I had a horrific experience with *** that cost me about $1,500. I had a sizable CD that matured and I wanted to close my account and have the money sent to me. Notwithstanding that this is the year 2025, and even though I had sent them a wire transfer when I opened the account, they insisted on mailing me a paper check. When the check never arrived, they made canceling that check and having a new one issued exceedingly difficult. They refused to send me a new check unless I signed and had notarized an indemnity agreement in which I had to essentially claim responsibility for losing the check, even though it had never arrived, and to indemnify them for any loss if someone else cashed that check. Then they made me feel like they were doing me a favor by waving their 90-day waiting period to send me a new check. I finally, after much effort, reached an agent who was very helpful, and after I emailed her the signed and notarized indemnity agreement (which she was unable to waive), was able to arrange to have a replacement check sent to me via **** but still it was over a month between closing the account and having the money, a cost to me of $1,500 in lost interest (which of course BMO benefited from by having an extra month to use my money without having to pay any interest.) I don't think I've ever said this type of thing in any review of any nature before, but I will not be doing any business with *** ever again. This was truly a nightmare experience.

I do not understand at all how this absolute PIECE OF ********* has an A+ rating from the BBB despite all of the comments I see almost everywhere talking about how awful their "service" is. Main issue is that you can almost never login. I have a credit card that I need to pay so I am not charged late fees and take a hit on my credit, but I get stuck when registering and haven't been able to login for over a month. I had to call them to set a one time payment because they cannot.

Horrible experience. Unprofessional with there handling of scheduled appointments due to absence of the appointed Retail Relationship Banker. The Banker did not notify of a cancelation or reschedule. The bank blamed the Reserves or *********************** for not having approved the payment in cash made to the the bank teller.

I tried making a payment on app and kept giving me error. When I called they stated that my account was closed when I never closed it or received letter. They stated that they can close your acct anytime and it was internal decision. I would never have opened acct if I knew this company is like this. Now this will reflect on my credit just bc they have unprofessional practices. Don't open an account with this company. Look at all the complaints people have posted.

I had a *** debit card charge dispute. It took them almost a month to reach a resolution that the charge was valid and authorized by me, and I had to contact the merchant. Well, the merchant only has a 30-day refund policy, which was expired. The merchant had no phone number. Only a live chat option that used an AI chatbot that I didn't know about until later. I had contacted the merchant "before" the dispute, and tried to resolve. Why would I be contacting *** in the first place? It's because I couldn't resolve the charge with the merchant on my own. I called *** support to dispute the credit reversal, yet I was told once again to contact the merchant. That is ridiculous. My *** local bank is awesome, but corporate is not.

*** is unequivocally the worst bank I've ever had the misfortune of dealing with. Their management is incompetent, and their handling of the Bank of the West acquisition has been an absolute disaster. They wouldn't even honor legitimate checks drawn on Bank of the West accounts, demonstrating a shocking lack of accountability and a blatant refusal to acknowledge the obligations they inherited. Stay far, far away from this institution if you value your money and your sanity.

I had a credit card with Bank of The West, bought out by ***, for numerous years. Received a letter dated April 10, 2025 that my account was closed effective March 31, 2025. I was never late, paid before due date in excess of minimum payment. Unable to get any answer as to reason for closure. Excellent credit score. Do not use this company for any banking!!

Quite possibly the worst customer service ever. They have done nothing but treat me like a criminal since August and hold my money even after providing all the documents they required. I'm still fighting to get my demand deposit money back since August.

I had a credit card with *** Harris Bank for 5 years. I paid my bill on time and in full during the entire time. On March 31, 2025 they cancelled it. I discovered it when I went to check out at a grocery store.....card declined. I came home called the *** Harris branch in *********, ** and were told that they can cancel a card whenever they *******, BEWARE! This is not the way to treat customers! The Lakeville branch nor the corporate office were helpful. In fact, they were **** and rude.
