      There are no words to describe the frustration of United Airlines. I'm looking for a complete refund. This is what I wrote to them in a complaint. If you can AVOID UA. Even Spirit never screwed me this badly.On Tuesday morning, July 8, I experienced a massive interruption in my flight path on Flight UA 1162. Due to obscure circumstances, the flight was delayed so severely an extra stop was added resulting in my missing my flight to ***. This further delayed my arrival to work by four hours and impeded me from a nights rest.upon arrival in ******* (after a ridiculous delay on the runway where myself and other passengers were forced to sit in the cabin for over an hour with limited air circulation), I learned the ****** to ********** flight was FURTHER DELAYED to a departure time or 1 pm. Furthermore, I MISSED A DOCTORS APPOINTMENT AT 11:45 AM in ************* DUE TO UNITED AIRLINES IRRESPONSIBILITY AND NEGLIGENCE. With under 24 hours to make any changes, the service was unacceptable and I expect either a full refund or voucher equivalent to what I paid initially, a sum of ****** USD. I am a working individual with people who depend on me; it is completely unacceptable that United make these dramatic changes on a whim.Please note this is the worst flying situation I have every encountered, and will not stop fighting United Airlines until I am fairly compensated for the inexcusably poor flight service. In addition to a full refund for an abysmal experience, I will also be charging United Airlines with all of the food items I had to suddenly pay for due to the careless, unplanned, unannounced, and likely unnecessary delays.

      I flew First Class on United (Flight ******, June 30, 2025) and had one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever encountered. After waiting over 2 hours at baggage claim, I was told my bag was sent to the wrong terminal and I couldn't access it. There's a real chance it was stolen. The United agent I spoke to was rude, dismissive, and completely unhelpful, telling me to just file a claim and wait months for a response. No urgency, no empathyzero accountability. I paid a premium for First Class and got treated worse than basic economy. Absolutely unacceptable. I will think twice before ever booking with United again.

      I would leave -stars if I can. Lost our luggage then said it will be in at 5pm on the flight we drove 3 hours to pick it up gor it to not even be on that flight. Customer service has been horrible from the start and its been 3 days now. But they confirmed they have it.

      I booked flight for my mom but because of delays at the Newark Airport, United Airlines told me I could cancel the flight and promised me a full refund of CNY 3,407 when I confimed with customer service via their online chat. However, UA then unilaterally reduced it to CNY 1,157 without my consent. I tried to dispute with customer service, but they have not been helpful.
      On May 14, 2025, I canceled the ticket after a United customer service agent explicitly confirmed I would receive CNY 3,407, with no cancellation fee. Based on that clear statement (I still kept the chat history), I proceeded with the cancellation.
      Then on May 23, I was emailed that the refund would be only CNY 240 plus some taxes. I contacted support immediately and was told it would be escalated. Instead, on June 5, I was informed that only CNY 1,157 was being refunded. I called again on June 6 and followed up with customer service with an email compliant, but they just kept redirecting me to refunds team who refused to reconsider the refund amount.
      This is not a misunderstanding — it’s bait-and-switch behavior and consumer fraud. I am very disappointed United fails to honor the full refund amount they promised.

      I always fly with United and the way they act as if they’re unable to help a customer is mind blowing. I booked a ticket and showed them what was incorrect and they refused to be any help. No accommodations were made and wanted to charge an addictions fee.

      Flight canceled. Wife and I each missed a day of work. Got a credit of 5000 miles. Ridiculous when we both missed a day of work. Customer service awful

      My name is *** ********. I am an office manager for a man named *****, who had over $3,000 in flight credits through United. Due to the death of his wife, a heart attack, grieving, and ongoing health concerns, he was unable to utilize his credits and they refused to give a refund or extend the flight credits. He originally paid $6,000 for tickets he was unable to use and they absolutely refused to work with us. I have spent probably about 30 hours on this ridiculousness, and ***** is now out $6,000. Mind you this was after he had been told that these credits he had were good until the first of the year of 2026 several months ago. It feels like discrimination and taking advantage of people. It feels like a greedy money-grab, especially after all of the work and time put into trying to scramble to save his credits after learning they were not, in fact, good until next year, and I attempted the refund request as well as an extension request.I doubt he will ever fly United again, and he travels quite often with other people who are members of the build team or other staff. Anytime travel comes up in conversation, I now tell people that United steals their customers' money because that is exactly what this situation has felt like. Their customer service values and statements are LIES, and this was proven to me over the last two weeks while dealing with this stressful and overly complicated process of trying to get him at least something for his $6,000 initial investment, and they just all kept making excuses as to why they "can't," give a refund, which is ridiculous.Anytime a corporation gets too big, corruption and greed run rampant, and this is what United is a prime example of. Obviously we are not the only ones who have had a bad experience because their overall star rating here is less than two stars. While it's not surprising, it is EXTREMELY disappointing and has caused us a LOT of grief. So, buyer beware... United might just take your money and run.

      Dear Johan--I weighed my luggage on that little scale by the kiosk when getting my boarding pass. It read 55 pounds.I bought the overweight baggage fee of $140 based on that info.I then brought the luggage to the check-in clerk who weighed it on her scale which said 48 pounds.She said that 48 pounds was the correct weight of the luggage. I told her I paid an incorrect overweight fee of $140 based on faulty info at the first scale. I asked her how to get a refund for this error. She told me to contact you after the flight.I then contacted you as instructed by the United check-in ******* gave me no satisfaction from this unjust ********** do you intend to make me financially whole before I go over your head to your superiors at United?       Used UA almost exclusively every week for past 6 years. New policy is horrible! When passengers got delyed flights for a certain amount of time, we used to be able to call **************** and have a food voucher emailed to us. Now, ** will not do that. ******** customer service and a spit in the face to all their loyal customers! I want the ** corporate office to contact me about this.
