      Business Response

      Date: 06/26/2023

This is in response to your BBB inquiry.  Afni appreciates the opportunity to respond
to the consumer’s concerns.  On December
13, 2021, ****** forwarded the subject account, ****** account #:  *********, Afni, Inc. account #:  *********-01, with Afni for collections on
      the balance of $336.47.
The account is for services established on December 26, 2011,
until ****** considered the account delinquent on October 30, 2020.  The billing address associated with the
      account is **** ******* ***** ****** ********* ** ******** ** *****.  Afni mailed the initial notice of the account
on or about December 18, 2021.  On March
27, 2022, Afni furnished the credit reporting agencies with notice of the
account. On December 30, 2021, the consumer spoke with an Afni representative
regarding this account and agreed to make payments on a discounted payment
offer to close the account, however no payments were received. Afni received multiple
disputes from the credit reporting agencies, reviewed all relevant information,
      and responded appropriately.
On June 22, 2023, Afni received this complaint.  In response, Afni ceased communication and
initiated an investigation.   Afni has attached copies of the account
billing statements to this response; these are provided as validation of the
      account.  To address the consumer’s
concerns, when a consumer submits a dispute through the credit reporting
agencies, Afni responds directly to the credit reporting agencies. Furthermore,
the subject account has not been purchased by Afni.  Afni received the account from ****** and
acts as an agent on behalf of ******; therefore, the consumer would not have a
contract with Afni. A signed contract is not always required to initiate ******
services, as orders for services can be taken over the phone or via the
internet, which are considered verbal and electronic signatures, respectively.  On June 25, 2023, Afni sent a request to the
credit reporting agencies to remove the account from the consumer’s credit
report.  Please be aware that it can take
the credit reporting agencies anywhere from 0 to 60 days to update consumer
credit reports.  Afni has no control over
how quickly the credit reporting agencies update consumer credit reports.  However, this does not mean that the account
is not due and owing, simply that Afni will no longer furnish the account to
      the credit reporting agencies.  Afni
trusts this response has addressed the consumer’s concerns, but if questions
remain, or if they would like to discuss the account, they may contact a

This transaction occurred on June 19th 2023 at 1:44 EST. After getting several.calls from Afni I responded to a customer service representative. He stated that I had a debt for ****. I informed him this debt had been resolved. I proceeded to inform him of the steps taken and his unprofessional response was, "Ididn't know what type of plan would give me something for free." He was very aggressive and rude. I explained that I am on military orders and I am not responsible for the remaining cost of the contract agreement including the remaining cost of the device if paid on for 12 months. This was resolved in September of 2021. Now Afni has begun calling attemptingto collect on an illegitimate debt. I believe this collection agency has violated my rights as a consumer in the false, predatory, and aggressive means they're using to collect a debt.

      Business Response

      Date: 06/22/2023

This is in response to your BBB inquiry.  Afni appreciates the opportunity to respond
to the consumer’s concerns.  On May 31,
2023, **** forwarded the subject account, **** ******** account #:  ************, Afni, Inc. account #:  ***********1, with Afni for collections on
      the balance of $724.10.
The account is for services established on June 23, 2014,
      until **** considered the account delinquent on September 19, 2021.  The billing phone numbers are ***** ********* ***** ********* *** ***** ********.  Afni
mailed the initial notice of the account on or about June 2, 2023. Afni has not
and will not furnish the subject account to the credit reporting agencies. On
June 19, 2023, the consumer spoke with an Afni representative and stated there
was a dispute regarding this account. As, it should have been covered due to
      military leave.
On June 20, 2023, Afni received this complaint.  In response, Afni ceased communication and
      initiated an investigation.  To address
the consumer’s concerns, Afni reviewed the call-in question, due to the
allegations by the consumer that the Afni representative was unprofessional
      during their call.  The Afni
representative remained professional during the call and asked questions to the
consumer to gain an understanding of the consumer’s dispute. Furthermore, as
part of the investigation Afni reached out to ****.  **** states that the charges are valid,
as the **** account was cancelled due to the consumer request.  However, the consumer did not wait for the
agreed date of cancelation and ported their number ***** ******** out to a
different service provider on September 4, 2021.  Additionally, **** did not find any notes
outlining that the consumer was promised any major billing adjustments or
credits.  The consumer is being charged
for services and equipment up to the date of suspension/cancellation.  The consumer may send their deployment
      documentation to **** at: EMAIL

