I am 68 year old male with diabetes. I moved to Durham recently and had been having a hard time finding healthcare that met my needs. When I first heard about Oak Street Health I was ecstatic. I thought I had finally found a place where I could get the healthcare I needed. And I signed up early this years. I remember one of the things that had been promised to me was timely followups and monitoring of my health, especially my diabetes. I could not have been more mistaken. I had my first physical at the end of February 2023. I really can't even call it a full physical. It was more of a very brief checkup. It is now the end of July and I have had no feedback or followup. Sometime in April I did make an appointment as I was experiencing extreme fatigue and shortness of breath. A referral was made for me to get a chest and abdomen CT scan. When I showed up for the appointment I was told that it had been canceled by the insurance company as they needed more information for my doctor. I was told my doctor had been contacted and I could reschedule once the issue had been cleared up. I called the insurance company and they also told me they had contacted the doctor. It is now the end of July and I have heard nothing about this. What is more disturbing is that I have had no followup about these possibly serious symptoms. As far as they know my symptoms could still be causing me difficulty. Of they could even have gotten worse. Doesn't seem that they really care.Due to current health conditions I am in serious need of a primary care physician. Unfortunately find a new primary care physician is a very difficult task. And as for Oak Street. I no longer have any trust in them and have lost all confidence in their ability or willingness to provide me with health care.

I joined OSH in December 2022. My health complaints were shortness of breath, heart ************************** Had to wait 2-3 weeks for them to schedule lab, EKG, pulmonary tests. In January, I was sent to a hospital to get an ECHO cardiogram, then I was sent for a **************** density test. In February, the nurse practitioner called me with results, I needed to get tests on my breast and start Vitamin D supplementation. I asked her about the ECHO results, she could NOT find them and told me she would call me back. NEVER heard back from her. The mammogram led to a biopsy. A week later a nurse from OSH called and asked "What kind of results were you wanting?" I said I'm looking for the results from the breast biopsy AND STILL waiting on the results of the ECHO. She said "I can't help you with the biopsy result, you will have to call them!" I will look on the techs desk to see if I can find the ECHO! The next morning the mammogram office called me with positive results for BREAST CANCER & told me they could NOT get ANYONE from OSH to call them back. Now I am scheduled for a surgical consult made through the mammogram place for the BREAST ******* *** STILL cannot get the results of my heart problem. I called again today, via you cannot call the clinic directly, goes thru a call center that gives them a message, this gal did not have a CLUE what I needed after ***** minutes, she was mailing me a form to get ALL my records from them, then she explained that since I do not have a FAX machine, she could not email me and that regular mail is very slow. I just know if I drop dead from heart failure, OSH will be looking at a medical malpractice law suit for total incompetence. By the way, I NEVER even saw a DOCTOR, NEVER!!!

My review is for the Oak Street Health on ******* in **************************************************. I just started on ******** in 11/2022 and Oak Street Health seemed to be a good program - on paper and when talking with Office Staff and Medical Assistants. However, I am not finding their methods as very ethical. I was quickly diagnosed with COPD when my test came out good and I had no complaints. I informed the ** that I was not comfortable with this and they said that we would "talk about it later" but posted it anyway. I scheduled a 2nd opinion and was informed they would not have diagnosed me with COPD based on the test results and my reporting. Within a month or so I was contact to set up a lab for a Cardiac Enzyme test. I have had no heart issues but when I contacted Oak Street asking what concerns that had to order this lab work, they would not tell me. In my opinion, Oak Street is making me sicker on paper (in the portal) to make sure they get the most out of their profit making ******** payments. I have returned to my previous practice who I can trust. **************

I had an appt at OSH clinic on January 10. Since I never got a reminder, I called the day before to confirm. They said they cancelled my appointment and did not know why I was not notified. They gave me a new appointment a month later on February 9. I need pretty much *******************! So in the meantime I got a UTI and called them. They said they couldnt help me since I hadnt seen their doctor yet because they cancelled the appointment without telling me. So I was on my own! It took me four days to get an RX from an online urgent care (see my review of GOOD RX Care, which I will write next!). I took all of my Macrobid, but now it seems to have advanced to a kidney infection bc of the trouble I had getting an RX because did I mention Oak Street Clinic cancelled my appointment without telling me? And of course they still would not help me bc I never had my welcome visit, so I have to go to some Urgent Care. Some representative of theirs actually approached me in a ******* and told me how wonderful they were, in detail, that is all proving to be a lie. They have terrible online reviews, plus theyre under *** investigation!
