    If I could leave 0 stars I would!
    Unfortunately, my wife and I just thought our electric had went up. Little did we know, we were being overcharged (by about 35%) by Eligo vs BGE. What a scam!
    I think the wife signed up for their cheaper service then they increased the rate on us. shame on us for not noticing but really, 35%---come on!
    Stay w/ BGE; avoid these other companies like the plague!

    Eligo Energy MI LLC engages in predatory phone calls to convince people to switch their energy providers. On a number of occasions (more than 5), my father has received phone calls from sales people for Eligo claiming that they are calling from DTE to offer him reduced gas rates. This is fraudulent and criminal activity, as they are not calling from DTE. In the past, my father switched, not realizing what they were doing. After a few months of "reduced rates" his gas rates were jacked up sky high, way above what DTE charges. They also engage in constant phone harassment until he calls them back or responds to them. They should be reported to the authorities for fraud.

    My elderly mother with dementia was scammed into thinking she was getting a good rate. She got a good rate for the first three months, but then it changed to a variable rate without her knowledge. She is paying three times the amount that *************** charges. My mother lives alone in a single mobile home and has received three electric bills over $400 with January's bill being $536!!!!!She is having to take out a loan to pay Eligo's energy bills....Horrible!!!My mother has been in and out of the hospital due to her failing health and this is such a horrible thing for my mother who is on a small income to have to struggle with that it is heartbreaking!!!I am going to call her local television station to see if they will investigate this company and it's fraudulent ways.

    Bait and switch! Charging twice as much as DTE. When I tried to contact them, the auto message said no one was available at this time. After multiple attempts to transfer service back to ***, I had no choice but to write a review to protect others.

    They are agreeing to 3 month contracts and still charging. Then since your no longer under that contract charging what ever the want

    It has come to my attention after an extremely high electric bill (>$1k) that Eligo has been charging excessively high rates. I selected Eligo as a discount electric supplier 1-2 yrs ago. At the time I assume their rates were favorable or I wouldn't have selected them as an alternate supplier. After my recent electric bill I discussed my bill with ************** Electric and Gas, the main supplier in my area. The person at NYSEG was very helpful and pointed out that Eligo rates were 2.5 times NYSEG rates. Unfortunately, I do have the file space to retain all pages of every bill I receive. Therefore, I can not prove that that Eligo's rates were slowly rising during that time period even though I suspect that is the case. I called Eligo and cancelled my subscription over a month ago. They said it could take from 1-2 billing cycles to complete the cancellation. A rep. from Eligo called me today with good news and to inform me of a rate reduction. He didn't say what the reduction was before I told him I was not interested and to remind him that I canceled my subscription. I'm now wondering if they are going to cancel my subscription prompting me to write to you. At the least, I want to cancel my subscription with them but, I feel they owe me money for overcharging me for who knows how long.

    I received a phone call from a phone number within my area code. When I returned the call, I had a very polite representative who seemed to be talking about both my gas and electric bills. While that seemed odd, but I went along with changing my gas supplier but not my electric. What bothered me was that when I went thru the process of confirming the gas supplier change, it turned out to the Eligo Energy. That is the same company that she was trying to get me to accept for my electric supplier change. That seemed odd to me, so I checked out this BBB site and found a number of the same concerns listed. I think I had been scammed. I just completed a call back to them to REVERSE the change I had made. A different, but very polite representative, confirmed the reversal immediately. We will see!

    This company is a fraudulent company that targets individuals to confuse them and extort money from them. I called when my bill tripled in the span of two months. Called the company and they did not provide the information to cancel the service nor the terms of renewal...I did not authorize this change or continuation of service.Very poor customer service, would not verify the contact information they had on file for me over the phone. They would not email me any information about the contract. I searched for a service quote for the area - Western ********, and the website said that they do not supply their services to my zip code, or 5 other zip codes I tried for Western and Central ********. Maybe that's why my bill is over $400.00 a month for a 800 sqft home with one person living in it.
