold of ******* and worked out a deal, he was willing to pay $9000 cash for us to complete the entire roof and what she was happy and satisfied.Initial Complaint

On April 30, 2022 a young man working for Windy City Public Adjusters rang our doorbell saying that he could help us with storm damage done to our roof. He said that he was aware that a lot of damage had been done in our neighborhood from meeting with some of our neighbors. He said that his company could help and all I would have to do was sign a form giving him permission to check our roof and for him to speak to our insurance. At the time I wasn't aware that I was signing a contract. After the April 30th visit I never heard from them, so I called about two weeks later and asked when was someone going to inspect our roof. This was in May, still raining and more and more damage was being done to the inside of our house. Finally someone came out with a ladder and said that they were there to inspect the roof. I don't know if they inspected the roof or not. When we checked they were gone without saying anything to us. After a few weeks passed, not hearing from them, I called to ask were they going to repair our roof. I also asked for a copy of the contract which I wasn't aware that I had signed until I spoke with our insurance agent. They never sent me a copy, but our insurance agent sent us a copy. Since there is a signed contract, although I don't know how, I figured we would have to have Windy City do the repair. The problem is they are not doing the work. I've called them numerous times. Twice I was able to speak to someone; once to ask for a copy of the signed contract and to ask when would the work be done since it's still raining almost every week. To this date they haven't sent me a copy and have said nothing about doing the work. I started texting them in July hoping that they would respond to texts since they don't return calls. To date I haven't heard from them. I want out of this contract so we can hire a reputable contractor to get this work done before the winter. Your help will truly be appreciated. Hi, thank you for reaching out regarding this matter. After our team reviewed the files and documents here are all the details. Our first contact was April 29, 2022, where ***** signed a public adjuster agreement to allow us to represent her in a clean process. We schedule a time with State Farm to come out to the property to show them the damages, State Farm adjuster approved 14 damage shingles on the roof as well as interior damage that was caused by the damaged roof. Our team was working with the desk adjuster from State Farm. State Farm wanted us to remove a shingle from the roof and leave it at the front step so adjuster can pick it up and do an Itel test which would give us results whether or not the shingles available or if it is available so we could attempt to repair State Farms policy states are additional doesnt match. It will be an entire roof replacement for the homeowner. When we reached out to ***** on November 8, 2022 we tried to explain the process in which we had to go through to help her instead she decided to hang up on us. Windy City did get a settlement of $4359.00 and which we have never been compensated for services. Thank you.Initial Complaint