Again, Afni has not and will not furnish the subject account to
the credit reporting agencies. Afni has made the business decision to cease
communications with the consumer and no longer actively collect on this
account. Afni trusts this response has addressed the consumer’s concerns, but
if questions remain, or if they would like to discuss the account, they may

******* made me aware that they could not find my account. I was informed by an employee in an instant message that they could not find my account, my services were cut off, and I wasn’t sure what happened with my account. Months later i am now receiving harassing calls. I informed afni to please contact ******* and speak with the employee that informed me that my account couldn’t be found, if not the account would have been paid. ******* from Afni stated i should have paid a bill that was sent through the mail. My response for ******** was “would you pay for a bill you were told they couldn’t find?”. If an employee tells a customer they can not find their account and the customer moves onto another company, it is then the companies fault to train their employees, it is not the customers fault. I would like for ******* to do an investigation on which employee told me my account couldn’t be found, so i couldn’t pay a bill, so i moved onto *******.

This is in response to your BBB inquiry.  Afni appreciates the opportunity to respond
to the consumer’s concerns.  On April 13,
2023, ******* forwarded the subject account, ******* account #:  ****************, Afni, Inc. account #:  *********-01, with Afni for collections on
the balance of $198.67.  Please note that
this is for bundled services and all equipment charges are not included in the
      balance Afni is collecting upon.
The account is for services established on October 13, 2021,

      account is *** **** ********** ********* **** ****** ***** ** *****, which is

      consumer.  In response, Afni ceased
      communication and initiated an investigation.
Afni has attached copies of the account billing statements to this
response; these are provided as validation of the account.  To address the consumer’s concerns, Afni has
no knowledge of the conversation that consumer had with ******* customer
service representative. Additionally, Afni only contacts consumers at the
allowable times and frequency as regulated by state and federal law. Afni
reviewed the call-in question from June 16, 2023. The Afni representative
explained the account details to the consumer regarding the account.
Furthermore, the Afni representative provided options to the consumer while
asking question and one of the options provided was the final billing could
have been paid online or through the mail. As the consumer has requested, Afni
will no longer contact the consumer about this account. Again, Afni has not and
will not furnish the subject account to the credit reporting agencies.  However, this does not mean that the account
is not due and owing, simply that Afni will not furnish the account to the credit
      reporting agencies.  Afni trusts this

concerns, the subject account has not been purchased by Afni.  Afni received the account from ******* and
acts as an agent on behalf of *******; therefore, the consumer would not have a
contract with Afni.  This complaint is
the first notification Afni received from the consumer regarding a dispute on
this account. A signed contract is not always required to initiate *******
services, as orders for services can be taken over the phone or via the internet,
which are considered verbal and electronic signatures, respectively.
Furthermore, Afni does not furnish, nor is Afni required to furnish, our
agreement with ******* granting us the authority to collect on a debt. A
license is not required to collect on debt in the state of Georgia. Therefore,
Afni has complied with its obligations.  On
June 18, 2023, Afni sent a request to the credit reporting agencies to remove
the account from the consumer’s credit report.
Please be aware that it can take the credit reporting agencies anywhere
from 0 to 60 days to update consumer credit reports.  Afni has no control over how quickly the
credit reporting agencies update consumer credit reports.  However, this does not mean that the account
is not due and owing, simply that Afni will no longer furnish the account to
      the credit reporting agencies.  Afni
trusts this response has addressed the consumer’s concerns, but if questions
remain, or if they would like to discuss the account, they may contact a
