I went to the BMO Bank off 87th and center and they talked me into opening a business account just to lie to me. My biggest concern with opening a new business account was if there was going to be a hold placed on my checks as I deposit them. I was told by the banker that opened my account that they wont put a hold on my checks unless there over $5000.00 then they will clear the $5000.00 the next day and hold the rest. The first deposit they didn't put a hold on but the second one they put a 10 day hold on and the check was from a huge auction company and written off Bank of America. The check hold was placed on 6/26/2025 and I called Bank of America and they told me that the check had cleared throught there bank on 6/30/25 and BMO Bank wants to hold my check until 7/7/2025 which makes no sense. This bank did nothing but lie to me to get me to open a account this is by far the worst bank I have ever opened a business account with. The bank manager told me after I had the account open and after they put the 10 day hold on the account that they would hold my checks for 10 days almost every time. That was the exact opposite of what the banker told me. I am really disappointed that a big bank stands for these type of things and allows it and are not willing to do anything about it. As soon as my check clears that bank I will be withdrawing all the money out and closing my account. This bank lying to me and telling my check would clear the next day cost me 200 in overdraft fees in my personal checking account. This bank is absolutely horrible never open any accounts with them or trust anything they say I'm very disappointed with how I was treated here the only one that was actually helpful and cant say anything bad about is the bank manager he tried for me and never lied to me.

The worst bank you can ever deal with I do not suggest this thing to anybody they are bad they don't have a way to get a hold of them after certain hours their system is always down they're always working on it you never talk to a live person you can't get nothing taken care of at 5:00 p.m. it is just by far the hands down worse bank you could ever deal with I do not just this bank to anybody they are a shit bank. I don't see how they can stay in business treating their customers like this everybody I talk to is pulled their account so it shouldn't be too much longer and they should be closed.

********** ever! Don't bank with them! Have a business **** - wrote a check into my personal acct to cover expenses. Been with them for 40 years and they decided to put a hold on the check for 10 days. They took the funds out of my business and holding them for 10 days they say for fraud. (It is my *** business account going into my *** personal account) But if it was fraud - why would I fraud my own account/funds? Makes no sense. Talked to numerous *** people: ***************** then Resolution Team, then Business specialist. They all say the same thing - 10 day hold. We did have an issue when our line of credit matured too. They would not renew it and expected us to come up with all that amount within 7 days or they would process collections (which was lien against house and damage credit). There was no advance warning that that we couldn't renew our line of credit (which we always paid on time and was never late). In addition to the above, when depositing checks into a *** account it takes longer for funds to appear than *****. I only stayed with them because I have banked with them way back when they were called Harris (40+ years). My son also had a bad experience where his account was hacked. They opened a new account for him and when he went to make a deposit they held a check for over 2 weeks (I honestly think it was close to a month). So unless you don't need your money right away and don't care about the above, then bank with them. But I spent countless hours trying to fix things that I could have been doing something else and had to write additional checks to cover during holds or deposit cash.

I was charged late fees do to an error from the bank teller not entering my payments correctly. I called the customer service line and they explained that i would need to go to the branch manger to have the fees reversed. When i went to the ****** ,IL branch . I waited for over 45 minuets in the lobby to see the manger. When the manger came out of her office she rudely said "do you have an appointment ? " When i tried to explain the problems i was having . She told me to give my paperwork to a personal banker to make copies of and she would review it in the next 48 hours . I explained that this was my only day off work for the next week and that i would like to get this resolved today. She replied very rudely that i could close my account and go to a different bank if i wanted to .. I went home not very happy about the poor customer service, but i gave her the 48 hours she had requested . After one week i still had not received a call back . I called the bank and asked to speak to her when she answered i ask why she did not call me back . At this time she hung -up on me.

**************. I was with Bank of the West when *** acquired them. It seemed fine initially, but I had trouble opening a business account, and then they were unable to recognize a real, valid eCheck and refused to deposit it. This was the branch manager. I was able to deposit it via the app, but seriously? They have consistently mishandled my money. I am currently in a dispute with them over bogus charges, which they have denied. Truly a dishonest, inept bank, avoid them if at all possible.

I visited the ******** location in ******, ** on 04/17/25. The Manager ***** *. gave me so many problems for just wanting to withdraw funds out of my account. First day visiting the location the staff interrogated me regarding my account balance, I had just sold a home. I was told to come back the day after so the funds, and hold can be cleared. I return the next day as instructed, staff ask me to provide a U.S passport to verify my identity even after providing my state driver's license, and verifying my identity the day prior, so I provided my passport. I voice my disappointment and let the bank manager ***** *. know that if they want to make it difficult for me withdrawing my own funds, I can make it difficult for them and reach out to corporate. ***** *. did not like my comment and decide to call the police on me and pressed the holdup alarm and panic alarm. Multiple police officers arrived on scene, asking me to exit the building aggressively. I explain everything and showed them the recording I took on my phone of the whole encounter. The officers agreed with me, that I was in the right, and that no crime had been committed. ***** *. called the police, and made a false report (which is a crime in the state of **********) even had me trespassed for 1 year, not being able to return to the closest ******** near me, which he intentionally did to inflict emotional distress. I reported this encounter with Corporate, and received a call from them, for them (**** *.) to say they're really sorry about what happened and that they could try to remove the no trespassing order. I asked for immediate action to be taken on the manager ***** *. for the way he handle this situation. I have not gotten any updates since then. No one should be in a Manager position who is going to make ***** Police Reports on their clients. I have banked with BOA and ***** for over 10 years and never once had them call the police on me. If *** is ok with this, I will not be banking with them!

I had a credit card account with them. My spouse and I have a decent income, high credit scores, and like to use credit cards for safety and ease. We were using this card mostly for every day purchases plus a few autopay items. We paid the balance off frequently(never paid interest). Suddenly early April 2025 the card was declined when getting gas (something we did all the time with that card). Then it was declined again in a grocery store. When we checked online the account seemed fine. There was a balance so I paid it, the available credit was still normal, so I called the company. After a bit of explaining, and information confirmed, I learned the account was closed. And, that there was nothing I could do in the moment to change that and a letter would be arriving as to why. I got the letter a few weeks into April (it was dated April 10, 2025) and it stated that the account was closing March 31, 2025. No warning beforehand. I've only had one other credit card close and they warned about it over a few months time to ensure customers understood that it was happening. *** didn't give any warning and it seems that they did this is to many accounts recently.
